Great channel Quicky keep doing it your way, as they say you can't please everyone so you might as well please yourself. One of the best bike building channels out there.
Hey Quickie! Nice to see Sherman out again - that’s a skill I really want to develop myself. Re shaping the work piece, my understanding is that there are two stages effectively - putting extra shape into the sheet of metal by stretching (wheeling) and then shaping the piece by forming (bending). So you can always flatten out the piece as much as possible by hand for wheeling and then bend the lateral curve back into it by hand - the shape will always stay in the metal… if you follow me! Ray at proShaper workshop does some great videos on American style wheeling - ie liberal use of mallet! John Moss is an excellent proponent of pure English wheeling, although less prolific with tutorial videos. Great stuff, and now I’m going to watch how you get on with the steel…!😀
That's exactly what I'm trying to do matey 😁👍 I like the proshaper way of working, it's just really hard to do when there is soooo much going on in a small area 😁
You keep doing what your doing and the waffle is helpful to understand which is great for my thick head top channel better than that other Chanel del…… enough said
Wow mate your craftsmanship is awesome........ Wait this a different channel, but better explained and demonstrated, like you actually did some research first !! Seriously though for a "not a how to" vid you explained it really well. And, ok I know nothing about the English Wheel, but I would feel more confident in having a go than if I took notice in another channel that need not be named. Nice one mate 👍
Hehehe... Thank you matey. I've still got loads to learn on the wheel and.dont use it often enough to be really good at it, but as long as you kinda understand what's going on with the metal as you roll it, you stand a chance of.workingnout what to do next. It really is a slowly slowly approach though 😁👍
Hi Simon bikes looking great. I am waiting to see how you get on with dyno because I am building a bandit based hard tail I’ve go piper cross filter same as you. I was surprised the original kit was so far out . Also the standard bandit has emissions gubins. I would be interesting to see how you blank that of and if it needs a breather on cam cover. Thanks for taking the time to read this . All the best Clive.👍
Thanks for watching Clive. We're booked in for the Dyno on the 8th, so basically a week away matey. I still have the breather on the crankcase, I just don't have a hose on it at the minute. 😁👍
I thought the band went across the wheels diameter to kill sideways movement or have I missed something? looking good, keep the practice pieces they'll probably be hand for bodywork
The bend follows.the crown of the lower anvil, that's why there is a range of anvils to choose from. Once you achieved that radius, it doesn't matter how much you wheel it, it won't bend any more.unless you change the anvil. 😁👍
Nice demo 😁 As others have said, a lot better than other channels. Regarding waffle, just remember it's your channel! I'll say again, do something simular to Andy and others do, a quick disclaimer about its not a how to.
It's not as easy as it looks to make stuff bend how you want it to... The shape I want is really quite simple, but it has to fit close up around the frame. That's the tricky bit 😁👍
The amount you waffle you’d give a Gran in the Post Office queue a run for her money. Everyone loves a Gran😉 If you’ve got a spare £380 Geoff Moss does a 2 day English Wheel course. He’s near Liskeard.
Hehehe.... I'm pretty sure she'd be looking for something high to jump off matey 😂🤣 £380 is a bit steep for me at the minute, but I'll keep it in mind dude. Got a car to buy yet... 👍
@@QuickBikes no doubt about that. I want to do a blacksmithing course but the prices have gone through the roof. However, It’s nice to have someone like Geoff on our doorstep for a change. The guy is incredible.
Some of the people some of the time etc. For the whingers 'Don't stand in traffic and complain about all the cars'. Bugger them just plough on, its interesting.

Thank you matey, and thanks for watching 😁👍
It's your channel mate, you do things your way. Don't let the whingers get to you.
I enjoy watching what you do. 👍
Thank you matey 😁👍
Keep doing what you are doing, saying what you are saying. Love your presenting style, feels like I am there with a brew and biscuit 👍
Hehehe... I'm not changing anything matey, I just wish folks would get it 😂🤣
Keep doing exactly what your doing...do not change anything👍
No worries matey 😁👍

Hehehe 🤣😅😂

Thank you, a lot of folk seem to get the explanations of what I'm doing and why... Only trouble is, sometimes it takes a while 🤣😂

Dude if they haven't got it by now just ignore them, it's all good love it
It's pretty obvious init...? I've never said 'this is how you're supposed to do it', and I've always waffled 🤣😂
Very interesting! And I agree with the other comments. 👍😁❤

@Quick Bikes Band not bend lol, was talking about the elastic band, fairly sure Iv seen them slipped over to lock the movement to ine direction.
Did you find any keys?
Not yet matey 😁
Have you been watching DelBoy on the Chinese wheel?
Hehehe... I never miss a video 🤣😂
I never knew I could use it as a bead roller..!?!
You done well , got rid of everything you do not use.... apart from the Excercise Chair🤣
Hehehe.... He does get used... Occasionally... 🤣😂😅
out of interest, what grade is your scotchbrite wheel? ta
Red scotchbrite (7477), very fine grade matey 👍
Teacher of men...... good job we are all just masive kids ha ha
Hehehe.... I'm never growing up if I have a say in it 🤣😂
@@QuickBikes we dont really grow up we just loose our hair and get a bit flabby around the middle

Practice makes perfect i suppose you could always make a wire buck and bend the steel over that but still needs practice

Hey, check your comments awaiting approval. Think mine got "blocked".
Aw bugger... I've not checked that in months!!!!!
@@QuickBikes I mentioned a guy on an other platform which probably gets filtered out to prevent spamming.
I've been through all the pending stuff (and there were a few), and I can't see any comments from you matey...

Del's wheel is way better. You see - the bullet holes makes the whole thing flex to much and you don't know what you are doing
Hehehe... Very true matey, I haven't worked out how to use it as a bead roller either yet 🤣😂
What a lot of talking, un sub :-)
Hehehe... Bye 😁👋
@Quick Bikes just kidding, I really like that jabbering and in the mean time pick up a thing or two
Hehehe... I'm in the shop on my own at work as well and quite often find myself chatting to nobody 🤣😂
Mate, i know having the right tools is half the battle but your not half talent mate.👍🏻
I'm picking up some stuff for sure. It's worth having a go as you might just surprise yourself 😁👍
Thanks for watching
Gee give me a dollar for every time you have told people that you are not trying to teach I would be a rich man.
It's not like I haven't covered it before hey 🤣😂
