My hair was colored bright blue when my brother got married and I was a bridesmaid in his wedding. While dress shopping, my mom asked if I was going to color it a natural color for the wedding. My now sil jumped in and said, "No way! I love her hair the way it is!" She was the absolute opposite of a bridezilla, and I adore her!

I was a bridesmaid in two weddings one summer, and unfortunately, my bf of 3 years and I broke up right before. I had the whole "brand new look" post breakup panic! I asked both brides beforehand about my planned drastic color and cut...going from shoulder length blonde to a black bob with blue underneath!
They readily agreed and even encouraged the look. To be fair, though, it helped that they both had the same wedding color--shades of blue. Hence why I chose blue as the under color.

I was uninvited as a MOH for being fat. I was fat when she asked me, so….🤷🏽♀️?
I am disabled and have chronic illnesses that cause me to be unable to walk long and to get dizzy and overheated and can pass out if I can’t sit down immediately. So I generally use a walker when I leave home. I have it all decorated up and use it at concerts and events, and it serves me well.
I was told by what I thought was a friend that she could not have me as a bridesmaid cause she did not want someone using a cane or walker at her wedding and her venue was not accessible so she couldn’t even invite me. But then said “but isn’t it sweet that I thought of you?”
Last time I spoke to her. I was close to shoving my cane where the ass don’t shine.

Just here to say, I'm very similarly disabled.
As someone who has actual Merida hair (as soon as the trailer for Brave dropped, my friend was freaking out that I looked just like the new Disney princess). If someone told me to dye my hair for their wedding, I would not be attending. Period. As cheesy as it sounds, my hair is a part of who I am. If you don't want my hair in your pictures, you don't want me in your pictures so why would I waste my time with you?

Honestly long hair is like having another creature growing out of your head and the fact that some people think it’s just that easy to cut it off, when you’ve put literal years into maintaining this living thing growing out of your head is…insane. I encourage all people to go short just once in their lives to experience what is like to not have to take care of long hair. But I’ve been growing my hair out for close to 4, almost 5 years now and the thought of something happening to the length makes me a little feral.

I'm not a hairdresser, but a similar situation happened at the restaurant I work at years ago. I only waited until the bride and the others left to tell the chick who was being picked on that what she was going through was not okay. I think a waitress telling her this made her realize that things are not fine. It took some convincing but I managed to get her to block them, pay for her own food, and leave. The others went shopping while their food was cooking.
Those girls didn't realize that their punching bag had left until it was time to pay the bill. They tried contacting her only to discover that they were blocked, and here's the tea, she was their only ride free of charge. I was still civil to them, so they didn't suspect me of ruining their plans. I've seen others in this situation and would try to help, but ultimately the people pleasers have be the ones who decide they've had enough of being treated like crap. That's coming from someone who used to be a people pleasers until I got sick of being disrespected

In my wedding I had 4 bridesmaids A platinum blond, a natural redhead, a girl with curly black hair with a natural white stripe down the middle and my maid of honor who likes to experiment with her hair. Ill be dammed if any of them changed their hair (to fit an aesthetic) for 'my day' my queens slayed standing next to me and each of them were absolutely gorgeous.
The first red hair one was crazy, in my mind a peacock theme wedding with a natural red head would be f-ing gorgoussss

My brother was a groomsman and he happened to be on crutches due to a knee injury. My bridesmaids added flowers and ribbons to his crutches. I’d totally forgotten about it until now. The photos are priceless.

My grandfather used those crutches that go under your armpits, and he had a large tule bow with flowers for decoration for the wedding on one of them. I'm sure my mother gave him that, our "wedding car" was an old greyhound bus that took the entire wedding party from the location of the ceremony to the venue, so my mother had made a large fabric bow with flowers to put in the front of the bus, and my grandfather's bow was of the same fabric. 😁

As a redhead, I was SO bullied all the way through my 20’s even at work. I now have three kids. One redhead, one blonde, and one brunette. All with red highlights, so I’ve done my job in expanding ginger genes into humanity. ❤

Can make anyone be their worst but the guys usually don't have a lot of stress or planning to deal with, they just turn up. In so many situations all eyes are mainly on the female, often with a negative slant. Mothers , brides, wives, politicians, women in general are more likely to be given the brunt of the blame and shame....

When the bride told her to do what she could to get down the isle, I would have LOVED if she was able to fake fall and then try to crawl down to the alter where the other brides were.

We all look amazing at weddings, it is almost required that you do. In fact, the problem the brides might even have issues with you if you show up to their wedding looking mediocre or like you put in too little effort. I believe guests are obligated to come to my wedding and light up the place with their beauty😤😤 it is the least they can do 🙂🙂

My little sister (naturally a brunette that hadn't dyed it in years) showed up to my wedding with hair as red as a stop sign. She absolutely ROCKED it. She was beautiful, she felt confident, and that was exactly how I wanted her to feel standing up there with me.

