@@QuickBikes Definitely, now the engine has been mapped and the one off fabrications start going on its going to be a very unique Suzuki, which is rare these days as 'custom' usually means bought off the shelf bolt on bits.
I think if you want to accessorise a bike with bolt on bits, you can go so far... But making everything is way more fun and you can get the look you're after in the end 😁👍
@@QuickBikes Absolutely, I am not knocking bolts on bits most of them are great, I buy into it myself but your fabrications are really well thought out and I don't think you give yourself enough credit for your skills. Nice to follow along as you create ASBO.
Nice one, Simon. Couldn't see how those top hats were going to go on without fouling your spanner flats, but the shoe finally dropped. 'd be worried about corrosion on them, what with being stuck over the rear wheel more or less and winter road salt, have you thought about home anodising? I've been looking into it for some ski and snowboard bindings I'm prototyping, but it's getting tough to get hold of the acid these days, even over in frogland. I dread to think what it's like in the UK.
Nice work. My only concern would be if the bushes came loose due to all the pot holes the plate could come loose, drop, and snag up on the wheel. A tab fixed to the back of the bar touching the underside would prevent that from happening.
Thank you matey. The clamping bolts will be done up toit and probably thread locked as well in the final build. It's a stainless M12 fixing into a mild steel boss, so could take a fair bit of torque and I think we'll be fine 😁👍
@@QuickBikes a tab on the back of the tube laying flat on the underside would prevent the tube from turning and still be unseen. Perhaps I’m not explaining it well. The bike is looking good
It's weird how the camera pics stuff up when machining. Nothing seems square or solid. There always seems to be a bit of a wibble until the drill finds its seat in the pilot hole. It could be the grind I've put on the drill I suppose... 😁👍
Hi ya. Love the build so far , but have you thought most people don't have mills or lathe's to make custom parts as you know indicators, foot pegs ect are some of the things to get wiped out first if you have an off.Welding the exhaust end can to the link means you have to change both instead of just slipping on a new can. This is NOT a criticism just an observation. Great channel.
Yup, you're totally right, but I'm building a custom bike, not a bike that just has stuff bolted on it from a catalogue. I get what you're saying matey and thanks for the comment. Ultimately the winner only paid £10 for it, so not much invested if they do bin it 😁👍
Hi Quicky mate, I think I've said before I'm not a great fan of these indicators, the shape just seems wrong to me. Did you nick em from a fairground or amusement arcade by any chance. Guess I was expecting a more traditional shape indicator lens, diamond, coffin, elliptical etc. etc.. Have you considered using bar end mounted stuff which (I think) could do the job of both front and rear indicators? 😮😮 I'll get me coat 😁
@@JimBiddle. Yes I think they are intended for 'bar end' use perhaps that's why in my opinion they don't look right mounted at the rear the way they are. 👍 I'll get me coat 😉
They're bar end indicators that I'm just using on the rear. I'm also using them on the bars and the reason is that everything is rounded on the bike... Round headlamp, round tail light, round indicators on the bars, so these will match in. At the end of the day they can always be replaced with something else as they just screw into an M8x1mm thread. I'm never going to please everybody, but I am going to build the bike I pictured 😁👍 It's good to have an opinion matey, it's just others will differ 😁
I asked Crispy that very question... If the bike was originally designed to have indicators front and rear, it has to have them front and rear unless it's built for a daylight not (IE no lights apart from a brake light)...
Another great job, with unbelievable attention to detail. I laugh whenevet you lose something. Can't wait forthe day you do a Craig and say "I knowI put that somewhere safe".
Thank you matey. I really like the look of the mount. It's a bit retro and suits the bike I reckon. I've got too much stuff scattered everywhere and a terrible memory 🤣😂
Very nice tail tidy Quicky. Starting to take shape now.
Thank you matey. The more stuff gets added, the better it looks i think 😁👍

Mate, great job, and the 'jaunty angle' is spot on...! 😁👍
Thank you matey. You can easily read the number plate, so I don't think we'll have a problem with Mr MSVA 😁👍
Nice work good attention to detail it does make the difference.
It looks really clean and tidy I think. It may not be everybody's taste, but suits the bike nicely I reckon 😁👍
I can't wait to win this bike 🤞🤞 coming along lovely doing a beautiful job mate
Thank you matey, and the best of luck to you 😁👍
Idea?: slot the frame brackets? To save having to pull out the indicator wiring if you ever need to remove the ‘tail-tidy’
Maybe... Wouldn't leave much to clamp to though... 🤔
Nicely done quicky
Thank you matey 😁👍

It should be alright matey as the inserts are stainless and everything else will be powdercoated 😁👍
Looks alright though hey 😁
Brilliant

Nice work as always Quickie, looks really good mate.:-)
Thank you matey 😁👍
Love it! 🙂

Looks good, those covers finish it off nicely.
Might be my eyes but it looks like the drills are bending slightly when you push the tailstock in.

I'll have to check it again and turn a test piece. You could we'll be right 👍

😁
It now reminds me of the insect with eyes far apart. It doesn't look bad but it would have been nice to see panigale'esc style bracket.
