I assume the parts where he interacts with the girl (barging into his place, making TNT, etc) are fantasies (like in Brazil). Those bits all had a kind of action/fantasy element that was totally out of sync with his OCD 'normal' surroundings. He's a nerdy Mama's boy who dreams of being the hero, but in reality, is quite content to sit back and watch a crappy reality show (which was also done well). Kudos!

I really enjoyed the ankle bracelet being cuffed on and attached to the helicopter's cable as a way to transport the captured rebels to base. As I have never said, if you are going to have a fascist government, do it with style!
Wasn't that something you could do in one of the Metal Gear Solid games? I know it was done in some video game, I just can't recall which, but I found the concept absolutely hysterical.
May not be a fascist government, may be a legitimate group of crazy entitled communists. You can appreciate them for their ideals, but having family that grew up on the other side of the Iron Curtain I can assure you, barely anybody came out ahead in that and those that did come out ahead, they were upper middle class, at best in American terms. The middle class there lived in dignified poverty, and the lower class lived in squalor.
There are almost certainly better systems than this, but consider the danger of giving more power to a government that lied you into a war in Iraq. Find that weapons of mass destruction yet? You WILL get more government services, but they're the ones doling it out, and they steal about 90% of the tax payer money before they give out 10% for "government services". The type of people that created the Flint Michigan disaster will be determining where you live, what job you do, what education you have access to, and what kind of medical care you will have.
I'm just saying.
Socialism works, however, only when the population has a high degree of suspicion of the government AND a good deal of control over it. If you disarm the government and arm the population, it might work very well.

This is a whole story instead of a snippet like so many short films are. You get a sense of the characters and their world. Good quality upload and acting. Well done.

I would think the opposite, this exposes only a small part of the story, simplifying a complex problem to a simple question of 'yes/no and by the way, you'd opt for...'
No one really cares about what can lead to such a horrible dilemma? Her emotions are not struggling enough to raise more questions than these 5 minutes?

yep.. you have identified a problem with a good minority of dust sci fi...… they are not stories, have confusing story lines, and instead of making you think at the end they wind up making you "think what the fuck?". this one does not fit that category

I like the concept of dragging the folks away one leg at a time in a helicopter. The execution first, trial later was pretty cool too.
I didn't expect that ending.

LOL! Good grief! That was so Walter Mitty! And the clues were so subtle. Brilliant work! For me, these videos are a cross between the Twilight Zone and solving a Murder Mystery, real puzzlers. Kudos!
The scene is set up really well. There’s a huge contrast visually.
This film was a lot of fun to watch! Takes a lot more skill to mix in the comedy while maintaining the tension. Well done!
Seems a lot of people are missing the film as a fantasist loners imagination and taking it literally. Nice coherent story, well shot and scripted with reasonable effects that were not overbearing.

It doesn't show the 30 - 50,000 Guillotines that HS purchased, so pure fantasy.
Initially that's what I thought was going on, but if its his fantasy, why did he make himself so pathetic?
There are multiple themes on multiple levels to be enjoyed however one chooses to see it. The is no single right answer. That being said, I was yelling at the *loser* to see reality and toss her out. After all, helping the resistance was not going to get him laid.
Needed wine to compliment the cheese-factor of this short film. 10/10

This and "I'm you Dickhead" are by far the best of these short films I have seen so far
Flawless in every way! I thank you for making this unique comedy.
I don't take this as a fantasy. He got sucked in by the girl and thought he could be her hero, but in the end, without her to play to, he was just a smuck who is perfectly content, even fanatically happy, to do nothing. If it was a fantasy... his fantasy would mean he'd blow up the bad guys, and then go home happy. People don't fantasize about being a failure at playing a hero.
Oh, that's a sad one. I usually don't like these movies that go nowhere, but this one was very well made. Good fun.

The film's point was rather clear, and yet all the top comments totally miss the main point of this short film.
I'm wondering if that many people are really that stupid & clueless, or what is going on here.
The whole point of this short film/story, is to demonstrate how most people, because of fear, or shallow pettiness, or self-centered materialism... won't do anything to stop the atrocities and evil going on in the world all around them.
They choose instead to turn a blind eye to it (being callous to the point they have lost their humanity) and choose to focus instead on mindless distractions (like TV), instead of facing the reality they live in, and being willing to fight to make the world a better place.
It doesn't take much courage to face reality and fight the good fight, but it seems most these day simply choose to ignore reality, and simply focus on their own meaningless existence.
So keeping your head down, not making waves, and not helping your fellow man in need, makes you just like him..... a sad little man trapped in a pathetic existence. A life of no significance.

I have binge watched these 'shorts ' for a couple weeks. I like most of them but this one was like a goofy commercial. I wouldnt have been surprised if she told him, " If you really love me then you'll wash my bloody shirt with Tide Stain Remover".

This short was well done. I guess I took it as a literal adventure but maybe not. Either way the guess is a want to be ! He has a crush on a girl who is focused but he cannot carry the mission through for her, even if it was a fantasy. Wow ! but I liked it anyway.