My sister is a natural ginger. In 2005, we used the least permanent dye you could buy in stores - a very light brown "color rinse" that was meant to rinse out after 8-10 washes. It ended up staining her hair permanently, and even a color professional couldn't restore her natural color. We cut the last little bit of the off-colored hair off when she got a trim in 2015. Be so careful with your hair, my babies!

When I met my now husband, he was blond. A few months in, I found bleach in his bathroom. I asked him what color his hair is naturally. He said red. I requested that he stop bleaching it and he did. I love his red hair! Not many people are blessed with red/ginger hair and I think they should embrace it. I love it!

We had one girl in school with red hair. It was a natural, darker red and it was very curly. Her hair was beautiful. I'll never forget the day she showed up to class in a darker emerald green sweater. She was absolutely stunning. As a HS student I felt awkward saying something to her so I just kept it to myself. I ran into her about 6 years ago and mentioned it to her. It really made her day. She said her grandmother had bought her that sweater and it was her favorite sweater but she had forgotten about it. She still has that beautiful red hair and she still such a sweet person.

As someone who's dabbled in graphic design the first story really hurts my ears cause green and red are complementary colours so her hair would absolutely not ruin the colour scheme. That person has clearly never heard of colour theory or she has and she's worried her cousin is gonna outshine her. Red heads look so good in green/blue-green.

I’m a graphic designer, too. It’s not about color theory. The bride was jealous of Merida’s hair and was using her own wedding to try take the ex-bridesmaid “down a peg”. Clearly, this plan backfired and exposed who the bride really was to the whole friggin’ world!

I loved the fact that the veteran really stuck it up to her by continuing to use the mobility scooter even after the walking stick was returned. The husband should have abandoned her at the alter. She is not just a bridesilla, she is possibly a sociopath for hiding a walking stick from a disabled person. She is the kind of person who would possibly unplug the ventilator of a dying patient to charge her mobile phone.

I'm not a vet, but I am disabled and starting to need a cane in my late 30s. If I knew I would face that sort of thing, discrimination at a friend's wedding, I'd have prepared a Gandalf height light up one with leds, streamers, glitter, and a bubble machine. Or I'd like to say, but I don't think I'd have the balls. Good on her though! I'd definitely stop being friends with said person immediately after the wedding though. We are not accessories in Barbie's dream house! None of us are. We're effin people with emotions, thoughts, dis/abilities, flaws, different size and shaped bodies, and skin and hair in all kinds of natural and altered colors! Don't treat people like props. That's gross.

When my sister got married our dad had just started using a cane regularly. There was never any question about if he would walk her or if his cane was "acceptable".
What a blessed life that bridezilla must've led to become a whole friggin adult and never needed crutches, braces, mobility aids, etc, and have no understanding that while a disabled person might not be dragging their legs behind them they still need an aid to walk. The chronic pain and illness community is full of people with all levels of ability from unaided to chairbound. There are people who only use a walker or chair for long distances or during a flare-up, while others need them for any distance. The thing that really gets me is that so many of us go through so much extra pain and difficulties to not stand out, be a bother, draw attention, or look out of place. The last thing any of us needs is a "friend" invalidating us. Her parents raised her wrong if she thinks that's how things work.

I complained to my best friend how my aunt (our resident hair dresser) had refused to dye my hair purple last time, because of an important family event and I said fair enough, but we're doing it after.. That was year and a half ago.. My best friend told me that I better dye it purple by the time she's getting married later this year and I can't express how much I love this girl..
The last story, Bridezilla against the cane reminds me a little of my own wedding. One of my brides maids ended up tearing her ACL. She needed crutches to walk. I didn't complain or try to get her to give up the crutches. I called the florist and asked for some flowers to decorate her crutches. It looked amazing. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff.

Last story: In some places, it can be seen as assault since mobility aids and prosthetics are an extension of the person using it. Especially if said aid is returned with any damage or has to be replaced. So yeah, there’s that.
I wondered if charges could be pressed. She's purposely putting that person in possible danger. Reckless endangerment maybe? Idk. Also it's kind of theft too. She stole something that clearly wasn't hers. Well, maybe there's no physical proof for charges, but everyone probably knew it was her after that comment.
@@puredemon5926 in this case, I think the scooter is a great punishment for Bridezilla. Every time she thinks about or sees pictures of her wedding, that scooter will come to mind and upset her. Hehehe. If the cane had been bent or broken, that’d have been a different story.
I’m so thankful on OPs behalf that another bridesmaid warned her. I have a genetic disorder that I sometimes have to use my own aids. The panic I’d feel if it went missing is intense. Heck, once I thought I left my cane in the bathroom at an airport and had a small panic attack. I was using the airport wheelchair and the wrist strap was on the handles behind me.
Funny story: I had a giraffe knock my cane into their enclosure at the zoo and had to come back the next day for it. Was a rough night back home bc I was reliant on my cane at that point. Was so glad the giraffes didn’t step on it.

