We are almost done with phase 3 and I have been really struggling to find any clear information about phase 4, so this video has really helped. Thank you. I just need to find some kind of plan now.

I think it is critical to not skip phonemic awareness activities before jumping straight into phonics. I teach kindergarteners and grade 1's how to decode aurally before I ever introduce the graphemes. Perhaps that is another video series you could work on. :D
This is helpful!! I've just learnt about phases 2-6 in my pgce English lesson and my head is hurting from it all 😩. After only having done phase 1 phonics in my preschool job learning about phases 2-6 has been difficult but this video really helps make it easier. 🥰☺️

Hi! In Reception, we start teaching phase 2, which is learning letter sounds. We don't expect children to know these before they start 😊

Hello - it depends on the children, their age and your setting. However, usually we would teach one sound a day.
