It also makes me wonder if emulators have been able to emulate this by doing side-by-side 3D and sending it to a modern 3D TV and using those active shutter glasses

Cool bit of early 3D-tech for sure! Noticed I can get it for a not too bloody price as well in case I decide I want to add it to my collection. A bit limited funds wise so I'll have to tthink about it since I want games for so many systems and also have other hobbies :D

I don't understand why the new four-count is followed by the old, barely audible bass notes, rather than it replacing the 'ᵇᵐ ᵇᵐ ᵇᵐ ᵇᵐᵐᵐ ᵇᵐ ᵇᵐᵐᵐ', or the two elements playing at the same time. I just want to hear the count-in precede the actual song part of the song...
