Great video! As a huge fan of tank the only thing you didnt cover is how good he is in a closed stance fight despite us not seeing it much. We havent seen him go against many southpaws but he absolutely demolished his opponents in hector garcia recently and jose padraza in the past both being in a closed stance fight. Its rare you see a southpaw who knows how to fight in a closed stance let alot possibly being Better! The Philly shell struggles in an open stance which is why he uses his long guard so much more recently. I think we see a strong philly shell for tank against frank martin!
I think Gervonta is a skilled boxer. However, the loss of focus can give the opponent a chance to hit back. Another flaw is that despite his short stature, he gives the taller opponents a space to manoeuvre and punch and get cheap points! Mike Tyson’s style was not to leave any room for the opponent to manoeuvre; actually he’s been literally within his opponent’s embrace, breaking his defences and knocking him out, he was of a short stature as well.
While I understand how Tank’s style affects his workrate, I don’t like his workrate. I wish he were busier and threw more punches per round. I believe he’s susceptible to losing rounds because he doesn’t stay busy. He gets away with it because he typically gets his opponent out of there. I think this could be a problem against highly skilled fighters who are busier, like Devin Haney.
This is a no brainer, tank will have to become a high volume pressure fighter to beat a pure outside defensive boxer in Devin Haney. Tank is a low volume counter puncher which works well against one dimensional sluggers like rolly and Ryan. Against Haney that style won’t work in tank’s favor, Haney will have the stylistic advantage.

Tank has the same skill set as Terrance Crawford. They get timing range and see if you can hurt them which is crazy but if they don’t respect you they come forward and stop you
8:45 context matters here. Firstly, Floyd kept shouting about tank doing “money mayweather” things. In that specific moment, Tank if I had to guess was irritated he said something that wasnt instruction - just a compliment on his “money mayweather” head movement. I’ve watched boxing as long as I’ve studied racing and many elite fighters are specific about the data that are giving mid round. Davis has shown in the past he doesn’t want non- mission critical into, much like a formula 1 driver gets irritated by this same thing. They don’t want too many things coming their way. Especially if it’s branded with another boxers name. I can’t know what that look at 8:43 means but it’s reasonable in fact that he was trying to limit the info as to keep him focused. And then the shot later in the round wasn’t him losing focus, though again context, at this time it’s the furthest in a fight he’s ever been. Still true today. So that alone says it’s unlike other moments when you say “at times”. Bc no other time came from the 10th. Secondly, the ref was speaking Spanish right before the clinch occurred telling Gamboa to “work out, work out” as it appeared that might lock up yet again. Then inevitably they did and the ref started to say something as he uttered one syllable which sounded like what he’d been saying all fight “alright, stop” (he got out “Al”) while also taking a step towards them, it’s very reasonable this happened. Tank also has this odd tendency to almost overtly drop his hands as if to say look ref clearly it’s not me holding . It’s also a pretty useful tactic for judges to show you’re breaking and want to fight instead of being the one initiating the holding. So unless tank speaks Spanish, he likely didn’t know what he was saying but assumed it was warning Gamboa to workout and not clinch again. Then when they clinch hearing the ref start to speak he assumed like the 100 other times in 10 rounds they’d be separated. Just really bad timing and the fact that he was speaking only Spanish. I’ve seen other judges only give commands in non English when fights are in Vegas if they say it in both languages quickly. Probably for this reason. I’m not Tank’s biggest fan. But his focus isn’t a weakness. In the contrary. The guy has put away literally every single fighter when scheduled for the full limit apart from 1. You don’t do that losing focus.
Both interesting, have already a bunch cooking, but if we were to do one, I beleive a Jermall Breakdown would be really interesting@@eduardoazevedo6356
You miss an important point for me is that he has a left-handed guard. This also explains why he parries so much : opponent puches directly land in his guard if they don't know how to handle Southpaw stance
He fights flawlessly for his style. The minute his speed and reflexes start to diminish ? He'll be another Roy Jones . Much like Cam Newton in football or any other QB that utilizes there legs . The minute the defense takes away you biggest attribute , which is utizing the legs ? The QB in question starts to struggle . I feel this will happen to Tank , he depends on his agility so much in a fight much like Ali did and the way Roy did , they both struggles the minute they didn't have that cat like reflex that got em to the dance
Everyone once they get older there reflects slow down and tank only more around the ring with his legs when he is fighting pressure or a come forward fighter and once he gets there timing down and how they are punching and then he set them up he will stop moving and let them throw their punches and then he will counter them if he don't put them down they will feel that punch and they will change the way they fighting and then tank will pick them apart and start breaking them down then the knock out will come
Tank has been my fave fighter for a few years now. Dude is a straight up sniper. Super accurate shots. He throws punches from all angles with both hands. But that straight left and that left uppercut is like woah. Garcia just came out and said Tank doesn't hit hard....uhh sure😅😂😅
My god. To beat him you need to have footwork that is just as good as his and give really sneaky body shots until the 8th round then pick up the pace. Easy on paper but damn near impossible in practice.
Rolly weighed 165 that night and tank dropped him going backwards! And tank said he didn't even try to punch with bad intentions. He said he just threw. Power is god given and tank has special power.

You miss an important point for me is that he has a left-handed guard. This also explains why he parries so much : opponent puches directly land in his guard if they don't know how to handle Southpaw stance
His Only Flaw Is “Loss Of Focus” Let That Sink In
Split second decisions, with pin point accuracy!
Good stuff! All faxt 💯
Inoue vs tank would be fun based on the skills speed and power shame about the difference in weight
Only flaw is loss of focus so just as he said a focused tank is a dangerous tank
Could you please make a video on how to attack successfully. I keep getting countered everytime I attack 😢. Does have to do with feints, setups...?
My god. To beat him you need to have footwork that is just as good as his and give really sneaky body shots until the 8th round then pick up the pace. Easy on paper but damn near impossible in practice.
Wish I could’ve seen gervonta vs mayweather
I love your channel
He is insane
That was a good video. Do you think you could breakdown GGG for us🙏
I wish these guys weren't such Divas and gave us Great fights with Great opponents
Im 4’2 so this is really helpful
Rolly weighed 165 that night and tank dropped him going backwards! And tank said he didn't even try to punch with bad intentions. He said he just threw. Power is god given and tank has special power.
This channel is so goood
The sound of Tank’s uppercuts on Gamboa at 3:30 is just nasty. 🤦🏾♂️
