Coming from a Rolex 16570 I absolutely LOVE my BB54. It's everything I love about vintage watches but with modern tech and build quality. It hasn't left my wrist for the last 2 months!
Man I like your videos. There is something about the lighting in the studio and the “on wrist” shots that better represent what the watch looks like on your wrist. If I see another full length video of a watch on a table I will go mental. Keep up the good work.
@@dutchcoiner I owned a 5 digit submariner. Never owned or handled any of the ceramic subs. I am sure the submariner is objectively a better watch, but the Pelagos 39 (I have this also) and the BB54 wear better on my small wrist. I get two for the price of one, so there’s that, too.
Excellent review, well done! I know that must have taken a lot of time to put together. I daily wear a bb58 and just adore it. Although I wish the bracelet was like the 54.
Good and honest appraisal.Had the 58 since release and still love it as its like a birth year watch that works. This year because of the heat I swapped the bracelet for the OEM silk nato.Apart from giving the piece a whole new look its cool, comfortable and simple to adjust. The cost might seem high but so is the quality and I find rubber to be clammy.Cheers.
I adore everything about it except the gilting and the faux rivets... but I understand that both features are faithful replication of the original 1954 product. What I really appreciate about BB54 is that it clinches the market trend's return to smaller watches. Other brands like Omega will feel the pressure for sub-40mm offerings. And guess what? There's already a rumor that Blancpain's monstrous 45mm Fifty Fathoms will finally offer 38-40mm models soon. Watches are getting tasteful again!
I saw one in a display case and dismissed it based on the size. It looked ridiculously small next to the 39+ mm Tudors. Now I'm wishing I had tried it on, but I still think it would be too dainty on my 7.25 inch wrist.
It’s whether you need a timer of a gmt then because they’re both good everyday pieces. I’ve had the 54 on for 3 months now if you have any questions about it
Owning the Zulu time. It’s a great watch. I am still gravitating towards the 54. While Zulu time is more watch for money you pay. I think the 54 is a beautiful watch. Waiting to handle one personally.
does put things into perspective, esp with Rolex Submariners...it wears so well on the wrist....do I still need the 41mm Sub and yes, this vid is the best for BB54...esp the wrist-shot- on-the-road scenes. wonder if the blue will be available anytime soon?
Just bought BB54 this week. For a first time Tudor/Rolex buyer, the bracelet wear extremely comfortable on my 5.9 inch skinny Asian wrist. I have no negative thing to say about the design, it’s perfect even with faux rivet bracelet. The lume is a bit weaker than I expected but overall, great watch
The Rolex is generally uncomfortable in my opinion as I have warned one for a while. Just curious if you think this is primarily due to the fact that it is considerably smaller, the 54, and lighter? I mean, is there some dynamic my principal this make you more comfortable or pretty much just because it's someone petite? It sure is gorgeous!
THAT is the question! Can’t go wrong with either one and they’re both beautiful watches in person. Definitely a personal preference though. Good luck and congrats 🤙
Gilt in the Dial. No gilt on the bezel. Skip and wait for their other iteration next year. But i love the female endlinks, glide lock clasp and the quality finish.
I own the 58 in blue at the moment and I’m not planning on letting it go so I’m asking myself is it going to be too similar or do they both have their place in a collection. Right now I’m thinking they both deserve a place in my collection so what do you think ?
Nice but when the METAS 58 and 58 GMT come out these will be getting dumped on EBay like the BB PRO and Pelagos 39 because of thickness problems and quality issues 😬
@@dstfno the Black Bay Pro is almost 15mm thick 😬 the GMT and Chronograph are also much too thick and look even thicker because of the awful slab sides.
The same watch in 39 mm, without fake rivets, a ceramic crown, an L916 steel bracelet and a transparent back to matte the movement would be the almost perfect watch.
@dellwright1407 we are all entitled to our opinions - I personally think they look ok, and as for authenticity, that’s pretty irrelevant in todays luxury watches
@dellwright1407 I’ve had the Black Bay GMT for about 18 months now, which still presents large despite their bevelling of the bottom edge (just smoke and mirrors!). As for the rivets, I’m pretty indifferent - with or without they’re still very appealing, even if their wearability is a little problematic at times. I’m also very keen to try on the 54, it certainly looks the part.
what the hell is the problem with people and the rivets? thats all I ever hear people bitching about with Tudor. its not even that noticeable of a feature and its something original that ties it to the past but hell what do I know about whats hip in the watch industry?
Too much information delivered in too fast a pace, in my opinion. I would have enjoyed the video more if you talked more slowly and paused when changing theme / topic. Now it sounds as if you are reading a script too fast, without pausing where it is natural - and necessary.
The dial part is what turn me off. Is it brown? Is it black? Is it matt? Is it shinny? Pick one man. The dial is kind of brownish, and shinny in some angle. In some angle, it's black and brown in different spots. Bruh.
Honestly with TH-camrs raved about Tudor (seriously when they did not) as usual, BB54 is just a homage diver for smaller wrists. Marketing aside my honest opinion BB58 will be best fit for most wrists. Just like SKX007/SKX013, different size for different wrist. No need to overreact for this release. It is just another Black Bay diver. It is getting boring with all the variants.
Though I will never claim that Tudor is original in their designs, this watch is among the best if you want a quality watch that looks like a vintage sub.
What a dainty little piece. It looks nice on the surface but it's too small. There's no red triangle at 12, no half-links, terrible lume, and a tiny hard-to-use crown. Yet again, Tudor fails enthusiasts.
It does not look too small on his wrist. It actually looks perfect on his wrist, adopting a minimalist type of style where it is at a minimum size that still can read the time clearly.
Coming from a Rolex 16570 I absolutely LOVE my BB54. It's everything I love about vintage watches but with modern tech and build quality. It hasn't left my wrist for the last 2 months!
When I see BB54 review clip. I click.
Me too 😂 even though i already own the watch

