I just lost my brother yesterday to covid.. this song to me represents his sad struggle all alone in that hospital but at the end his final release into heaven and being greeted by our mom.. I love you GORDO!!!
Hey man, I just lost my brother today to Covid. I feel exactly the same way about this song. Our cousin who is barely learning to play the guitar was playing this song for us today, it was beautiful. Crazy because my brother was gordo too! May God rest your brother’s soul. Condolences to you and your family.
Thank you for your kind words. I am sorry for your loss as well and my sincere condolences to you and your family. Stay safe out there!!! He is with the Angel's now and no longer suffering in this unforgiving world. ..

Deff one of my favourite tracks of all time. Makes it into my top ten of all time. Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand on end when I hear this. For me this is up there with Peter greens man of the world. Just pure magic.
Absouluty, definitely one of my favorites to play on the guitar. But I also love playing Europa,I love you much to much, and love is you.come to think of it? I just love playing his music in General
Yeah you said it, man. Also the person who said hair standing up on the back of your neck. If that doesn't happen to you when you hear this song, it's possible you don't have a soul, lol. This song would actually be worse if it had words. Sheer instrumental brilliance.
You painted a beautiful picture of how to listen to this song. Reminds me of my younger years, sitting on the beach with not a care in the world. Thank you. 😁❤💯
Shed a tear listening to this song. My dad loved Santana and said that this was one of the best melodies he had ever heard, he wanted me to learn it on guitar and now I will learn it in honor of him…miss him so much everyday 1969-2022 🕊
When radio stations will only play Evil Ways or Black Magic Woman and ignore this work of art is an injustice. Thank you Carlos, this song touches my soul 🙏
yes I've always question the same thing I spent hours on the phone with radio stations asked the DJ S to play this song and every once in awhile I could get one to play it not very often though I don't understand it One of the Best songs there are so many
I’m from South America, I was a kid around 9 yrs old , my dad would play this song every Sunday afternoon, I still enjoy today and always remember my dad ❤
This is the most optimistic song I can think of. Three "starts" that end up in despair, but the fourth one is a smashing success and full of life. And all of this - without a single word... Genius.
Soooo sorry to hear about your dad. RIP 💔Losing those we love is so hard. But as you gradually begin to see color again, you will begin to truly appreciate the gift of his great taste in music for you to remember him by. His memories will forever be brought back to life in an instant each time you hear a song you associate with him. May God bless all those he loved and who loved him with healing in their own space and time, and may you always treasure and honor his memory🙏
At my daughter's wedding, this was the father daughter dance song. My favorite Santana song. I teared up as I held her and asked. "Why did you choose this song?" she replied. " That's what we grew up with, Dad." I held her so proudly. Tears of love flowed onto my tuxedo.
Santana never thrived on speed or technique but guitar poetry .... he didn’t vomit scales and runs but made the guitar sing ... So fortunate to have seen him live in 1977 as a teenager. That memory will stay with me till my dying day ...
I'm 70 yrs old and I've seen Carlos Santana in person and this is my favorite song and it's the song I honestly wanna have played when they lay me down to RIP
I´m 77 years old and and not only does it feel just as deep as it felt back in the 70's but keeps on going deeper and deeper into my soul. Santana is a timeless wizard.
For my dad. 😭 he always said he wanted this song played at his funeral. I will forever remember him playing his bongo or dancing with me every time I hear this song.
Today this will be played at my uncels funeral as his request. He said if when he passes away to play thus song. Nothing but the best of Santana. Rest well Unc.

