if the scissor doors include part of the roof then it does make entry easier. A lot easier. Ask anyone with mobility problems. Scissor doors can be longer, which also makes getting in and out easier, while not needing as much space to open.

Tesla's surprise will be two products in one. They will have one production line that can produce a $25k car and robotaxi: one with and one without a steering wheel. You'll be able to order the $25k car with a steering wheel and later contribute it to the fleet with an easily removable steering wheel. They will utilize steer by wire. The easily removable steering wheel feature, coupled with the steer-by-wire technology, offers a seamless transition between a personal $25k car and use as a robotaxi.
If I remember correctly it’s not that there wouldn’t be multiple Robotaxis (I’ve always believed that) it’s wether they’re be multiple vehicles other than robotaxis
I think part of the modular concept means that they will have a form factor that will compete with Uber Eats. the square box in the back will be to pick up your order of food when it arrives to your residence. That car can do people and food or any delivery of material that will fit in the back of the car. Their will be some sort of door that you can unlock with a code that is assigned to you.

Elon mentioned a lounge. If there is no driver there is so much more space to relax and enjoy. Sleeping if you are tired, pull out desk/ workstation. I have been saying for years. If you are going to explore Mars at ground level you will need 2 types of animal robots. A mountain goat very light and nimble can climb anywhere and map the area, and a pack mule. To carry solar panels and supplies to build roads for cars. I am thinking we will see lots of robots maybe that will show everyone to their seat and open robotaxi doors. Tesla does need a roof and seat that is high enough for everyone to use. Children pregnant women and older people. A low roof is unpractical for many people.
The one thing that surprised in the last few weeks was Tesla saying the Semi would be legal in Europe and China. I think we tend to be NA focussed while Tesla is thinking about the world. Designing the Robot taxi to be applicable worldwide will be huge. Imaging replacing all the 2 cylinder Tuktuks around the world

I believe when Elon said some people may not think they look amazing is because of what the reaction has been for CyberTruck. Some love and some hate. Also let’s not forget after this comment the event was delayed because he decided to change the front end to make it look more amazing
My prediction: Auto 2-Cybercab will be similar to the vehicle teased in the Isaacson Biography, Auto 4-5-Model 3 & Y in FSD, Auto 10-van model 10 seater with wheelchair access.
Remember that Elon stated that the Roadster unveil would be one of the best ever. The Robocab will by necessity be somewhat understated and economical. There are already driverless cars cruising around today. He needs more splash to make this event more memorable. Another reason to think Roadster 2 will be unveiled 10-10.

Oh man, this event is so hyped up already, it can only result in disapointment, Eeverbody have its expectations, and if one or more is not included.. big disapointment. I do not have expectations, I will just watch the event online and enjoy the ride. All these speculations all nice and well, but in the end it is Tesla who has to deliver upon this hype. I hope they will, but I fear the worst. Stock will as always take a nose dive, happens after each event the past couple years, because Wall Street as usual doesn't get it. I was thinking the same thing but I'm starting to change my mind. Someone just bought $2.9 million in $470 Dec 2026 calls this week. Elon talking about this being "for the history books". I think expectations are quite high - while bearing in mind the share price is still lagging behind the run up to the 8/8 event - but I'm starting to think this event might surprise and still exceed even those sky high expectations.
Here's a thought: How amazing could it be if the robotaxi were to be "made to order" according to how many people are going to be in it? If you ask for a single, the passenger compartment put on top of the skateboard at the robotaxi "parking" is for one person, if you ask for a double, they put a 2-person compartment on it, and so on. This way, the energy used is the lowest possible amount needed for the jog...
So Roadster takes away from the point of the event, but Optimus won't? I agree with Cern, the Roadster has a good shot at being shown. Elon has already told us it will be shown end of the year.

I thought no Optimus too - but you can’t put out publicity with “We, Robot” emblazoned across it and show no humanoid robot. Optimus 3 has been kept very heavily under wraps. I think it may have been going so well that Tesla have decided to give it a much bigger role than originally intended in this event.

I think the passenger van/transport vehicle is going to use the unboxed method and allow you to be able to switch out different things for different tasks without changing the drivetrain or the suspension at all one day. It’s a Robo taxi with seating for 12 goes back same frame you can put a box truck on it for deliveries same frame you can put a multi passenger bus vehicle or camper vehicle on top so if it’s using unboxed method for construction why couldn’t it be multiple things on one vehicle platform.