My Dad has developed extremely serious mobility issues in the last few years.
If he was in a wheel chair or with a walker and someone took the item, he would absolutely be in dire straits and serious danger of (further) injury.
@@UTU49 when I was in my 20s, my neurological condition forced me to relearn how to walk. I’m doing a lot better now but still have aids available if it acts up again.
I’m sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he gets better. Watch out if someone tries to move him without consent. That’s also assault in some states. It can be seen as if they pushed/shoved an able bodied person to the side. (If it’s a quick move like at a grocery store.)

I love that she went out of her way to find an obnoxiously colored sparkly scooter. Her point would have still been made been with a standard grey or red one, but the rainbow sparkles are just icing on the cake 🤣
Story 2 just broke my heart. Notice that not only did the bride give her the wrong time so she couldn't get a makeover, she told her NOT to wear makeup and didn't tell her about the matching theme. The other bridesmaids had matching shirts and they didn't even give her a heads up about the color. Also, even if the the bride shouldn't pay, there are TWO other bridesmaids there that should have split the cost for the bride. I would have quit as a bridesmaid right then.

When I got married, we had all the people we loved at our wedding - some had disabilities (we had elderly relatives and a large number of veterans at our wedding, & our prime concern was their comfort), others were FAR better looking than me, none of it was a problem! I can't think of anything worse than expecting them to look like anything other than themselves! If anything, I was honoured that they showed up to celebrate with us and put the effort in to looking fabulous and/or struggling with their symptoms so that they could spend some time with us on our special day.
The stick my grandmother had in our pictures reminds me that, despite being sore and suffering from a myriad of ailments, she refused to sit down, fussed over everyone, and even had a little boogie! 😂💖😍 The wheelchair one of our friends was using (he is a veteran and an amputee) reminds me of how much we all laughed when he told my grandmother (after she'd had a few sherries) "your chariot awaits", sat her on his chair, and provided her with a taxi service to the comfy chairs. And when he did his "I appear to have lost my leg" routine and made her squeal and then laugh and laugh 😂
My husband's beautiful cousin wore a dress she had made herself and she looked sensational. I wasn't even thinking about being "upstaged" - instead I was honoured by how much work she had put into her outfit to celebrate with us (she spent months making it). It wasn't white, she wasn't trying to be the bride - she was trying to be her, which is what we wanted, or we wouldn't have invited her! When I got married, my cousin wore her 4h letterman’s jacket and jeans. She was still in my photos and Indid not care. I got the dress on and just enjoyed my day. It was fun and I’m glad she was a part of it.

Life is really all about perspective! I don’t understand some of the crazy wedding views people have. There are SOOO many women who dream of finding someone to love them and want to spend the rest of their lives together-and unfortunately they won’t get that. These people upset over someone’s hair color(I’m a ginger too!) needs a perspective change!

We all shined together !! If you don’t want to be up staged then have no bridesmaids.
My bestie couldn't understand that at my wedding I DIDN'T want her to cover her tattoos and take out her piecings as everytime she has been a bridemaid she has had too (she was my MOH). It's what makes her individual, and that's what I love about her. I didn't even tell her how to have her hair or how to do her make-up. I would NEVER change a hair on her head.
That's because you're a good friend to your friends, I'm much older now bumping 40 but it was horrible for anyone (note the women) when I was a kid, tattooed weren't even invited because "eeeeew it looks awful", piercings HAD to be removed, scars were embarrassing to the family along with special needs family members and with the piercing folks they'd be wailed on all week long about how "you look so much better without those disgusting things stuck in you, get rid of them".
Honestly it was like we were no longer people but art exhibitions.
I only would ask a very offensive tattoo to be covered, crazy she had to do it so often!

Look as a hairdresser I can easily say that first bride is insane. Ginger hair naturally or dyed is almost impossible to dye or bleach. It’s really hard to cancel out the copper tones in red hair and red pigment is notoriously a hairdresser’s worst nightmare. It’s so hard to destroy without frying the hair and making it brittle.
Yup! And virgin hair typically takes hair color very well. I colored my hair red (naturally VERY dark brown hair) without any bleach and it took A LOT to cover it up once it faded. Colored it brown twice after and just gave up and grew out my hair and then did a huge chop to get rid of it😂

I have worn wigs in the past when I had hair of that exact length and braiding it up to fit under a wig cap and the pinning a wig on top makes your head feel like it’s going to explode. Hair is heavy. Then a wig on top… oh and can’t forget the heat. It gets sooo hot under a wig.

