My baby is now 16 and my other children are all adults but I was very alone in being a stay at home, homeschooling mom in the late 90’s early 2000’s. I loved it so much and wouldn’t trade it. I just wish I felt more confident in what I was doing back then like you are now. Now I look back knowing that all my work with my family was beautiful! I have to say, I cheered inside when you said you stepped out of your comfort zone in order to allow your daughter to plan and prepare this gathering. That’s one of the hardest things we do as parents, to let our kids learn to do things without us (hello, messes and mistakes! 😂), yet one of the most vital isn’t it? Thank you for the small sacrifices that you make 🙏🏼❤
My mother’s heritage was German, so she put onion in EVERYTHING - and so do I! One day last year I discovered I had accidentally run out of onions (the only time in 27 years of marriage) and it was such a shock. I felt like my kitchen had suddenly come to a screeching halt and I didn’t quite know what to do! 😆

Oh same I’m from Perth and I’m a teenager at the moment but when I’m older I want to buy a farm but none of my family have ever been farmers or owned farms so watching these videos is teaching me so much and this is truly the life I want in the future ❤

We can always have this lifestyle in our daily lives. Even on weekends, evenings, mornings or once in awhile. It's truely a blessing even in little bites at any age or time. Great job, mama. As a mother to seven boys myself and one girl, with another one due any day now, I can certainly admire and appreciate amount of work you put into taking care of your family. I also downsized my garden this year since I am having a baby. My 11 yr old dug up the last of the potatoes and now just waiting for all the tomatoes to turn green. I completely understand the sand pit idea. We have a generous neighbor with a large pond that allows our boys to go fishing at will. They spend so much time outside and I am thankful.

BTW, "Her 86m2" is pronounced "Her 86 square meters", and that's because when she started her channel, she and her family used to live in a 86 square meter apartment (that's about 925 square feet), and she wanted to show that you can have a lush balcony garden and produce food even if you live in a small space. They then moved to the German countryside and into that dream of a house, which is huge, with an even huger garden. Many blessings to you and your family!
your little sweetie there at the end was melting my heart. we're blessed to live in an apt right next to a wetland preservation area where they let the blackberries grow like mad. i like to take my kids to the area with some bags all throughout august and pick berries together. this year my youngest, who is now 1.5, is LIVING for it. more berries wind up in his mouth than in the bag lol. as a family we're not a huge fan of blackberries, but we like to take advantage of seasonal things while we can, and with such bounty and provision right in our backyard, how could we not? put them in pies or cobblers with other berries and it's perfect. put them in smoothies, freeze what we don't use and we have blackberries all year round.
This was so beautiful. I love the sheer rawness in these videos and the "thank you Mama" had me in tears thanks to my raging pregnancy hormones 💖 I'm also feeling really inspired to get our own ice cream maker because I can't stand seeing my kids eat the overly sugary store bought ice cream that is loaded with additives. Thank you for allowing to view this snippet into your wonderful world. 🤗

aaah your girls looked so cute in their gorgeous party dresses, hope they had a lovely day. loved all your purchases from Threadup, amazing value and you can probably use most of them after baby has come. I always find your videos so comforting and calming. I'm near retirement age now, but still working and my guys are grown up, but I was lucky enough to be able to be at home with them during their younger years. So some of what you do with your crew reminds me of that time, and though it might not be everyone's cup of tea I certainly don't regret the time or the sacrifices (materialistically) that some may see it as. Even a simple thing like sitting down together for family meals and catch up, so important. And your children will carry it through to their own adult lives. They look so happy.

It reminded me of when my boys were young playing in dirt and also my grandkids. I kept my oldest grandson while his Mama worked till he started school and he always loved playing in dirt. Hi Lisa - this Lisa agrees 😊- on how we are able to make adjustments in our lives for new things. What at first seems like a huge time constraint quickly magically finds a place in our lives. I recently experienced that when my husband and I decided to raise meat rabbits. I think we just have to figure out how to rearrange our time and once that is done the new task becomes habit and just blends in with our day. I love the onion braiding - so beautiful with your decor!

For the comments asking where your kids are, I mean, even if your kids are running around your yard, it seems like you have so much space and an area where it is safe to just run around without too much supervision anyway. Where I live, we have a lot of road traffic and it is dangerous, but where I grew up, there was a huge yard and a lot of space to just run around. It all depends on location really. You are doing great. I love meals with zucchini and squash.

We had a dirt pile and my two boys loved taking their match box cars and little soldiers and Dino’s out their all day. I hosed them off in the driveway. Those are very good memories. Homemade play dough outside at the picnic the picnic table was another activity. 😊
Hi Lisa! Thanks for sharing, could you talk about how you predator proof your farm? Letting kids play outside and how you protect your chickens/ livestock from bears, coyotes etc.
While there are bears in Missouri, there are not many and they are rarely if ever seen. Coyotes are here but they don't want to see people so they are not a worry. The chickens go in their coop and the cow in the barn...so they are safe and sound.
You might think about building a sandbox for them. I find a big fluffy brush helps to clean off the sand from my little one. We keep it right next to the sandbox and we brush him off right as he gets out and we leave his shoes in the mudroom. It helps keep the mess down. I got the idea from a indoor sandbox place that we like to go to.
Looks so nice.. I have an ice cream maker like that too I add a bunch of eggs too(my own fresh eggs).maybe you didn’t want people freaking out about the raw eggs. Ha. Your onions look great. I think we find time to do what we enjoy. Making drapes no, gardening yes.

Every time I see your stove, Lisa.❤ I had the same one growing up, in our super rustic off-grid cabin, and learned to cook on it. Every morning pretty much, as a teenager I'd start the percolator coffee on it for my dad. It had a missing dial or too but that thing kept cranking finely over the years.

I love you having all your children! When I was pregnant with my fourth child 20 years ago, people commented with unbelief. One could not imagine that we really wanted “so many kids” and that I wanted to stay home to take care of the household and the children. However, I loved it so much and have never regretted it for one second! My children tell me now how nice and relaxed their childhood was 🥰

Looks so nice.. I have an ice cream maker like that too I add a bunch of eggs too(my own fresh eggs).maybe you didn’t want people freaking out about the raw eggs. Ha. Your onions look great. I think we find time to do what we enjoy. Making drapes no, gardening yes.

Every time I see your stove, Lisa.❤ I had the same one growing up, in our super rustic off-grid cabin, and learned to cook on it. Every morning pretty much, as a teenager I'd start the percolator coffee on it for my dad. It had a missing dial or too but that thing kept cranking finely over the years.

Ok I made that icecream with my new Espresso machine! Sooo yummy! Tell your sweet daughter great job! Also a hint for using the zucchini: I often purée it in my Vitamix, sneak it into anything tomato sauce. 😊 I’ve been blessed by your videos, reminds me so much of my homeschool farming/homesteading days(I’m grammy now to 5❤) it’s a blessing to see your good example of hard work and love for your family. I love you having all your children! When I was pregnant with my fourth child 20 years ago, people commented with unbelief. One could not imagine that we really wanted “so many kids” and that I wanted to stay home to take care of the household and the children. However, I loved it so much and have never regretted it for one second! My children tell me now how nice and relaxed their childhood was 🥰
