What We Thought Of LECHON!

- When we asked Filipino people what food we needed to try during our visit to the Philippines, everybody said lechon! So, when we were in Bohol, we found a lechon stand to try it for ourselves.
For those who don’t know, lechon is a traditional Filipino dish of a whole roasted pig, usually eaten at big events like fiestas (very similar to the UK’s equivalent of a hog roast!).
We were served the lechon with white steamed rice, soup and atchara (Filipino pickles). It cost us 199 pesos (£2.65 GBP) each for this meal so it’s definitely an affordable lunch option and very tasty! We wished we tried it earlier on in our trip so we could eat more of it!
Thank you for watching. Like, comment and subscribe for more 🇵🇭♥️😃

the white condiment is most of the time is a cane vinegar

3:30 just regular vinegar. don't overthink it 😂 Vinegar is a popular dipping sauce in the country
Thanks for that! Vinegar in the UK is usually a dark brown, so we were a little unsure! 🇵🇭❤️
Enjoy guys.keep safe
We will, the Philippines is the best!!

there are condiments that could have been made into a dipping sauce for lechon, it would have been better had you been informed of that

What does traditional look like ? ❤️🇵🇭
i thought that was amy adams w/ an english accent.
th white liquid is sugar cane vinegar and atsara is basically pickled papaya + carrots
That's what I thought too She look alike Amy Adams ..
Huge compliment thank you!! ♥️
Yes you dip the lechon in the vinegar sauce😍👍🏻
It tastes amazing!! 🇵🇭♥️
Good day mates, great you tried our very famous native meal "lechon" and the shredded veggie pickles is called the "atsara" while the soup with a ginger taste is the broth of the dish called "tinolang manok". It's way better eating with hands and you are right mate!
I think more people should eat with hands, feeling the amazing textures 🇵🇭❤️
Ive noticed only in the Philippines were western vloggers get many views compared to other countries.
Filipinos gave us so much love 🇵🇭❤️
Its greasy and fatty and cholesterol laden but WHAT THE HELL LETS GO FIESTA!!!!
Hahaha love this 😂❤️🇵🇭
if you vegetarian try lumpiang gulay and lumpia sariwa,(ubod)
Definitely will! 🇵🇭❤️
Love lechon, but with moderation. 😊.
❤️🇵🇭
i love litchon so much BUT it should be eaten occasionally, aside of expensive food for daily foods it has high cholesterol.
But it tastes so good! 😊
there is so much vege food here when you goto eatery ask staff to tell you what vege food they recommend
We will, we’ve learnt since being here that Filipino people are great at helping 🇵🇭❤️
What's up with the blur, is it a Japanese movie?😊
Showing dead animals/knives with dead animals is against some TH-cam guidelines. So we decided to censor it on this occasion ❤️🇵🇭
I'm hungry😅😊
Mouth watering 😋 ❤️🇵🇭
its seems your taking it slow in Bohol-Cebu, how long have you stay in Philippines, where is the final province, Palawan, Sirgao ? Northern Philippines you should try Baguio, a highland city and Batanes the small islets near Taiwan !! the equivalent to the Northern British isles, landscape is also very different from Central Philippines
We are very slow travellers, we like to spend as much time as possible in a town to get a feel for it rather than rushing through. It’s nice to stay somewhere long enough to say hello to the locals in the morning and they recognise us!
And thanks for all of the recommendations ❤️🇵🇭🇵🇭
Hope you'll continue to enjoy your stay here in the Philippines and travel around as well
We love this country as we will be coming back! 🇵🇭❤️