If she had been vulnerable and said “you are much better looking than me especially with your beautiful hair I am going to look bad in comparison, would you mind putting your hair in a bun so that everyone doesn’t just say “now THAT girl will be a beautiful bride” on my wedding day” … then I think that would have been more reasonable. I still wouldn’t have done it. It wouldn’t have occurred to me and frankly I am not a cute person. But it would have been at least honest.
At my wedding many years ago, I selected fabric and then had the bridesmaids and flower girls select the pattern design that would work for them. After being in several weddings, I realized that there wasn’t a particular design that would work for different body types. I also wanted the dresses to be something that they might be able to wear later, if they chose to do that. By the way, my husband and I will be celebrating our anniversary in a month (after 32 years).
I basically did the same for my wedding-we just celebrated 26 years together. Maybe if there’s less stress from the start, the marriage works better overall?

14 WASHES IS NOT TEMPORARY. That is ridiculous. That's potentially 4 months, depending on how often she washes, and any dye that lasts that long will leave stains in virgin hair. Also ginger hair, even "flaming" Auburn hair, is gorgeous with peacock themed colors. Gingers are so striking in purples, greens and blues. My grandmother does have flaming Auburn hair and she wore a turquoise wedding dress at her wedding a few years ago. People still rave about how gorgeous she was in it and I will be jealous until I die because I will never look that good in turquoise as a brunette.
Blue is perfect with brown hair btw. It goes even better with brown than red sometimes so not sure why you're upset 😂
Since you sound like you know what you're talking about imma ask a dumb question...is "14 washes" like...14 washes as in if I get in the shower and literally wash my hair 14 times in one go it'll get out or does it have to be like over time necessarily?
I think you just got to the heart of the issue: This dumb bride chose peacock themed colours, which possibly did not flatter her particularly. They would, however, be the most perfect, most flattering colours for her red-haired bridesmaid. Sheer envy at work here.

@@haileym5912 14 times across a long time, you could wash your hair over a 100 times in a day and it won't get rid of the dye because the dye is set in. Washing helps to loosen the dye eventually but it just can't if the dye is fresh in the hair, think of it like buying a new shirt to when that shirt has aged and lost its once vibrant colour.

Oh, the hair one hit hard. -- I was pressured into bleaching my hair for my brother and SIL's wedding. The process took nine months and three trips to the salon with some heavy bleach to get the color out (it was a really pretty blue and purple gradient before I started stripping the color). I've had various fashion colors in my hair for nearly a decade, it's pretty much a part of me at this point (I've had pink, purple, green, blue, several mixtures of all of them, and go all the way to dying my eyebrows to match each time). I was bullied into bleaching my hair so as not to stand out in photos under the guise of "it won't age well". . . .I wasn't even in the bridal party, just family.
I'm still given shit for standing out because of the near white hair that is underneath the fashion color. Did I mention that I'm albino? I lack most pigmentation in my skin, eyes, and hair--so I'm super pale and my hair is ash blonde, nearly white. So I *still* stuck out in all the photos. I went to the salon three times, bleached my hair and risked it thinning or falling out. . .to only end up in the wedding album two times. I'm in two photos. I stuck out so much that they basically cropped me out wherever I was.
I'm still so, so, so bitter and angry that I allowed myself to be bullied into changing myself for that freaking wedding.

OMG. I married older. I was 40 and my MOH little sister was 22. She was in college, so I knew she had little time to do the traditional MOH stuff. I did most of the planning with her opinions when she had time.I knew she got by on a server's salary, so I gave her a list of colors and told her to pick anything she felt comfortable and beautiful in. She looked STUNNING and I simply was so thrilled to have her next to me on the happiest day of my life. These families blow my mind.❤😮

My so-called “bestie” just lied to me said she was “just having witnesses,” and no moh or bridesmaids…and no room for me. Then she criticized the dress I planned to wear, and that was the end for me. Our friendship took a long break and really has never been the same since. Years and years later, I caught a glimpse of one her wedding photos and she did indeed have bridesmaids and a moh.
Nobody's hair is ruining any colour scheme when the wedding colours are blue, green and purple. Already done that herself.

I’ve been to some weddings where there were some super hot, incredibly beautiful bridesmaids that were clearly better looking than the bride, but they never draw attention away from the bride, at least not for more than a casual glance. The bride is ALWAYS the center of attention and people don’t even remember the bridesmaids. The bride always is remembered as being at her best and the star of the show!
That last story made my fucking day!! OMG You GO girl!! For context, I'm a wheelchair user (manual chair/non electric) and several years ago I had the pleasure of being Maid of Honor at my cousin's wedding. Beautiful ceremony and I was honored to be a part of it. Hearing this last story gave me an absolute sadistic chuckle as using mobility aids in a bridal party is no big deal (nor should it ever be seen as such) and it is still and always will be the bride's big day. That said, your bridal party are not your Barbie dolls to play with as you see fit. They're human beings and your friends/family. They deserve your respect/gratitude. Good on this girl for getting such sweet revenge! That was glorious!
Yep! I don't have any friends and I'm actually nice to the people I consider friends (even acquaintances) I'd be so happy to have one let alone multiple people attend! I don't understand how they have friends and I don't (except me being terrified around crowds and only being able to have one best friend at a time, I Feel like there's too much judgement happening with multiples)