@@carlossantana3606 Hey, Carlos Santana! In the current issue of Back to Godhead magazine there is a nice article about Alice Coltrane and her Krishna Consciousness in the 70's. I love your music. Hare Krishna!
I have always adored this. I prayed my son would grow up and play like this someday. My boy is a talented guitar player and in in love with a beautiful Mexican/ American woman..I guess it spoke to his heart. Thank you, Carlos Santana...You blessed my home.
My Tio died recently , I don’t know how much he liked this song wasn’t sure , but I dedicate this to him, as I sit cry and feel the piece of my heart that is missing
Dad died a month and 12 days ago... Every day that passes I think of him. This song reminds me so much of him, when we went on those car trips, he played it on the stereo and said this was one of his favorite melodies. I was learning to play it for the time we were supposed to meet when I got home again....this won't be possible but this samba is pa ti, pa.
same happened to me, but a year ago. He bought me my first electric guitar with the deal that I would have learned to play this song. It was his favourite, he used to dance with my mum to this. Now I play it every time I need to feel close to him.
Lost my Pops years ago. And this song kills me cause. It reminds of him. He would be playing this song cruising. In his. Classic Corvette. Me and him going to the casino. Watching the eagles go by. With the the top off the Corvette. Glazing at the. Big beautiful sky never thought I would lose him so young n as he left. With cancer. He knew he had it. Fixed the heart but left the Cancer guess he didn't want to go through all the kemo therapy. May hebe with God Almighty. I pray this ever so much so much so I would give up my. Place so he can go. Amen. Amen.
I went to see Carlos, Ndugu Chancellor, Jose "Chepito" Areas, Tom Coster, Dave Brown and Leon Patillo in concert at Madison College in October of 1975 and I watched Carlos' fingers as he played this song. It was a pleasure to hear some of the musicians that he recorded the original version with. The stage was surrounded in flowers and orange , red and yellow light. My sister, brother and several cousins were there. That night sealed the deal. I had to play guitar forever.
Plenty of great guitarists that play as equally if not better.. but Carlos didn't just play his guitar he gave it a voice. He sang with his guitar. Absolutely unique and ways classy

¡ Inolvidable Carlos Santana ! ❤
This song has so much soul and passion without saying a single word. I can’t tell you how many times this track has taken me on a journey. It has to be one of the greatest pieces of music ever recorded.
Very well composed, brilliant guitar played, just got me through , I'm stunned by this, feels like the guitar is talking to you and try to tell you or remind you what happend in whole your life just in 4 minutes. Incredibly performed. Love it when I was young and love it now when I'm older. Thank you Carlos you did amazing work with this one, you have touched so many people by playing this. Thank you
As I scroll through these comments, all I see is how many dads loved Santana and have passed on. This year I lost my legendary dad. His love for music was unmatched and boy oh boy did he love Santana. I cant believe that last year I got to take my family to see Santana live in concert. My dad got to see his favorite artist from front row seats and it's a memory I'll never forget. What I wouldn't trade to hear my dad play these songs again on a guitar.
I have to say I happy for you that you have happy memories of your dad. I never have and never will. My dad is a bad man. I envy you that you had that. Never forget how special that is. I'm cool I have an awesome mom. Now I'm 61 so I'm fortunate to still have my mom and I'm grateful. But you are fortunate to have had an awesome dad.
I lost my daddy 10/10/16 he was 56yrs old. we grew up listing to music. I love music because of him from all sorts of genres. I can feel him in this, telling me his alright. R.I.P. Angel R. Castro of PHX Arizona. Forever in my heart. I love you Dad.
Nick Avila lost my dad 12 years ago and we played this at his funeral. Was one of his favorites. Still gets to me every time I hear it and tonight someone requested it it to be played by mariachis and it was amazing to hear it. Brought tears to my eyes. God bless. I know your dad is watching over you brother.
Nick Avila thats lovely x my kids lost their daddy young x keep coming back to this if it inspires you x has meaning for me and revisiting tonight even though been a few years...just needed some guidance x i know he isnt here anymore but this beautiful song came on the radio x a sign ☺

