I’ve got the small V8 302 in this truck. And it just gets great gas mileage. I had a sport Trac with the V-6 in it and it got around 17 in the city. This truck has always gotten 18 1/2 in the city and 22 to 23 on the highway. Been extremely happy with gas mileage.

The Oil Change was coming due. . . . seriously . . . . Actually, the engine is not running. When you start it up, it goes away.

You still have to do oil changes.

Does it matter if its regular oil or synthetic....I changed my oil before the change oil display came on, I had 10,000kms on it and it said I still had 29% oil life left, that didn't sound right! I thought oil needed to be changed every 5000kms...

Yes it matters what type of oil. Regular oil should be changed at 3500 mile intervals. Synthetic blend’s differ but probably 7500 mile maximum intervals. For full synthetic go as much as 10,000 miles before changing the oil. My 2013 Ford F150 computer is set at 10,000 miles because it is recommended to use synthetic oil. Check your owner manual & use the type & weight oil recommended. Oil is the life blood of the car. Err on changing it too frequently rather than not frequently enough.

5.0L is my guess. My old 5.4 was crap on gas, my newer 2013 5.0 gets 18-20