I do not understand what bride expected to happen when she took away the walking stick. I thought it was gonna be she struggled down aisle on her own and when she fell/stopped for support/struggled, it would make bride look absolutely shitty. But the mobility scooter was chef’s kiss. Bride can’t complain about it because what can she say? ‘Oh she lost her walking stick but omg she could have tried to walk down the aisle without it.’ Everyone would have known what an asshole she was so now she just has to stew.
Man, i made the point to make CLEAR to my bride's maids that I wanted them to pick dresses they felt good in. I gave them a generalized fall color scheme, and told them to pick a color they thought suited them best, and we all voted on a fabric we liked best, and everyone left happy with their dress! I want the people I love that love me to feel beautiful and feel their best.
Years ago, I altered dresses for a wedding. The bride had told her attendants to wear whatever sort of printed knee length dresses they liked. The men wore khakis, white shirts and each wore a different colored vest
Not surprisingly, she is still married 15 years later. Actually, her married siblings are still with their original spouses, too. (The oldest must be coming up on 25 years or so)

I just don't get it either. I let so many people make decisions and planning was still stressful. I let my mother pick the flowers, my aunt picked the table settings, my color theme was picked by whatever dress we found off the rack for the bridesmaids, and I didn't even bother picking out my cake - I just told the catering company what my color theme was. The only thing I did pick was the tux and my husband changed that to something ridiculous. It so does not matter.
I love that! I did the same thing with my bridesmaids. The bridal salon employee directed us to the dresses that had the color I wanted and I basically told them to go nuts. 😂
One bridesmaid got hers altered by our friendly neighborhood seamstress. It looked way different. She looked amazing and it checked all of her boxes. My MOH's dress was my favorite.
Because they were happy, I was happy. ❤
Mom of a strawberry blonde here. My daughter has the most beautiful hair you've ever seen. People at amusement parks would stop her, walk around her, and asked where she got her hair done. She'd say God lol. One of the most heartbreaking moments for me was when as a child she asked to dye her hair brown to fit in with my first husband's family. I now have another strawberry blonde, my granddaughter ❤

I know I'm old and was married 34 years ago but wow! I never thought of their hair color or style, just having my good friends and relatives with me to celebrate.
My best friend walked down the aisle as my man of honor in his signature plaid sleeveless button down. He doesn’t really wear anything else 98% of the time. It was an otherwise quite formal wedding party. He made sure the colors in it matched well. He asked me if I wanted him to wear a suit, but I knew he would be extremely uncomfortable and just not look like himself. I told him to wear whatever he was comfortable in. Actually I told everyone in the wedding party that. It was beautiful to have everyone look like themselves in the photos.
I did the same with mine. Although I wore a wedding gown, I told my MoH & BM to wear what they had in their closet that was "fall colored." Anything orange, burgundy, red, yellow, brown, etc. I didn't care if they wore slacks, jeans or dresses. My husband (now ex) wore a tux & his GM wore jeans & a nice shirt (same fall color theme). I told all of my guests to wear what was comfortable, as most were driving from 1-3 hours away. Some stayed the night at the lodge & cabins & dressed up a little more (the parents mainly), but I wanted everyone to be casual & relaxed.
The pics turned out beautifully, especially with the trees changing colors in the background!!

It has a red band on the label. You can get it at Walmart or Amazon. My hair is also very fine so I had a hard time finding something that didn't make it look greasy or heavy. I use a pea sized amount but don't put it on my roots. I also like Not Your Mother's leave in conditioner spray in the white & purple bottle. If I want to really define my waves I wash it with the Carol's Daughter black vanilla shampoo and don't use conditioner. I use the NYM conditioner spray after and wrap it in a towel until it's almost dry, then come through and put the styling cream on and dry with a diffuser. I hope that helps! ❤️
The issues I have with styling products is they are either too heavy, too crunchy or too waxy/oily. I want the definition but I would like to be able to adjust my hair if I wanted to put it half up etc

As a disabled lady who can't walk without 2 crutches and I sometimes I need a wheelchair, I personally refuse to be a bridemaid/MOH. I don't want my crutches in her wedding photos (she doesn't care)
I have just found out a bestie is getting married and wants me to be the MOH. I've said no but I will help with everything.
She has said we will have a runner with my crutches. So when it comes to walking down the airle I will walk arm in arm with my hubby (who will be the best man) to support me, then in the photos I will always be stood next to someone who can help support me and my crutches will be bought to and from me during breaks in the photos. So she has already come up with a suitable solution which a true bestie will do if they 100% want you to be part of the wedding. The issue is with me not wanting to ruin her photos with my crutches which is why I said no in the first place. No wasn't an option to her because I'm important to her and she love me crutches and all
My daughter is a full-time wheelchair user. She was born with spina bifida and has been paralyzed from the hips down her whole life. There is absolutely nothing wrong with needing ability aides!!!! Your self hatred hurts others with disabilities. Please get help to love yourself as you are!

