Becky, thank you for reminding me of this delightful recipe. My mom used to do this one when I was young. I think it's a wonderful idea to share money saving ideas too. Those who never strayed from their upbringing in hard times will survive again. Staying close to the Lord in prayer and the Bible will see us joyful when the rest of the world is wailing. God bless you, sweet gal.
We used to make these when I was a kid, however we used the biscuit cutter which had an extra, small cutter in the middle. We used crisco to fry them in. I think we just used regular sugar on them.
aha, my mom made these for us, and she pinched the donut hole through with her thumb and finger. These are truly the best! You can also cut the biscuit in quarters, making donut holes! Yes, you can fry other things in the oil, if you don't mind them tasting like donuts. :)
I re-use frying oil, separating sweet frying from salty frying ( apple fritter v. Fried Chicken). However, I HAVE used the sweet oil for chicken and was pleasantly surprised.
Speaking of children...one of the tabletop all-in-one hydro gardens makes a great gift for an elderly person who can no longer grow things outside or a child to get them interested in growing food and learning about the science of plant growth. It`s such an easy way to grow some salad greens, herbs, or even micro dwarf tomatoes and certain flowers regardless of time of year or location. You can even build your own simple ones from a coffee container or something much larger. I have my own watercress growing inside in a Folgers Instant container right now and it`s blooming and making more seeds. And I have a few collards and mustard in here too. With this bad freeze moving into Louisiana Monday and Tuesday it will be a challenge to save my outdoor mustard, turnips, and other vegetables. Seems to happen every year now.
Thank you Becky! You have inspired me to try to cook things that I have not been able to do before. Like Gravy. I made your biscuits and gravy & gumbo soup. They both came out good. You are such an inspiration. You are so sweet and kind. Thank you❤

Oh my gosh, I remember going to my aunts house and making these with my hillbilly cousins over 40 years ago! We didn’t cut out the donut holes though, we just poked our fingers in the middle and stretch them out a little bit! And we made our glaze in three different bowls with powdered sugar and water, and then we added flavor to each one, vanilla, lemon juice, and chocolate powder! This brings back memories :-)
I used to do this for my kids too! I would make regular and chocolate glazes and let them dip it in the glaze and then into sprinkles. My mom made these when we were little and our uncles convinced us kids that the donut holes were poisonous to kids but not to grown ups, so they got to eat them all! Thanks for bringing back some great memories, Becky! I hope you’re keeping warm and having a wonderful New Year!

Thank you for watching and sharing your memory with us 🙂 God bless you❤️
Becky, thank you for reminding me of this delightful recipe.
Thank you so much and sharing your memory with us 🙂God bless you ❤️
Thanks for sharing 😊❤ love the idea on how to save with this recipe. Stay safe
Thank you so much and God bless you ❤️
Hello from KY love you and your channel ❤️ Thank you Becky for all your videos.I love everything you make.I keep you in my prayers every night.❤❤
We used to make these when I was a kid, however we used the biscuit cutter which had an extra, small cutter in the middle. We used crisco to fry them in. I think we just used regular sugar on them.
I love hearing your Granny's recipes as well as your kids'. Your channel is a blessing.
aha, my mom made these for us, and she pinched the donut hole through with her thumb and finger. These are truly the best!
You can also cut the biscuit in quarters, making donut holes!
Yes, you can fry other things in the oil, if you don't mind them tasting like donuts. :)
Love that recipe!! Going to make with great niece and nephew. God bless you and community.
Thank you for watching🙂God bless you ❤️
Great idea Becky thank you for all you do 💚💛🙏Blessings
Hey Becky! I just made these this morning and followed your instructions. They were perfect and my husband loved them. Thank you! ❤
I re-use frying oil, separating sweet frying from salty frying ( apple fritter v. Fried Chicken). However, I HAVE used the sweet oil for chicken and was pleasantly surprised.
I use to do this for our boys when they were still at home. I sure miss those days. Thanks for the memories.
I used to use the deep fryer and the kids loved fritters too! They loved cinnamon sugar coating and the holes disappeared like magic.
They are also good with just a powdered sugar coatimg...no glaze..just powdered sugar.. my kids always loved them that way ❤️
What a clever idea! Can’t wait to try this recipe. Thank you.
Delicious 😋 my mom used to make these with chocolate icing. I love them with powdered sugar. God bless ❤
This is a great idea. They look delicious and so easy to do.
Thank you for watching 🙂God bless you ❤️
Speaking of children...one of the tabletop all-in-one hydro gardens makes a great gift for an elderly person who can no longer grow things outside or a child to get them interested in growing food and learning about the science of plant growth.
Thank you for watching and sharing with us 🙂God bless you ❤️
Thank you Becky! You have inspired me to try to cook things that I have not been able to do before. Like Gravy. I made your biscuits and gravy & gumbo soup. They both came out good. You are such an inspiration. You are so sweet and kind. Thank you❤

Thank you for this great receipe. 😊❤😊 Looks so yummy.😊
It's.going.to.yummy❤
Oh they are wonderful! Thank you for watching and God bless you!
Just made these, I need to adjust the temp a bit, slightly over done but still good. It is good that you can control the sugar.
Going to try it 😊
I hope you like them! Thank you for watching and God bless you ❤️
I used to do this for my kids too!
Looks delicious 😋
Just made these today and it is a school snow day. The grandkids love ‘em. Thank you, thank you for passing on this recipe. 😊
Deliciosas gracias por la receta ❤❤
I sure hope you like it. Thank you for watching and God bless you ❤️
I am 72 and have never eaten a homemade donut. My mom nor grandmothers ever cooked them so I haven’t either. Thanks so much for this recipe and all your others. Wish I had found your you tube sooner. God bless you and your family. ❤️ (This is my husband’s account. Didn’t realize I was using his 😂)
