    In this episode I walk to a mini island, I catch my own fish, forage some oysters and snails, I explore a miniature island on foot, finding a cave and freshwater puddle, a true land based island adventure 24 hour challenge. I can only access the island for 1/2 an hour each day which means I am stranded for 24 hours on the island. My cooking consists of a delicious seafood chowder and some Maggi sour and mildly spicy 2 minute noodles.

    I'm a real hammock fan .here in New Zealand we don't have any dangerous creatures or poisonous critters apart from 2 species of spiders but mozzies and sandflies are a nuisance.
    But what I love about the hammock is it doesn't matter what type of ground cover underneath I always stay dry and warm. Love my hammock 👍🏽

At that time, I had a very difficult time because there were many obstacles, such as the hot weather, the road was not good, the dancing was not even hungry, I tried to move forward to To reach the destination I want to go, I try to use the materials that are available and the materials that come from nature, then I did not have much food to put when he traveled my food, he had to find food Naturally, like I have to catch insects to cook and eat, I have to find snails in the water and small fish that I can catch them, I have a hard time, I have almost no food to eat. But luckily I came across a bird near my heart, I threw a stone at it, it died, and I cooked its meat to eat like this video, when I watched and I Remembering my memories of that time, it was very sad because I was alone, I had to go on an adventure on the island with great difficulty, not dependent on others and modern equipment, I thank you for this video that made me Miss the memories My old friends .....

    Funny but when I watch your jungle hike in and explore/fish I think yeah more or theses vids, then when I I watch your boat videos either sleeping on the boat or a beach/island I want more of those, now the walk to an island I’m like yep this is the go....... guess I just love Andy out exploring our great country. Maybe a video on using the lures you find to catch fish? I think you have done this before but I’ve watched so many of your videos that I can’t remember 🙄 anyway greetings from the far south coast of NSW.

    I'd rate your videos of visiting islands 60k offshore, motorised gliding, pig hunting and getting towed around by GT's in ur kayak as amongst your best. Visiting a rocky sandfly infested island whilst fascinating for some doesn't do it for me..sorry. Hopefully the weather will improve so you can get back to some of the more beautiful locations..however keep up the good work!!

    The snail at 22:05 looks like "Frasers forest snail" AKA "Frasers banded Snail" (Sphaerospira fraseri) Very common. They don't seem to harm garden plants and prefer decaying vegetation so I leave them alone in my garden. If you cook them long enough they are safe to eat but they pick up a lot of parasites by feeding on animal droppings. If you take an empty shell and poke a little hole in it near the opening it can be used as a makeshift grater for things like long yam that have to be grated and leeched before cooking. Has a long history of use with Indigenous peoples in QLD. Always good to see them around. A good animal to know if you're into survival/bushcraft stuff.

    • @Andysfishing
      @Andysfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve heard the parasite thing too. I won’t be eating them any time soon. I see them on my driveway often.
