North Miami Beach Florida on 163rd Street I'd sit in my car and wait for that light to turn on for fresh hot glazed donuts. Now I live in a town it's never heard of Krispy Kreme thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me this recipe I can make them whenever I want now. 🤟❤️
I actually made this recipe and I filled mine with custard, dipped some in Thin vanilla and chocolate icing. Today I came back to follow the recipe again for Glazed and jelly filled donuts. Thanks you helped me become famous with the husbands job.
Here's a little TIP from my kitchen-to-yours: When working with flipping Doughnuts...try using a wooden or heat-resistant CHOPSTICK! Simply insert in the DONUT HOLE and the Donut will gravitate to it, THEN FLIP it over (this will save you from having to use TWO utensils to get the job done! ;-D It's also easy to take them out of the hot oil when utilizing the CHOPSTICK. Additionally, if you have a clean coffee mug holder...it's great for hanging your donuts on, this helps prevent the oil from making them too "heavy & greasy"...and since the coffee cup/mug rack is VERTICLE it doesn't take up a lot of precious space when you're making a lot of Donuts! We tend to use GRAPESEED OIL due to the way it cooks yeast-risen dough, but, Vegetable is also great, along with canola oil. Usually, we prefer to use the GRAPESEED OIL when deep frying pastries such as CROINUTS (Croissant-Doughnut hybrid)! lol You can also place the Doughnuts back onto the coffee cup/mug rack after dipping them in the glaze. It helps to "evenly" coat them (on both sides at ONE TIME! *JUST BE SURE TO PLACE A PIECE OF PARCHMENT or WAX PAPER underneath to catch any access icing or delicate sanding sugar & Cinnamon, Vanilla Powder (sugar), etc. Chef, If you are getting that PALE yellowish-white RING around your doughnuts...then you have MASTERED doughnut making! That is what we LOOK for in a properly fried Doughnut.😀 Thank you so much for sharing your recipe... and REMINDING the viewers about the IMPORTANCE of letting that yeast bloom! EXCELLENT TIP, CHEF!!!

Back in 2004 I hired on to a welding shop. When I went to my first shop safety meeting I commented on the lack of donuts. Safety director asked what the H does a donut have to do with safety. I replied, with the wages this place pays, it's pretty hard to concentrate on safety when all you can think about is where your next donut is coming from. Next meeting we all had Krispy Kreme donuts.
3:09, I noticed that sometimes the dough hook takes a little bit longer to gather all the dry ingredients with the wet ones plus the dough hook doesn’t get the dry ingredients that climbs to the sides of the bowl, (it happens to me a lot) I like to start with the flat beater to mix them together and then, I switch over to the dough hook. Just a tip to help the mixer get the job done.
@@SmokinandGrillinwithAB damn got me looking at your channels food when i should be asleep😂. Say boss is there anyway you have or would like to make a video on making oven roasted or oven baked chick with crazy. That would be amazing and much appreciation for your channel and tips.
Hey, AB! If you want to get a cleaner cut for your donuts, flour your cutter like with biscuits. Just make a little pile of flour on your cutting board and put the cutter into the flour before you cut out your donuts. Thank you so much for sharing sharing your donut recipe. They look so good.
I make these as well. I like to add about a teaspoon or two of freshly grated nutmeg to the flour. If you're going for a cinnamon and sugar coating instead of the glaze then adding a nice teaspoon of both nutmeg and cinnamon to the flour gives them a really nice extra taste :-)
I always add a bit of vanilla extract to my glaze. I’m definitely going to try these! Thanks for sharing your recipe. And I like milk with my donuts, too.😁🥰

@@armadillotoe. For some people, it’s got to be Krispy Kreme. It’s kind of like colas for people- they have a strong preference for Pepsi or Coca-Cola. I can’t tell the difference. I think I must be missing taste buds! 😊
I used my friend's mixer/shaker metal top to make my doughnuts. It was perfect for both the doughnut and doughnut hole! These doughnuts turned out great and was super easy to make. I ended up making a lemon vanilla icing (lemon zest, vanilla extract) , a chocolate icing (using about a tablespoon of cocoa powder) and I made a raspberry filling but used it as a dip since I don't own piping bags/tips. They were a hit with my roommates! Gone in about 10 minutes!
A tip for icing/piping from a broke ass would-be home baker: if you have any ziplock/freezer bags you can shove your mixture into one of the bottom corners off the bag (just turn the bag diagonally), then cut the tip off.
When it comes to water for your yeast...you don't need a thermometer. Play with the faucet til you've got the temp of a nice, warm bath for a baby. Learned this working at a bakery and its never failed in the 20 years since

Hi AB I've been watching your videos for years. The way you describe and give details is so interesting and keeps me coming back for more recipes. The food always looks delicious. Thank you. Stay Blessed.
Thank you for this video. I knew it was a hit when I touch it! It was so soft and fluffy! I use this recipe to make into a bread loaf. I love sweet bread. I am a fan! Thank you!.
Brought back memories of my childhood back in the fifties. Mom was always making home made bread. Sometimes she'd make extra dough. Back then mom had a biscuit cutter but it had a doughnut insert that twisted into the biscuit cutter. We'd cut the doughnuts out of the bread dough and fry them. Then while they were still hot we'd sprinkle sugar over them. I don't know if glazed doughnuts even existed back then but I'd never seen one. These were one of my favorite treats.
I've been watching you for years. You remind me if sitting up in the kitchen late night watching my daddy cook. He would come home all pulled up.. many nights of 2am chicken... and donuts ... and everything his mind could come up with! Lol

