Usyk won the undisputed heavy weight title last night. What a superbly trained and dedicated fighter he is. I pray that the boxing program that produced him,Loma and soany others emerges from this war intact.
As as Anthony Joshua fan, i was devastated for AJ just like AJ himself was when he lost the rematch fight to Usyk but after seeing how technically gifted Usyk is, i have finally come to the realization that there is absolutely no shame in that
He seems to have matured and come out better than before. Losses don't mean much and can help a fighter grow, too many fans place importance on the 0 losses thing to be honest
Pre-slips and active lead hand are dangerous against a counter puncher Floyd gets pilloried for running but usyk is worshiped for doing practically the same I think he will lose against fury He is not a ‘you hit me first guy’
@@D_AnthonyForeskin he defo steps up gears as a fight goes on, not just entirely relying on an opponent to gas out, tho that does also help his gameplan
@s4mm4st3r5 legit, we saw Loma do it the other day with kambosas, i was expecting a points win then boom body shot. Usyk and Loma are pound for pound greats man
Great breakdown. Usyk is one of the goats, very few in the history could come close to him in versatility, ability to adjust and technical skills. If anyone at all...
Honestly. Usyk is one of the most skilled heavy weights of all time, up there with Mohammad Ali. He can certainly outbox Fury in their upcoming fight. But, Fury is a heavy weight beast, and for his size, he moves extremely well too. Very exciting fight indeed!
It looks nothing special when you watch a fight normally. But when you watch this slow-motion analysis, you realize how great this guy is, and what a nightmare is for his opponents to play this game with him and try to land at least something on this Ukranian champ.
Thank you, SkillsBoxing, as a true and very dedicated southpaw switch hitter boxer, I consider Oleksandr Usyk the most technically skilled heavyweight boxer. He’s like a big version of the southpaws Lomachenko and Pacquiao put into one. Honestly, my top 5 pound per pound list ranks Usyk as number 2 after #1 Terence Crawford. 😎🔥🥇 🥊🥊🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💖✝️
I’m a heavyweight southpaw and recently I sparred with another heavyweight (light spar). That guy hit me with a jab, I almost went to sleep but he didn’t notice it as I recovered instantly but I knew not to mess with his punches a lot. Usyk and Loma are great inspirations for me as I too move a lot especially for a heavyweight, I’m gonna study them to get better
Did you do a rope jumping? Skipping rope helps MUUCH in gaining speed. Imma in the same situation as you, also big southpaw , and after several months of skipping and jumping rope, I gained lots of speed. So I had nice speed even when I did spars with much lighter guys (middleweight and supermiddleweights)
@@EdwardNigma950 I only jump ropes when warming up before my boxing class. And I really don’t struggle a lot with smaller people. I want to add jumping ropes in the morning but I already run like 3 to 3.5 miles every other day
@imhassane try to do the jumps after the main part of the training, for about 7-10 minutes. After month-two, you will see the effect :) My coach also was the spar partner of Usyk and he knows that soviet style, so I'm knowing what I'm talking about. So good luck to you, mate ;)
You got it man, never stay stationary. Instead always keep elusive movement to keep your opponent guessing and confused. Use your lead hand as a formidable weapon for distance control, probing, and feinting.
Subbed. Fantastic breakdown, thank you. I particularly appreciated all the work put into slowing down sequences to illustrate the point. Keep up the great work!
Soooo where was it created then? You call his opinion bs but do not provide the backup to your argument. Where does this style come from originally? What's its history?
@@frankk9105 Usyk owes his style to Anatoly Lomachenko. And if the soviet boxing created in russia, then where are all the russian boxers? Why am I seeing only ukrainians? 😉

@zaidabida007 James Toney? That would be super short and easy video to do. "Block the punches by your face." That's the breakdown of his career. If he didn't have a block of concrete instead of head, he would have been beaten by every second boxer he ever met. Disrespectful blockhead.
nice workouts from him in training. quickness, stamina, coordination. a lot different then most boxers which is heavy hitting, combinations and sparring.
Subbed. Excellent video. Usyk's body is often exposed more than General Grievous', but apart from that, he's a great technician with unearthly stamina.
I think the flaw in Usyks game is that he is less effective when he in the clinch and being rough housed. That said he is the highest skilled Heavyweight in the last 20 years.
It cannot be fully described as a "Soviet" style. Yes, there is an element of the shuttle step, but all other movements are something entirely uncharacteristic of the Soviet boxing style. Therefore, I would say that Lomachenko's father took the Soviet style as a foundation, added his own ideas, and modernized it into a style that I would call the "2012 Ukrainian Olympic team style."
Yesss. There is elements of it, specially when he boxed on the amateurs you could see the pendulum step more, but Loma and Usyk do have a style of their own💯
@@JimDarkmagicThe4thUkraine was part of Soviet Union and loads of ukrainian boxers were fighting for SU in olympics, loads of ukrainian couches were training Soviet boxers...Why do you see so many ukrainian champions this days with that style? Why dont you see russian champions with "famous russian style"
Usyk's footwork has a major fundamental flaw. He hops too high up! He can't plant his feet and counter on reaction because of it. Often when he hops back out of range, he does a few extra hops. An elite opponent can easily exploit that because there's a split second that his feet aren't touching the ground, so he can't move or punch with power. Bivol has much better footwork. No unnecessary hops, feet barely leave the floor, simply glide around the ring and can be planted for a power counter when he needs to.
I knew uysk was going to win the moment this video was released, I never saw any of usyks fights before but I have watched furys fights enough to gain the confidence in usyk.
Usyk's and Loma's styles are so beautiful. Soviet/Ukrainian Boxing-Tadition. Both embody the highest art of boxing. Wonderful. Hope Usyk beats Fury in a fair fight.
Will be interesting to see if Fury can send his long wiry arms through Usyk’s extended fencing style guard. Fury slimmed down to try to increase mobility to evade Usyk.