It is just a preference that I don't want to be in her photos with crutches. It's also about not being potentially well enough on the day to help support her on her special day.

She was Little Miss Pleasant Prairie, a singer, a dancer and actress who recently had her biggest part as Spot Conlon in NEWSIES. She has been a bridesmaid twice and a flower girl once. She also raised a million dollars to build a fully accessible playground to Kenosha WI. Everyone with a disability is only as ashamed of it as they want to be. Let's bring awareness instead of shame!
@rhiannon7163 and you should be proud of your daughter. The difference is that I wasn't born disabled. My disabilities kicked in only 5 years ago. I'm 40 years old. Sorry if it takes some getting used to being disabled. That doesn't mean I'm not doing my best. It means I'm only human. But just because I don't want to do certain things because of how tired and how my disabilities affect me, I'm entitled to do as I seem fit for my disabilities. A full day of standing and being in a formal dress will not only be uncomfortable but also put me in bed for a week, which means I then can't prioritise my children and their needs. This means my hubby has to then work full-time, then come home and deal with everything that needs to be done here.

For anyone wanting an example of a bride handling bright hair colors properly, my sister-in-law handled my dyed auburn hair so well. My hair was a curly bob that is naturally dark brown (nearly black) and I had been dyeing it auburn for a few years. I was asked to be a bridesmaid and I don’t even fully remember if I asked her if my hair color was okay, lol. I was way more concerned with the length because she wanted us to have our hair up, and short hair is harder to work with in that respect. I grew it out as much as possible to respect her, but curly doesn’t show length very quickly. She was totally understanding and never demanded anything from me in regards to this. She didn’t even ask me to grow it out, that was my choice when she communicated that she wanted our hair up. Anyway, I made sure to have my hair freshly dyed so that it looked as nice as possible for the wedding and not faded. I was the only bridesmaid with a “non-natural” hair color and my sister-in-law could not have cared less. I got my hair done by another bridesmaid in an updo and did all the photos in our light sage green dresses. When they should me the photos of the wedding later, I was surprised to see my color was actually brightened by the photographer. Like it stood out in a really nice way in the photos! My sister-in-law told me directly that I looked gorgeous in the photos. Never once was she concerned about me “upstaging” her with my hair color. It’s really not that hard to be reasonable, people!
Can you imagine being the security guard trying to decide which shades of blue, green and purple are appropriate for wedding guests to wear? This bride is a psycho. I would never go along with someone asking me to color or chop my hair so they look prettier. Temporary hair color is not always temporary. I've used it many times and it never washed out.

I had one of bridesmaids call me a bit before the wedding. She was hemming and hawing and I finally asked her, what is going on? She admitted she was pregnant--her 3rd. I was so happy for her and congratulated her. She wanted to know if her being preg during the wedding was a problem. I told her that I did NOT expect her to put her life of hold, for my wedding. She was thoroughly welcome, along with her new figure. My wedding is a FAMILY event, everyone of any age is welcome.
Of course the bride was jealous, that red hair was absolutely gorgeous!!! Man I’d LOVE hair like that! She made a comment about the bride always teasing her that her hair was too frizzy and I was like 😳what?!? Absolutely gorgeous, red WITH curls?!? To die for!!!

My sister broke her foot a week before my wedding but didn’t want to miss being in the wedding party, so she came down the aisle with crutches and a foot cast and literally NO ONE cared. For me it was more important to have her present and comfortable.

I'm with you! When hubs and I got married twenty-one years ago, I wanted the people I loved to feel confident and comfortable.
It never occurred to me that anyone would overshadow me with their beauty, or whatever these brides think. Back then, I wasn't confident about my appearance, but my wedding day never felt like a beauty pageant. The point of the day was to marry the best person I've ever known, and to share the experience with those who were important to us. I was so happy and excited on our wedding day that I _felt_ more beautiful than I ever had before. Even though I'm not photogenic, those feelings were so clearly written on my face that I was positively radiant, even in our pictures.

