@JaredOwen 11:45 You cannot put out oil fires with water. That will cause the oil level to rise and spill over, causing the rest of the kitchen to be on fire. Instead, they use a chemical foam that cuts off the oxygen supply to the fire, effectively smothering it. For oil fires, a Class K fire extinguisher (United States) or a Class F extinguisher (Europe) is designed specifically for cooking oils and fats. Another thing that they use is a fire blanket. A fire blanket works by smothering the fire, cutting off the oxygen supply that the fire needs to continue burning.

Krispy Kreme had originally opened a factory store in an adjacent town to me back in the early 2000’s that looked just like the animation in video. The store closed about five years later, and the building is now a Chic-Fil-a. There were no Krispy Kreme’s in my area for many years, but about four years ago, Krispy Kreme opened a new store in another location in same town. This particular store specializes in donuts and coffees, kind of like a Starbucks. I don’t know if they actually make the donuts at this location since there are no observation areas for customers, but the equipment may be hidden in the back of building. The one thing I noticed when they reopened at new location, the donuts were like twice the cost as they were during the days of the earlier location. I only went to the current location once since it opened four years ago.
I’m not sure why I find these videos so fascinating, since I’m not mechanically minded and never thought I was all that interested in how things work. But somehow the excellent animations and clear explanations keep me watching to the end, and I always learn something. I hope you do videos someday on electric fans, air conditioners, refrigerators… and many other topics!
Jared Fantastic video with the animation showing each step of the process !! I have 2 "factory" Krispy Kreme stores in my area and they are the best. It's always nice to drive by and see the HOT sign on which is time to load up on fresh hot donuts. Krispy Kreme donuts really are the best and the glazed melt in your mouth.
Homemade glaze is usually just milk, icing sugar and vanilla. There’s probably some variation in the KK version to make it set faster and maybe last longer, though.
This is fascinating channel!! Have you ever done a behind the scenes? That would be incredible to see an idea go from start, scrpiting, planning, creating the content, animating, and the thought process that goes into what POV is picked. If nothing else, it world be a great STEM piece to inspire others. I love this video. Thank you!!
The first donut machine illustrated is for Cake donuts and Cruellers. Neither require yeast or proofing and are dropped directly in the oil. (source: My family owned a Dunkin' Donuts for 10 years, and I was a baker during the summer break for many of those years) Bonus fact. The glaze for Dunkin Donuts is 50lbs 10X Sugar, 5 qts of Hot water, and a couple of cups of HF Corn Syrup (for the shine). Another fun fact is that 40 years ago, Dunkin' Donuts used to HAND CUT their cake donuts rather than use a machine; this created a much more symmetrical and nicer looking donut than you will see today with the machine dropped caked. Rolling and hand-cut a cake donut takes experience, a perfectly mixed dough, and proper use of flour. These days, speed and ease of use mean that they drop them out of a machine
I didn't have a Krispy creme in my town very long, but I loved to watch them get made as a kid, I'd always get them to take a donut off the line before it was glazed
I watched this video last week and I’ve been craving donuts ever since. Finally gave in and stopped in on my way to work. You definitely just helped Krispy Kreme sell some donuts 😅
My mom used to work at Krispry Kreme, she worked at one that made doughnuts and two that didn’t at the same time, and she would migrate between the three
The fact that all the doughnuts are pushed up by the wave from the next set of doughnuts landing in the pool is an attention to detail that I have never seen anywhere outside of real life itself. HOLY CANOLI
Seeing the conveyer belt when I was a kid, that was the best part of going to one of their stores. Seeing the whole process animated is awesome to see!
i can do all of this with a rolling pin, pastry cutter set, chiefs knife and a stainless steel bowl also a lot of wax paper. the only hard part of homemade donuts is proofing them so set the oven at the lowest temp then crack the door for about 10 minutes and check the wall temp and make sure its no higher then 105 deg then put a liter of boiling water in a bowl on the bottom rack of the oven. when you proof the donuts do it on individual squares of wax paper so they rise and you just throw the proofed donuts into the oil and immediately the extract the paper, it wont melt because the temp is 350-360 degrees. you dont need a machine but automation is a wonderful thing.
1:02 This is the exact floor plan and layout of the factory store in Daly City, California. If I'm there when the machine is in operation. I ask for a fresh donut before it gets glazed.
My wife -- a diabetic -- wishes she could buy an UNGLAZED DONUT from the nearby KK store, but the manager says "Sorry, but NO." So I have to CAREFULLY SCRAPE OFF the glaze, so I can give the "naked" KK donut to my 84-year-old wife. But she is a wonderful woman -- and worth all that extra hassle for my arthritic hands. Thanks for this great video!
3:07 “3,000 donuts an hour” now lemme multiply it to 24 to see how many donuts would be made in a day **casually goes to calculator app** 72,000 DONUTS A DAY!