The GREATEST SONG EVER WRITTEN PLAYED BY ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS ON THIS EARTH!! ♥️♥️. I FELL MADLY IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE IN 1974 while Dancing to this song. We are no longer together, but I still think of that LOVE.
I was 4 when I first heard this song in the car. Now im 27 and I still get the same chills up my back thinking bout those family parties and all the good times you have as a kid listening to this type of beautiful music will forever be apart of me till 6 feet under
My dad just recently passed of cancer. To this beautifully haunting man who would play his electric guitar to Samba Pa Ti at full blast: although how annoyed I would get, how much I wish for you to play it one more time. How much I wish to sing with you; you’ve always wanted me to. To hug you again. To see your quirky smile, and say I love you one more time. Rest in peace, dad. Richard Raciti (1960 - 2018)
Does anyone else just feel how much fun Carlos is having with each little riff... I know he has bigger hits, but this has to be the go to feel or groove when I think of this man. I just love how he gets a little sloppier by The end, bit its so perfect at The same time... Gets me all The time. Thanks dad for sharing your music with me.
That is the most beautiful instrumental in the world and I love your blue letter j that is one of my colors everytime I hear that song I dance through the whole house with my dogs God bless you

His guitar playing is absolutely breathtaking you can feel it in the soul when it first came out when I was a young older teenager it was absolutely amazing Santana is amazing everything that he puts out and he still rocking it out. God Bless everybody, stay safe peace out👍😷☺❤💃🐾✌
Yes, my heart is broken. Now I am 65 years old. I remember when I just met my husband in 1972 when I was 16. This was our first song, we dance, listen Carlos Santana every night.l am divorce almost 20 years ago. We can't see each other. He is in Poland, l am here in USA. I am women, this picture is my friend and tablet is on his name. My name is Elzbieta (Elizabeth ).Crying every time I listen this song. Still love my ex husband.
Like a masterful bittersweet moment of an old man looking back at the trials and happiness of life and all of its twists and turns like a majestic eternal sunset
Born in 87, have yet to hear something as beautiful and meaningful as this. Through the test of time this will always represent my father for nothing will touch my soul the way my father hasand the way that this piece flows through me
when my mother passed in 2017 this was the song I chose for her, my family all picked songs. This was our song, during the evening dishes, or when we were home alone. She'd turn on the radio and later the computer and put this on. My mom never turned up the volume on songs, but if it was just us, she'd turn this way up and dance with me Today i'm 35 and still remember my mom by this song. Some folks at the service said this was the heaviest song (emotional) at the entire service. But to me, it was beautiful and pure joy. Thanks mom for taking care of me for over 25 years, i wasn't always the easiest. But you taught me how to care.. while becoming a man!
I love this song, it reminds me when I first went on my date with my ex-husband. oh lord he took me to the Arizona state Fair. THAT was the first time I ever heard it. I heard of Carlos Santana and some of his music but being a black young lady at the time and him being a Chicano. I didn't know anything about his culture and it was vise versa. Boy, oh boy we had good times and baby bad times. Those was the late 90s. I am so happy we had 2 beautiful black and Mexican native kids.... music musical great music brings any culture together once your soul feels it. I thank every musical musician just for music. people what makes the world go round. Now my son's listen to the great and only Carlos Santana

How beautiful! Just when I think Carlos has released something beyond the extraordinary! I suddenly hear this! And it sounds wondrous!
At my daughter's wedding, this was the father daughter dance song. My favorite Santana song. I teared up as I held her and asked. "Why did you choose this song?" she replied. " That's what we grew up with, Dad." I held her so proudly. Tears of love flowed onto my tuxedo.
Awesome
Oh how beautiful that must have been!
She coulda really fucked up the answer to that question… but she didn’t. Good fer ya, Daddy-O.

Thank you Jesus for your beautiful life
Santana never thrived on speed or technique but guitar poetry .... he didn’t vomit scales and runs but made the guitar sing ...
So fortunate to have seen him live in 1977 as a teenager. That memory will stay with me till my dying day ...
I'm 70 yrs old and I've seen Carlos Santana in person and this is my favorite song and it's the song I honestly wanna have played when they lay me down to RIP

His fingers and strings do all the singing.... That's what sets Carlos apart.

I had to play guitar forever.
agreed.

To see your quirky smile, and say I love you one more time.

when my mother passed in 2017 this was the song I chose for her, my family all picked songs.
This was our song, during the evening dishes, or when we were home alone.
She'd turn on the radio and later the computer and put this on.
My mom never turned up the volume on songs, but if it was just us, she'd turn this way up and dance with me
Today i'm 35 and still remember my mom by this song.