The choreography of the event 10/10 could be contagious… let’s imagine 10 Optimus escorting Elon on stage, Elon will ask one of the Optimus to order a Robotaxi and a next gen car using the new ride hailing app. When both cars arrive on stage, Elon will then announce availability of FSD v13 and Grok integration. With that said, Elon hops onboard the Robotaxi with Optimus and a second Optimus gets in the second gen car alone. Elon, while conversing with Grok to play soft music, potentially swiveling the seats, asks FSD to drop them off at a spot with all kinds of pre planned edge cases happening along the way. Visuals and audio comments of them getting there would of course be put up on a BIG screen on stage. The RoboTaxi then automatically parks and shortly after is summoned to take them back to were he started. All the while the second gen car goes off to a second destination to pick up Franz and simultaneously appears on the BIG screen. Fireworks go off in the distance as Elon and Optimus return to starting point together with the second gen car with a second Optimus and Franz and they all get greeted by a crowd gone crazy 🤪⚡️💥 At this point Elon presents the Robotaxi with all its features and the next gen car. He will give the road map and business plan for Robotaxi, second gen car and the owner based cars that will be able to add their cars to the global fleet and will announce a partnership. The cherry on the cake would be Elon announces the availability of the mini Starlink as an accessory option. That is how I would plan the 10/10 launch 🚀I Dreaming doesn’t cost anything 😅

I don't see a Robotaxi without inductive charging. Plugging in happens too often for it not to be automated and what better way than inductive charging? I hope that means my Cybertruck when I get it has inductive charging from the factory.
Does the eye also sort of look like an analog clock as well and the wedge shaped light reflection highlights 1/8 of the face from the 0 second to the 7.5 seconds out of 60....????
Having 1, 10, 100 different robots. Having 1, 2, 5 different robotaxis fine! The important thing is are the robots useful and can the robotaxis drive unsupervised and when! If 10/10 addresses these questions and gives timelines that will be impressive! At least it should address the point about the robotaxis being unsupervised and when. They can have 100 models, however if unsupervised is 5 years out that may have an issue.
Would love to see the event open with Optimus being driven to the front of a stage, then getting out of the car, picking up a package from the back, taking the package up the stairs to the podium dropping off the package, and then leaving. This would be a great showcase for RobotTaxi and Optimus combined.
I don’t think there will be so many types of robotaxis. A 2-seater and a van. For everything else you can use an autonomous 3, Y, S, maybe X. I don’t think they will show the compact car. Maybe the Optimus, it will be autonomous day, not only robotaxi day
Remember that Elon made an X comment after a design review: ‘So many robots!’. So I think we’ll see multiple robot form factors as in the Star Wars universe.

With that said, Elon hops onboard the Robotaxi with Optimus and a second Optimus gets in the second gen car alone. Elon, while conversing with Grok to play soft music, potentially swiveling the seats, asks FSD to drop them off at a spot with all kinds of pre planned edge cases happening along the way. Visuals and audio comments of them getting there would of course be put up on a BIG screen on stage. The RoboTaxi then automatically parks and shortly after is summoned to take them back to were he started. All the while the second gen car goes off to a second destination to pick up Franz and simultaneously appears on the BIG screen. Fireworks go off in the distance as Elon and Optimus return to starting point together with the second gen car with a second Optimus and Franz and they all get greeted by a crowd gone crazy 🤪⚡️💥
At this point Elon presents the Robotaxi with all its features and the next gen car. He will give the road map and business plan for Robotaxi, second gen car and the owner based cars that will be able to add their cars to the global fleet and will announce a partnership.
The cherry on the cake would be Elon announces the availability of the mini Starlink as an accessory option.
That is how I would plan the 10/10 launch 🚀I

I don't see a Robotaxi without inductive charging. Plugging in happens too often for it not to be automated and what better way than inductive charging? I hope that means my Cybertruck when I get it has inductive charging from the factory.

I think ‘We’ refers more to the human - robot connection. Not multiple form factors.
Having 1, 10, 100 different robots. Having 1, 2, 5 different robotaxis fine! The important thing is are the robots useful and can the robotaxis drive unsupervised and when! If 10/10 addresses these questions and gives timelines that will be impressive! At least it should address the point about the robotaxis being unsupervised and when. They can have 100 models, however if unsupervised is 5 years out that may have an issue.
Would love to see the event open with Optimus being driven to the front of a stage, then getting out of the car, picking up a package from the back, taking the package up the stairs to the podium dropping off the package, and then leaving.
This would be a great showcase for RobotTaxi and Optimus combined.
I don’t think there will be so many types of robotaxis. A 2-seater and a van. For everything else you can use an autonomous 3, Y, S, maybe X. I don’t think they will show the compact car. Maybe the Optimus, it will be autonomous day, not only robotaxi day
Remember that Elon made an X comment after a design review: ‘So many robots!’. So I think we’ll see multiple robot form factors as in the Star Wars universe.

Emphasis is FSD. So Elon should have one of every FSD capable vehicle preferably with their owner getting in their cars and driving around the Warner Bros. lot. Robotaxi featured on the tail end with an Optimus robot delivering a pizza.
