    Oh my god I love Final Fantasy 5 so much. You have no idea how thrilled I am to see it getting some attention. Especially because I feel like it's the most under-appreciated entry in the series.

    • @darkzeno13
      @darkzeno13 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      SgtChilly I think FF9 is the most underappreciated but maybe that's more like "Underappreciated by Square Enix". Still it's nice FFV was the game of choice here as it is not as famous as FFIV or FFVI.

    • @Shadefyre343
      @Shadefyre343 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      SgtChilly Isn't it under-appreciated because it wasn't officially released in English until a couple years ago? Or was that III?

      ***** That was probably 3. The fifth one first came out on the PS1 with FFVI as Final Fantasy Anthology. They have yet to port FFIX to anything yet, and they probably never will.

    The reason behind the 750 in Team 750: Team 750 includes all the classes that can 'break' rods (using them as items destroys them, but causes them to cast a big beefy spell at all enemies) - the first and most useful breakable rods you can find are buyable in Karnak for 750g each.
    Also, two Berserkers ain't that bad! They're a little annoying at times, but once you get used to making the most out of them, they're an asset. Berserkers are honestly criminally underrated as a class. Now, if you had *three*..

    The Job system is one of the most extremely fun mechanics the franchise has come up with, and im sad how it only applied to two of the mainline games.
    Some of them let you choose a job but you have to stick with it forever

    I've always wanted to do this, but I don't stream at all so I never thought there was much of a point. But FFV is my favorite 2D Final Fantasy game, so it'll be nice seeing a semi-blind run of it.
    Also, the nice thing about FFV is that there's no real required class, unlike FF3. You can have super broken character combinations, or you can just use whatever class you like and make it through pretty much everything just fine, with maybe Omega being the exception.
    Oh, Berserker isn't so ba- oh you got two. Good luck with that.

      FefnirMasamune The RNG nature though seems to be a recipe for disaster if your team gets no way to heal. Being denied a healer in an old school RPG ruins the day when a particularly tough boss shows up. Luckily that takes a while in FFV, for me anyways.

    I watched the first 3 episodes before watching this, but now I have a better understanding of the video's I've just watched. Might even try this game out, never played it before - although my brother's have played it a lot.

    but what if i want a different ability? say it's the first wind crystal and you get a plain white mage, can i train a warrior for two handed and then switch to the mage for the campaign? or does it have to be plain leveled white mage strictly?

    • @jonathantifone8001
      @jonathantifone8001 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope. The job you get is the only one you can assign. In my run I got Knight and was like ok, I can do this, then zerker, fuuuuuh, then bard, I was like oh no, turns out it's really legit, and samurai, so ianuki spam, sadly no mages. Not doing omniscient, don't care. Yes there's a super slow strat.

    This may be the first thing I've ever watched from start to finish on your channel, slowbeef. And I can guarantee that I'm gonna enjoy this 'cause I _did not care_ for _Final Fantasy V_ the one and only time I played it through! It's a good game, it really is, but for whatever reason... I just couldn't get into it. So maybe watching you play it through will get me in the mindset of giving it a second (well, _third_) chance!
    Best of luck!

    One berserker: meh. It's an attacking class. Nothing special.
    Two berserkers: Wow. This is actually kind of useful if the other party members can act to support them (spells, items).
    Three berserkers: I mean, same as above, but it's basically mandatory that the fourth guy is a support if the party wants any chance at survival.
    Four berserkers: I need a gun and it needs to go in my mouth now.

    This #donation / organization system sounds needlessly complex, but hey, #ff5 #FinalFantasy 5 is a great game and #childsplay is a good cause. It's been a good 6 years since I've played the game, but I watched most of an LP of it 3 years ago, so I don't think I'll be playing myself.

    Slowbeef, this is my second favorite final fantasy, and being locked down to jobs chosen by the RNG sounds godawful. please tell me you intend to play the game normally on your own time and just enjoy the beauty of the job system as it was meant to be done?
    Also, I can think of a part or two where having berserkers is going to cause you a lot of trouble, although when you first get them they're pretty keen because there's a really good axe you can get in the crescent island random encounters from drops by these guys named Harvesters.