@@kelseyrodgers394 sure! It’s on my channel. First video I ever posted! There’s also another video on my channel called “Better than chick fil a cookies.” It’s the same recipe but 2 things: 1, it’s a quicker video because my kids aren’t “helping” me in it. And 2, I realized that they are not as good as chick fil a cookies. They’re BETTER! Hope you enjoy!
Hey great lesson. They look really, really delicious! I would use less glaze for health reasons , maybe thinner and drizzle or just dip tops. Maybe also add a little bit of orange or lemon juice into the glaze mix too.
Sometimes, when you first dump out the dough ball after that first rise, you'll have an easier time rolling the dough out if you let it rest for a few minutes. It won't give you so many issues trying to shrink back. I bake a lot of bread and always let my dough rest on the counter after dumping it out after the final proof before rolling it out for the bread pan. Love Krispy Kreme donuts, warm off the conveyor! My kids used to love it when I would get them out of bed and take them to our local Krispy Kreme for the 11:00 pm run! I took them in their pj's! Yum! I love a good copycat recipe! I recently perfected the Chick-Fil-A cookie recipe and my life has never been the same! 🤣🤣
Wait your own recipe?? I want it
@@kelseyrodgers394 sure!
Love the advice for a family event. I fondly remember my Dad making donuts and all of us gathered around. ❤
Mmm yum. Gonna watch with my mom later. We love Krispy Kreme! Thanks AB!
Both of you enjoy. Great joint cook and I'm sure she'll love you and her making these :)
Hey great lesson. They look really, really delicious! I would use less glaze for health reasons , maybe thinner and drizzle or just dip tops. Maybe also add a little bit of orange or lemon juice into the glaze mix too.
Thank you AB, for doing this video.
I love your program and think you’re so suited for it. Thanks for all your hard work!
All donut dough needs a pinch of nutmeg. 🥰
And some vanilla in the glaze
YES!!! Thank you!! That's what is missing from every copycat recipe I've found. And it's key to tasting as close to a KK as possible
So nutmeg in dough and vanilla in icing?
@@scoobysid04 yes. It will make all the difference
@@conniep8616 ok thank you ☺️ ❤️
I haven't grown up around black folk, but watching and hear you Sir, makes me feel at home. Thank you so much.
Great video! The only thing I would've done differently is add a little vanilla flavor to my glaze. Overall, great video!
(Of course, this was only when there was no school the next day.) Thanks for sharing!!
This sounds really good. The only thing is Krispy Kreme donuts have always tasted like an air filled sugar shell to me. These look like real donuts, and I can't wait to try them.
Enjoy! :)
I hate Krispy Kreme donuts because they're way too damn sweet. It's disgusting.
I tried the recipe today. It came out perfect. The dough came out soft and moist. It’s super easy too.
Glad you liked it!!
I can't wait to try and make these
I like your video bro. I'm a 1st. Time viewer and I honestly have to say thank you for your video 🙏 those glazed doughnuts you did the first time was the bomb 💣
Great recipe as usual, my man. Your sausage cornbread recipe is a big hit in our house during Thanksgiving. If I don't make it, there's gonna be war...
I can't wait to make these.. I can't believe how simple it seems.. The kids are gonna love making these with their Uncle Mark
This is great ❤️🔥❤️🔥 and I got all the ingredients in my cabinet right now !! + you can let the kids go crazy with the sprinkles lol 🎉
“You can see how it is”, I love it. So glad I found ur channel. Feel at home here
I LOVE Krispy Kreme donuts - thank you!! Just a quick note: my KitchenAid mixer like yours said to keep the speed setting no higher than #2 when using the dough hook. I LOVE you recipes and have made several of them since I found you a couple of months ago.
I have to comment,,, this is a masterclass in donut making and we have just eaten around 20
10 glazed, 10 rolled in sugar
👌🏻💪🏻
Thank you for this vid,, Excellent and delicious
I love trying copy cat recipes and making restaurant stuff at home. My family’s diet needs can be pretty strict, so these make me and family’s day! Side note, Krispy Kreme was my grandfather’s favorite! I remember him taking me to the store as a kid!
Thanks for all of your effort!
Great energy OG !! I appreciate the positive influence the world need more AB
Sweet Yummy Jesus!!! I always wanted to make doughnuts. These are certianly the ones I want to make!! They look so damn good!!!

Looks so good. I can't wait to make some.
Oh my, how times have changed. I just purchased the doughnut cutter and the price went to $12.00... I love what you do, friend.
Got one at the thrift store for $2. Grabbed it real quick
@@swannoir7949 Awesome.
Can you make them not as sweet as theirs? I could feel cavities forming the last time I ate one!
Lmbo! You can control it on your end. It's the glaze that makes them sweet.
We only have 1 Kristy Kreme outlet in whole of Ireland! 100 miles away for me…love this recipe. Love you❤
Dear person reading this we are a team!😀
