- We attended Bulgarias largest festival, and it was single handedly one of the most cultural and authentic travel experiences we have ever had!
We highly recommend you traveling to Bulgaria, but ESPECIALLY during the Rozhen festival. Located in the Rhodope Mountains, there's traditional dancing, authentic cuisine, and a ton of exhibitions explaining their history.
We highly recommend you visit!

I have tears in my eyes! So so proud and happy to be bulgarian! Thank you people❤
Very happy you enjoyed the video ☺️
I was also at the festival not as a tourist but as a dancer (part of the festival). For my eight years in my "career" this is a very moment for me, and did you know that here was set a Guinness record here for the most kaba bagpipes. I am very happy that foreigners enjoy our music and culture!
That’s fascinating! We truly did enjoy it! It was a once in a lifetime experience for us
What a beautiful video and appreciating our culture. Thank you for seeing Bulgaria with your hearts. God bless you wherever your path takes you.
Thank you for the sweet message ❤️
I am bulgarian living in London, sadly couldn't make it to that festival and I'm quite jealous on you both guys. Enjoy your time there and hope you have great time in Bulgaria 😍🍀
Sorry to hear that!! Hopefully next year you will! ☺️
Thank you so much we are loving it so far 🥰
Bulgaria is a beautiful country with good food and beautiful countryside.
We agree
Hey, amazing video, you really went out of your way to see the real Bulgaria.
The father of my grandmother told her: "We are always living through hard times, because we managed to steal a peace of heaven and everyone want's to take it from us"(roughly translated)
Cheers to all my Balkan brothers and sisters.
Thank you! We loved our visit!
You guys are so nice and polite. Hopefully you had a good time in Bulgaria :)
Thanks so much! We had a really great visit!
As you said, the songs were indeed written during times of war. The bagpipes we listen to are the same ones making music that we as a nation went into battle to secure our freedom from the Ottomans. This music will forever stick with us and we cherish it because it reminds us of the struggle that we went through. Excellent video! The massive flag was a little bit controversial in our mainstream media because there were a few scumbag politicians and organisations that were saying it was unnecessary and a waste of money, but every Bulgarian disagrees with them and we are happy to have it.
It is currently the tallest flag in Europe!!!!!
🤍💚❤
Thank you for the nice words and we are glad you enjoyed the video ❤️ p.s. screw them we loved the flag 😂
You guys are legends! Come back around, you are very welcome!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Guys, what a cool episode that was!
You also saw one of the largest flag poles in Europe, the one in Rohzen.
Thank you! It was such a wonderful experience and we felt so lucky to have been able to visit 😍
You are absolutely adorable ❤ thank you for showing me my country from your point of view!
Thank you ❤️
Such a lovely video, wish I could go to the festival too but missed it this year!
Fire dancing is also called Nestinarstvo and the dancers are nestinari.
I hope you also manage to see some folklore dances too, some of the professional dancers dance so fast with their feet, it's a great sight!
P.S. Subscribed!
Thanks so much for the information! We spent so much time watching all of the dancing it was incredible. The whole festival was a blast ❤️ Glad you enjoyed 😊
2:58-2:59 the man that is ringing this bells is the president of Bulgaria and he is a mig-29 fulcrum pilot and a three star general
He did a whole speech while we were there!
Didn't even realise that was Rumen Radev. What a chad!!!! 🤍💚❤
Wow this was amazing to watch
Thank you so much ❤️☺️
Hi Ryss and Shaun, I must say, your videos have left me utterly amazed! By the way, I've just sent you an email. Cheers from Germany! Yordan
Thank you!!! We received it and love what you did!! ☺️
fun fact at 3:00 that's the president
Yes he gave a whole speech! ☺️
Welcome back again
Thank you!
Looks like a super fun and interesting festival to visit! Not sure I'd be brave enough to try the hot coals though 😆
P.S. Tristan says he hopes you didn't end up getting burnt from both ends Maryssa 🍑🔥
😂😂😂 it was a little toasty that night 🔥
Haha it wasn’t as bad as you’d think! Trick is to move fast 🏃🏻♀️
Браво, "Super"
You should know that who dance Horo is never get Cancer❗
If you liked this festival, you will also like the one at Zheravna. It is also like a bit of a living history thing because there is a dress code, but I believe you can rent traditional costumes there. It starts this month on the 18th. And last year there were nearly 25 000 people.
That sounds wonderful! We will have to come back to see it ☺️
Oh, you two are so sweet! Terrific coverage of an important festival (and, as always, AWESOME food). GO BULGARIA! (Where have you been all these years?!)
So glad you liked it!!