    • @TurboNemesis
      @TurboNemesis 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      As far as I'm concerned this is the only way to play! Too much choice tends to get me locked into making boring decisions. But being handed 4 jobs and being told "make it work" was too much fun.

    • @esper4605
      @esper4605 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He's probably done this game tons of times before. However, here's a problem with the job system: some jobs are WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY (ry more powerful than others, to the point where FF5's FJF tip guide lists certain jobs (Blue Mage) as "You don't need help" before all other tips.
      I say that you should experiment for the first playthrough and then try to get faster and faster playing through the game, memorizing nuances that can be used to huge advantages and payoffs in later playthroughs. FJF can be really satisfying.

      @ 1m49s
      "I'm not super familiar with Final Fantasy 5? I only played a little of it previously"
      this let's play for the four job fiesta is his first time playing Final Fantasy 5 to the end. that is why I was concerned back then when he announced that he was going to partake in the four job fiesta. yes, this is a fun and interesting twist on trying to play the game, but I feel lie playing the game and having an idea of the jobs and their synergies beforehand could help him better understand how much of a dick Gilgabot is by dishing out berserkers...
      Hell, Berserker usually gets some limelight during my casual playthroughs because I like doing dual wielded death scythes for that added lethality and bite to Ninjas while saving up for 2Sword. I was just... worried that maybe Slowbeef would think less of the game playing in this rather inconvenient and circuitous way for his first REAL time through the game, but... he ended up doing Four Job Fiesta for a second year in a row.
      I'm glad Slowbeef has mellowed out on this sort of thing through the years. one of my favorite Retsupurae videos is the one where he payed a KayinNasaki video of Super Metroid a visit where it was Kayin stumbling through Super Metroid Reverse Boss Order with a giant mouse cursor on the screen. Granted, much of Slowbeef's frustration on that video was that the Mastermind behind "I Wanna Be the Guy" clearly didn't bother to edit, or even look at the product he produced given the giant mouse cursor and the unedited cut of bomb jumping up shafts made for the space jump.
      At the same time though, I was worried we would get videos in this playthrough of Slowbeef just floundering around because he can't change jobs and can't figure out a way around a dungeon or situation from lack of access to the correct jobs for the correct situation.

    I think this style of gameplay would be great for those people who like challenges, but I personally am not a fan of relying on RNG to determine what classes I play for a game that is all about molding your party with various abilities. While it would turn a casual gamer like me off from doing this, I do want to look into the charity now to see what it is about. Hopefully you can just donate money and not worry about having to play FFV this way.

    • @CyberGhost42
      @CyberGhost42 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris Connell Players can make a donation to reroll/ pick a class and make it official in the charity. fourjobfiesta.com/jobfair.php

      CyberGhost42 I looked at the charity site and found out more about it. I also found a few other people who are doing it besides slowbeef and Diabetus who are doing the fiesta thing. I support them. I would just donate. I also need to go back and find out what the charity is for again so I can see about donating.

      Emoney Bromine Hey you can get a reproduction cart of FF 5 on Etsy.com I got mines there and it's in beautiful English, plays like a normal SNES cart. It's a dream come true playing Japan Exclusive games in the comfort of your home which have been translated to English. Next I plan on getting Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War as a reproduction English cartridge another game that Nintendo chooses not to localize.

    Hope to get blue mage, 1 shot every other boss with level 5 death because pro programming.
    I've played through FF5 a few times and might join in making an LP of it, but low on money so meh when it comes to donating...maybe I'll keep it in mind for next year and join in then.

    • @chaoskiller6084
      @chaoskiller6084 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pro programming? Nah, lv. 5 death ignores immunity to death, however it's the level that makes it hard to use in some situations. But you can kill LITERALLY ANYTHING by raising/lowering levels to a multiple of 5.

    • @papershadow
      @papershadow 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DarkSlimeGod That might be interesting, though Bravely Default's later content is very heavily designed with the idea of you cross classing, especially the bonus boss rush in the last act (you know the one). It'd probably work similarly, but I feel like a big part of your difficulty comes down to if you have certain classes broken on their own, like Spiritmaster or Time Mage