We had a wedding reception in our event room the other day. The couple was middle aged (good on them, but it makes what the bride does even wilder) and they had about 30 friends and family with them. Everyone had a blast and the bride and groom hugged us, thanking us for making their dream wedding happen.
After the friends and family had left, we gave them their bill and helped them get everything in order. They took some of their things out to the car.
Then, they flat out disappeared. For like 40 minutes. $1200 bill unpaid.
We got our manager and she called the number they left on their reservation, asking if everything was okay. The groom assured us that everything was fine and he was coming inside right now.
I guess his bride has lost her purse and in her mix of high emotions, alcohol consumption, and probable sleep loss, “lost her f**** mind”, the groom said. Took her dress off and threw a naked fit on the ground in our parking lot. On a Saturday night. At 9 pm.
I felt so bad for the dude. What a way to end your wedding. Never seen anything like it.

I love the red haired cousin's hair. It is absolutely beautiful! I think that the bride was jealous of the cousin's hair and was in fact fearful that she would stand out. Good for her for dropping our of the wedding.
My hair was Emerald green at my friend's wedding. She loved my colorful hair and two of her favorite pictures of her wedding day was when I visited her in the bridal suite while she was getting her hair done and gave her my gift and the other was of us hugging on the dance floor with her in her gorgeous wedding dress. She sent me them and said she loved them because I looked so pretty too. She's a sweetheart and I love her! Her husband and her are about to celebrate their first Anniversary later this month and they're also getting ready to welcome their first baby to the world too. Real friends love you no matter what you look like or how you dress, because they love you for who you are.
I’ve said this on another video but in my culture (Lebanese), if you don’t look your absolute best on a wedding it is actually a sign of disrespect for the whole wedding. All girls glam up completely from head to toe, most of them get their makeup done by professionals for the day. And no one can EVER upstage the bride because the wedding gowns are absolutely gorgeous and the hair and makeup are another level amazing! This is just insane!

Charlotte, to the first story where "merida red hair" was quoted, Merida is a Disney princess you would love. A Scottish lass with big long curly ginger hair who doesn't let people tell her what she should do, you would love her! The movie is called BRAVE, i highly recommend you give it a watch
I cannot believe Charlotte doesn't realize the name or hasn't seen the movie. Merida is our ginger queen. I was already an adult when Brave came out but it became my favorite Disney Pixar movie. Merida is a freaking badass.

My daughter has the EXACT SAME HAIR as the girl who didn't attend her cousins wedding. Inside the house in "man made light" it's more of a strawberry blonde, but when we go outside she is a REDHEAD FOR SURE! ❤ if someone tried to make her change or hide it I would have A FIT!

My wedding dress was a "off the rack" plumb red almost prom/bridesmaid type dress that I wore for my military ball that I couldn't believe I could still fit and literally only wore for that one occasion and had everyone who saw it before the wedding going bananas because "I should be spending more money on the outfit for the biggest day of my life." I could have gotten the dress bleached white if I wanted to but I LOVED THE COLOR!!!! PERIOD..
I told everyone to "Just wait and you'll see!!!" So my wedding rolls around and everyone is FLOORED at how beautiful it was...
I had it lightened as much as possible and kept the original look which was long in the back and high thigh revealing in the front.
Well fast-forward about 5 years and the one person who had the biggest problem (My baby-baby sister) is sitting with me in my room and finds a way to make her way into my closet and all of a sudden has my dress in her hands saying "You know what would be nice??!!!! If you let me HAVE this for my wedding!!" But wait... I thought you said it was a bad idea and I should be putting more money into the biggest day of my LIFE!!!
"Well I didn't think it was going to be this beautiful and plus we can use it to start a tradition with. Like a mother (we lost our mom young) passing a dress to her daughter and then I could pass it to mine. Would that be WONDERFUL?! "Let me guess.... You went over your budget and ONE THING that should have been #1 on the list, you left for the last minute and thought you could play the sympathy card with me right?!" "WELLLLLLLL!!! But you're my BIG SISTER don't you want me to be HAPPY!!!!! and you should be FLATTERED that I want to wear your dress despite the situation!!!!"
Long story short...... After making her sweat 50 cal. bullets for a while... I gave it to her and she looked WAAAY BETTER THAN I DID!!!!!! LOL
the other day we were going through HER CLOSET (SPRING CLEANING I GUESS) and guess who wants to wear it for their wedding next year.... YEP.... HER DAUGHTER!!!!!!