Hasn't left my wrist since getting it home. My desire for a Submariner is now absent. I can't find a flaw. I'm in love
I 100% agree. Much better than a sub!

@@RabbitWatchShop fully agree! Same counts for the bb36 which I'd choose over an OP or an Explorer. Tudor is winning!
Best review I’ve seen, the wrist pics were brilliant
Soo nice and refined. The size is perfection

Superb review. Great shots. I'm praying for a blue model next year. Instant buy

Nice. Really want this watch. Split between this or the Zulu Time 39 as my first luxury pieces.
Both good choices I think, certainly worth trying them on.
Resist the temptation to sell a kidney and buy both.

Zulu time you won't regret it

@@pratikl2000 For sure! I just ordered the 54 on Friday :) can’t wait.
Best review of the BB54 on TH-cam
Excellent video. Love my BB54 since day one, I prefer it over the P39 which isn't getting much wrist time.
I have this watch it’s beautiful. Also the review was brilliant. Far better than hodinkees attempt. Subscribed.
Agreed, couldn't handle the sloth pace of that reviewer's voice lol.
Hodinkee tries too hard to be cool when doing a watch review
how much did you get it for? in my ad they were selling at retail and still on a waiting list
Hope they bring out an Opaline dial version with a Jubilee bracelet:) great breakdown thanks !

The MT5400 is a master chronometer? I thought it was just COSC certified.

Best watch I have put on regarding comfort. I currently own these watches.
Rolex submariner, black bay ceramic, and omega seamaster 300P.

I decided to get this over the IWC Ingenieur. It's clean, simple without date and has a much better t-link clasp adjustment.
Tudor BB 54 a real Champion 🖤
The rivets on the bracelet add to the historical accuracy of the look especially on the 54. It would look less accurate without them
would love to see you make a review for Tag heuer Carrera 36mm, love your videos though
Love it!! Perfect size
Surprised how large it looks in the distant shots considering your wrist size, think it’ll be perfect for my 7.5” wrist
Day 21 of watching this video and waiting to get a call.... I can't wait.
Glad I found you - thanks🎉
Planning to get my first Tudor - BB54 or Tudor GMT Pepsi?
THAT is the question! Can’t go wrong with either one and they’re both beautiful watches in person. Definitely a personal preference though. Good luck and congrats 🤙
what I wish for the 54 model is a blue version, crownguards and jubilee option

Beautiful but still waiting for a 39mm gmt
Hello, I have the watch on a rubber strap. I would like to get the metal strap to go with it. Do you know how much I'll pay for it?
This watch would be perfect if the dial was matte black it's super disappointing. What is your wrist size though?
Tudor has my full attention now.
Just wish they would quit with the faux rivets and make the bezel bi-directional like the original.
I enjoyed your review but found the pace of your delivery a little too fast making it hard to follow.
Nice but when the METAS 58 and 58 GMT come out these will be getting dumped on EBay like the BB PRO and Pelagos 39 because of thickness problems and quality issues 😬
No they won’t lol
Which thickness problems?

Not!

I’ll never understand why people have such a problem with the faux rivets.

The colors make this watch 😊 Could have done with being just a little larger in diameter.
I would stack this watch with other soft bands and strings to give it more wrist presence. It is small.
Awesome watch, especially on the rubber, but the hour and minute hands look like ~3mm too long too me, weirdly out of shape 🤔
what the hell is the problem with people and the rivets? thats all I ever hear people bitching about with Tudor. its not even that noticeable of a feature and its something original that ties it to the past but hell what do I know about whats hip in the watch industry?
Why don't people like the faux rivets? They dont look bad at all
Now for Tudor, to reduce the Pepsi GMT.

Bb54 or Tudor submariber 75190 ?
Looks great but 37mm is smaller for my wrist 👆👆
remove the rivets and chamfers on the bracelet, slap on a red/burgundy/yellow dial and this thing will sell like mad mad mad mad mad
and the fugly shaped hour hand, then its a true nod to the heritage. doing it right.
Great proportions. The 58 wears too large imo

Too simple and generic for my taste. Of course Pelagos is more expensive but way better watch and worth of extra money.
