glad to have provided footage of the Famicom Mini and a photo of the FDS release of Super Mario Bros. can't wait for you to talk about the Super Famicom Box in a future video
Technically the Wii VC version of SMB does have savestates? When you exit out of the game and open it again it’ll start where you left off when you open it again
This is the first time I've heard of the Super Famicom Box and I'm hoping someday that the BIOS for it gets dumped so the original sprites featured can be perserved.
The FDS SMB1+SMB2J disk is interesting. From what I recall, in the original SMB2J you needed to flip to side B around World 4 or 5. I'm guessing in later prints they managed to fit the whole thing on one side of the disk? Either way pretty cool!
2:57 putting 175 hong kong dollars through an inflation calculator and then a hong kong dollar to usd calculator gives me about $70 USD if it was sold in the late 80s
6:38 If the vertical resolution of this game matches the 3DS upper screen's (Judging from the two rows of floor tiles - no cropped top and bottom pixels), then realistically it would only be horizontally stretched with a bilinear filter. On my 3DS screen, this doesn't look bad.
Yo! I also have the super famicom box, so cool to see someone talk about. I also have the original famicombox and mine also has a copy of Super Mario Bros. The black cartridges are so cool
another note. super Mario bros is in Animal Crossing for GameCube, you can't technically play it without cheats (though someone has made an e-reader dotcode for it, so you can play it on an unmodified GameCube without action replay.), but it's still there.
That's quite a lot of times, even more than me, and I've paid for it quite a few times! Famicom x2, FDS, PAL NES x2, All Night Nippon SMB, All Stars, Super Mario Collection (JP All Stars), SMB Deluxe x2, NES Classic (GBA), Famicom Mini (GBA), Wii Virtual Console, 3DS eShop (as an ambassador game) and Wii U eShop. So fifteen in total. I also have the Retrozone unofficial NES port of VS SMB, but that doesn't count as it's unofficial. Another version I'm not counting is the 3DS eShop release of SMB Deluxe. Even though I have it, I didn't pay for it. I got it for free from Nintendo as a reward for setting up a NNID account early.
I've only payed (officially) for this game 3 times, the Wii 25th anniversary disc, the 3ds virtual console and the Game & Watch I have paid like 7 times for it if NSO subscription renewal counts
This and sonic 2 are some of my most purchased game and it's like a disease at this point Edit: really like the remix of the Mario day theme from last year for the credits
My answer would be none, even though I did own the carts for NES orginal (with Duck Hunt) and the Super Mario Allstars. But the first was a gift (along with my NES), and the second was a trade of a gift (NBA Jam for SMAS. I'd gotten bored playing single player.) I didnt really start buying games until the N64. And, by the time of the GBA, I discovered flashcarts.
0:24 um actually it didn't start with Mario Bros., It started with Mario Bros. (for game & watch) where mario and luigi are working in a bottle factory, since that game came out before Mario Bros.
i bought smb on 3ds vc (i changed accounts because i thought you needed to in order to change mii and i didnt realise i could just edit my mii so i dont have it anymore that sucks but whatever), vs super mario bros on switch, nes classic (which i sold), super mario bros and super mario all stars on nso and the game and watch which has been lost ever since i moved house
But what's the verdict on people who think Mario started with 1981's Donkey Kong? Also, 22 times, good lord. How much did that cost in total, I wonder? A small fortune?
as a former pokémon-sheep, i always hated the idea of how often they tried to hammer kanto down our throats guess we were still on a ""better"" end 💀 especially with the eshop releases. buy on wii, it's registered to your account, but buy again on wii u, it's registered twice on your account, but buy it again on the 3ds.
Great video, but I personally believe that it’s better for companies to constantly re-release their games available for purchase, then do what they do with GameCube games and other games never making them able purchase again Nintendo would lose most of their piracy if they just continued releasing older titles or just making them be transferable
I have Wii VC Wii U VC Nintendo Switch Online (NES & All-stars, plus 35 when it was around) 35th anniversary Game & Watch Also what about Super Mario Maker? Theoretically every level could be remade in both games if not already being ported into them, right?
4:16 yeah your printing paper is old 😭 I don’t have any suggestions off the top of my head outside of SEIKO S-950 paper but that’s like half a roll. The GB Cam community has resources for newer paper you can get :D
i feel like if youre counting vs smb and luigi bros, mario 35 should count too right? it has every level in the original, just played with a different competitive context
@@TokuWaffle Sure, but thr same is true of the Switch Online versions of SMB and SMAS. The main reason I say it doesn't count is that Nintendo took it away.
i paid for it 0 times the only games i paid for is my switch games my ps3 games and my xbox 360 games and i pirated all my 3ds games and all my wii u games
I dont think that you paid for all those, you probably bought them used. So you paid maybe one original license, and the other ones you bought used, so you did not pay Nintendo for the copy but someone else did.
Well you actually shouldn’tcould those region differences orthe bundled gamw with other games, butit’s true that nintendo rereleased this game waaay too much whether in digital or physical form,i don’t know, they must be really really proud on this game because it seems like they want to let it know to everybody from old to new generations, But me,i,ve seen enough ,i know enough, how much more would they ever rereleased this game again in 1 form or another in whether future system?? Phew🤣
actually the super mario series started with mario bros (game & watch) (joke)
Hey there, can someone tell me what's mainline ?
@@Ninchat18 well I'm pretty sure everything is senseless. because there's no consensus
hai jan misali i love your videos sm especially your rhythm heaven iceberg
go back to jan misali land