So sweet the dress is getting so much use instead of just sitting in a closet. Should have photos of the other members wearing it on their days near the sign in book. By the time the next generation begins to share the dress yalls photos with the dress will gain more and more meaning the more years pass by. It really is a lovely tale for a beloved heirloom. 🎉

First off; redheaded women are GORGEOUS!!! Secondly, my best friend of 21 years constantly dyes her hair hot pink, purple, blue, green, or all at the same time depending upon her mood. I would never ask her to change just for one stupid day. I love that she has that colorful personality and wants to express it on the outside as well.
I think the only reason to ask someone that dyes their hair to dye it again is to make sure their color is -vibrantly- exactly the color they want their hair. Not like 9 weeks past purple. Dye it purple again the night before, please and thank you.
@@samanthaash3944 totally agree and if the dye was really bad too. I get not wanting to be upstaged but I'd be mad if my wedding party didn't look/feel good. I was legit a little miffed with my mom's choice of dress even though we aren't close. She chose a very matronly monotoned sack-like dress with a jacket. I saw her more in something flowy or something to show her figure.
When i got married 22yrs ago, i couldn't care less what others wore! I was so happy to get married to the love of my life,and We had a blast!! I didn't have a color theme, nor did my wedding cost over 1000€! We had a small wedding and party,and it was the best day of our lives!! We still talk about it with my husband,and how happy we were and are!!!!
That lady said she was a veteran. Since the bride said that she’s gonna have to make do with what she can, if I was that veteran, I would’ve army crawled all the way down the aisle, while making disfigured faces as if I was crawling through the jungles of Vietnam, while shouting things like” don’t worry, Bubba, you’re gonna make it man!”
Love the last story. I’m glad she stuck it out, even though she had every right to never talk to her again, just to bug her by being in the scooter for 90% of the photos.
I absolutely loved the story! Especially since I had to use a walker for months last year, and I decorated it with flowers, which made my grandma mad, because in her opinion, disabled people should stay home and not draw attention to themselves. Meanwhile I got compliments almost weekly for the style 😎 go extravagant mobility aids!
@@lingodelfo5415 oh my goodness your own grandmother said that to you? Wow. My mom uses mobility aids from time to time, most of hers are decorated with tie dye duct tape. I wear hearing aids and mine are black and pink swirls, my last pair had glitter. My boys have had many styles from zebra stripes to red and orange.

I did learn that decorations cheer up everyone (especially kids) around you, including yourself, which is most important, and in my opinion also improves traffic safety, as you can't go unnoticed. Except once, when I got yelled at for sitting on the Walker in the disabled Part of The bus. They didn't notice the walker underneath all the vines and flowers 🤭

I went to my nieces wedding and I wore an off-white dress with sparkles in it, but I sent her a picture because I then thought about it being off-white, but it didn’t look like a wedding dress or anything like that I would never do that and asked her permission or if she thought it was too whiteand she said no auntie it’s absolutely fine. Thank you for caring enough to ask and I didn’t know her in the lease. She looked completely beautiful and stunning, but if she would’ve asked me to not wear it, I would’ve gladly went and got something else.
I had long (ass length) curly strawberry blonde hair when my BFF got married 30 years ago. The bride and other BMs were all light blondes, shoulder length max. No one ever said or mentioned anything, BUT we all got our hair done the morning of the wedding, and I sat in a hair salon for what seemed like hours waiting for all the other ladies to get their hair done for the wedding. I was a little worried, not gonna lie. But when my time came, the hairdresser literally took only 10 minutes to pin it up into a lovely up-do so that the length was not distracting for anyone, and TAH-DAH. That's all that was needed for this one. Literally a nice, classic up-do so as to not "outshine" the bride. Yeah, sometimes folks have hair that other people are jealous of; it's a pretty easy fix that does not require alarming ideas such as dyes or expensive wigs, wtaf.
I was extremely blessed in my family. My red hair came from my great grandmother whom everyone adored and missed very much. Every time I visited relatives, I was told that I was the spitting image of my great gran and people would hug me and cry tears of joy. Even when school bullies would come at me - I was secure in the knowledge that my red hair was a blessing and their rudeness never bothered me. Never let anyone dull your color - SHINE!

I bleached my hair paper white all my life. In my 30s I embraced my dark flaming red hair. I've been a Cosmetologist/Master Colourist for 35 years + so I've coloured my hair every coulor of the rainbow.
Now that people have seen my natural colour, they love it, but some are very jealous & tell me I should dye it some crazy colour, meh... Whatever... I love being a blue-eyed, red haired women😊❤😊

One of my bridesmaids had bright pink hair in my wedding. It was 10 years ago this year. Since then my bridesmaids and I have all grown up, started careers and families, and live all over the country. I love seeing her bright pink hair in the photos. It reminds me of our wild and free days.
As someone with mobility issues, that malicious compliance is *chef's kiss*. First time I was a bridesmaid, our bridezilla had myself and her other bridesmaid with mobility issues physically running (something neither of us could do without extreme pain) a bunch. Other bridesmaid with mobility issues dropped out after that. I stuck around to be complained to about my limp "ruining her choreography" when she was walking down the aisle. Surprisingly enough our friendship didn't last much after the wedding 😂
My daughter is a red head, the first disney princesses I showed and bought her were merida from BRAVE then anna from frozen. She has never been insecure about her hair, and i hope she never is in the future. She is gorgeous, and everyone should be able to feel comfortable with their image. ❤