Who saw the blender donut lol
You americans are so freaking lucky.
There is not much donut stores in my country (Brazil), and not a single Krispy Kreme store, i belive.
God damn the world can be unfair.
I believe back in February of this year (2 months ago) Krispy Kreme recently celebrated their expansion into Brazil... so just give it time and you can get some doughnuts too!
@@JaredOwen really? That would be awesome !

Yup!
In Indonesian, there are many words that are not clear when spoken, ( example 1:48 and 3:15 ) especially in the mention of numbers. If this sound is created using "AI ELEVENLABS". You should write the numbers, for example "nineteen thirty-seven", and if you want the speech to be clear, you should not exceed 500 per letter in generating the sound.
*But, if you want to work with me on sound issues, I'm here to help.

Considering it is a grease fire, I doubt they use water sprinklers. Sure, there are mist sprinkler that do a decent job of putting out small grease and oil fires from e.g. a spill,. but a tub of burning grease, not likely.

Sfs player? Dang

Literally eating Krispy Kreme doughnuts as I'm watching this right now
Like this comment if you are a police officer watching this video.
Reminds me of the show Doug
Maybe you should do Sofi or Allegiant Stadium. Both of them are incredibly advanced and I think would make a good video.
Thank you for the suggestion!
Homer Price knows all about how donut machines work.
Never thought Jared would be teaching us glazing
This is fascinating channel!! Have you ever done a behind the scenes? That would be incredible to see an idea go from start, scrpiting, planning, creating the content, animating, and the thought process that goes into what POV is picked.
If nothing else, it world be a great STEM piece to inspire others.
I love this video. Thank you!!
U are awesome u taught me how the space shuttle launch worked
Thank you for watching my videos!
Could you please make a video about the Boeing 747 ? It is my favourite plane.
I would love to see how a nuclear reactor works like the same thing at Chornobyl and how the disaster happened. Love Your Videos
I didn't have a Krispy creme in my town very long, but I loved to watch them get made as a kid, I'd always get them to take a donut off the line before it was glazed
i think we were having watering mouths while watching this
Cool!
You should do the Gateway Arch and how the elevators work in that!
bro you foreshadowed the gateway arch vid
I watched this video last week and I’ve been craving donuts ever since. Finally gave in and stopped in on my way to work. You definitely just helped Krispy Kreme sell some donuts 😅
I work in industrial automation. Ive never seen machine animation of this quality. This makes me want to step up my documentation game.
My mom used to work at Krispry Kreme, she worked at one that made doughnuts and two that didn’t at the same time, and she would migrate between the three
A KK donut right off the line is a sublime treat.
My favorite doughnuts will always be from KK. there's one only 3 blocks away from where I live and they are nonstop busy from open to close.
this man animated that many donut meanwhile me struggling that to animate one donut in blender 👏👏
We all start somewhere don't worry i've been doing this for years and this video also took quite a long time to make! keep working on your craft!
I've waited decades, in hopes of someone coming along to show me this video. And now, the day has finally arrived. Thank goodness for TH-cam.
100% Grade A work Jared! Congratulations.
Seeing the whole process animated is awesome to see!
you’re such a talented animator. i love watching your videos and learning how things work.
can you do something f1 related next?
also nice video 👍👍
I used to work in a place that made donuts like this on a much larger scale, and I must say this video is spot on, great job!
i can do all of this with a rolling pin, pastry cutter set, chiefs knife and a stainless steel bowl also a lot of wax paper. the only hard part of homemade donuts is proofing them so set the oven at the lowest temp then crack the door for about 10 minutes and check the wall temp and make sure its no higher then 105 deg then put a liter of boiling water in a bowl on the bottom rack of the oven. when you proof the donuts do it on individual squares of wax paper so they rise and you just throw the proofed donuts into the oil and immediately the extract the paper, it wont melt because the temp is 350-360 degrees. you dont need a machine but automation is a wonderful thing.
1:02 This is the exact floor plan and layout of the factory store in Daly City, California.
If I'm there when the machine is in operation. I ask for a fresh donut before it gets glazed.
Bitte ein neues Video in dem ein Tunnelbohrer erklärt/gezeigt wird 👍🏼🙏🏼
Boys: How donuts are made?

hey jared been watching your videos for awhile i love seeing how things work keep up the good work 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! I appreciate all the support
Jared Owen, could you check out the Queen Mary in Long Beach for us? Or can you examine the Topkapı Palace in Istanbul and make it into a video?