Technically if you want to count everytime you renew NSO, you are legally paying for SMB an infinite amount of times
Subscription services are great! I love paying for the same thing over and over!
You can play the nes games even when your account expires
That's just rental
I have never seen that Super Famicom Box in my life, I’d love a dedicated video on it!
Next video: *How many times have I pirated Mario 1? (GONE WRONG) (I GET ARRESTED IN THE END)*
Only counting the times he paid for bootleg copies, I presume. He has legal access to the raw ROMs after all.
*(NOT CLICKBAIT!1!)*
For me only 1, on the ps vita
For me, like I own 1 legal copy of smb1. The rest are all… let’s call them backups of my 1 legal copy 😉
Hearing a 2A03 arrangement of Every Day Is a Mario Day is something I wasn't expecting to hear today, but I'm very glad I did.
:D
Technically you pay for Super Mario Bros. again everytime you renew your NSO subscription!
Subscription services are great! I love paying for the same thing over and over!
phenomenal end card text
glad to have provided footage of the Famicom Mini and a photo of the FDS release of Super Mario Bros.
can't wait for you to talk about the Super Famicom Box in a future video
Interesting question and very fun video to look through different versions of SMB!
The ending arrangement is great too!
Props to AK for having that much copies of SMB yet still being on a teeny tiny apartment. Love it.
Oh my goodness, the outro music is "Make It A Mario Day"! I love it!
i've never seen those super famicom box carts, those are awesome! i had no idea they were so huge haha.
thanks for the boxboy OST by the way ;D
Technically the Wii VC version of SMB does have savestates? When you exit out of the game and open it again it’ll start where you left off when you open it again
You gotta do a full video about the Super Famicom Box, I'm super interested in it 👀
This is the first time I've heard of the Super Famicom Box and I'm hoping someday that the BIOS for it gets dumped so the original sprites featured can be perserved.
The BIOS has already been dumped! It just takes extra effort to emulate it lol
The FDS SMB1+SMB2J disk is interesting. From what I recall, in the original SMB2J you needed to flip to side B around World 4 or 5. I'm guessing in later prints they managed to fit the whole thing on one side of the disk? Either way pretty cool!
You never needed to flip the disk in SMB2J! Everything is on one disk side and the game simply needs to load additional data when you enter World 4.
@@AkfamilyhomeOhh that makes a lot more sense, thanks!
Nintendo: buy smb again
Us: *evil music cue in*
00:46 you put my hack's title screen!!!
I sometimes ask myself that with both Sonic 1 and 2
That's too many purchases. You understand how that's too many, right?
Omg please do a video about that super famicom box! That's actually super cool that you were able to find one!
2:57 putting 175 hong kong dollars through an inflation calculator and then a hong kong dollar to usd calculator gives me about $70 USD if it was sold in the late 80s
I would love a video on the Super Famicom Box, such a cool piece of tech!
12:07 Dragon Tales!?
3:19 wait what about the combo pack with Mario Bros, Duck Hunt, and World Class Track Meet?
That’s a lot of Super Mario Bros.!
I definitely wanna see that hotel Super Famicom

You gotta compare that super famicom box cartridge to a neo geo cartridge, cause that looks massive
It actually started with Donkey Kong, the original Mario platformer!
i think the implication for the end of super luigi bros is that mario got kidnapped too
i actually have two versions you didn't mention😊
1.Mario Bros 1 + tetris + that weird football game (NES, Pal/Europe)
2.Mario Bros 1 (GBA,NES-Edition)
"convenient torture"
_has every title screen star_
Nah, ain't no way, bro is giving SMB1 the Gawk-Gawk 1985 with all these re-purchases. 💀💀
Now I want a video on how many different versions of smb1 exist in the world
PatMac did this a while ago.
another note. super Mario bros is in Animal Crossing for GameCube, you can't technically play it without cheats (though someone has made an e-reader dotcode for it, so you can play it on an unmodified GameCube without action replay.), but it's still there.

You should do a video on the SFC Box and mention the original FC Box
SMB is the "but can it run DOOM" of Nintendo - you could play it on a calculator at this point.
That's more times one has paid for SMB1 than I have paid for...
imagine paying for a game 202 thousand times instead of just playing the game on the thing you bought it for
Thats how i feel about all these remakes lol ill just play the original i already have lol
I've only payed (officially) for this game 3 times, the Wii 25th anniversary disc, the 3ds virtual console and the Game & Watch

Goes to show how big this game is

Getting Super Mario Bros. for a Nintendo console is like buying a lightning charger for an IPhone
The short answer is "Every time." 😏
EDIT: Oh damn, nice get on the Super Famicom Box. 🤩👌
You've paid as many times for Super Mario Bros as an average Fifa fan has paid for their games
Wouldn't it be more than 22 times since NSO is an annual subscription, rather than a one-time payment?
gotta love the Simbi count...I added an I.
3:33 Missed opportunity to use the SMW coin sound

I was expecting SMBDX on GB Online today but maybe for the 40th Anniversary they’ll let us suffer once more.

2:28 made me laugh so hard
wouldn’t piracy ONLY be ‘party’? otherwise it’s just personal archival
It’s a reference to a Mario Party DS ARG.
Ive never paid for the og mario game and ive got several copies of it 😎they were all ones my parents got me or were gifts
Isn't this game also a unlockable in the gamecube animal crossing?
But just remember, downloading the ROM is evil and bad and you should submit to daddy Nintendo!
will you ever make a second video on those mario flash games?
11:36 What's larger? This or a Neo-Geo cartridge.
I think Ive bought it like four times
I have
Wii VC
Wii U VC
Nintendo Switch Online (NES & All-stars, plus 35 when it was around)
35th anniversary Game & Watch
Also what about Super Mario Maker? Theoretically every level could be remade in both games if not already being ported into them, right?
I own sonic 1 at least 24 times so I get this video
I’ve never paid for SMB1
Okay you've listed every legal copy of the game you've played
Now list every illegal copy you've played
why do super famicon cartridges look more modern than the super nes ones.
So we are counting NSO mario 1 and all stars as Individual purchases?
might as well count up every month you paid the subscription fee
Though you can’t play it without all the bs behind it, if you own Animal Crossing for GameCube you have paid for SMB1 there too.
love to have it on switch so can pay again 💀
i thought it was just gonna be like 5 times and you would spend over 4 minutes explaining the differences for each of them lol
