    I’ve always loved that Yngwie plays a Fender , in a time where lots of his colleagues where using pointy/sharpened guitars he remained classy and classic... I will have this guitar one day

      that is a great point and i felt the same way. I was using Strat style bodies before i heard Yngwie...never had owned a real Strat. I was using 80s humbucker metal guitars. I knew Hendrix used one but i looked at it as a country music instrument even though Clapton played one. I was wrong. I love the glassy tone plus it can get raunchy!

      Johnny Anderson yes! At some point in my late teens early twenties I played custom les pauls, then I entered a band where we played everything from chicago to chick corea to robbie williams lol and i noticed my custom Lp was very limited to sounds it could make to my buddy’s fender american strat 50th aniv... I sold it and bought myself an Eric Clapton strat... since that day 11 years ago I’ve only owned strats ... Having a Strat is like saying out loud to the world “ I’m a guitarist”...... thanks Jonny keep inspiring !

      @@johnnyanderson8901 You are correct, Strat's where originally made for country music, but as we know they can do a whole lot more than just country ( I think country guitarts are the most underrated player's in the world ) the idea behind the bolt on neck was if you broke the neck you could get a replacement. The " Good o'l boy's must have had strong hand's back in the day, they would have broken a Les Paul before the first song ended .

      Thank you Johnny your very polite , I was brought up same. But you don't have call me Sir , it makes me feel old ha , I'd say where around the same age. Thank you though but call me Ciaran ( the C is pronounced as a K , there's no K in the Gaelic Alphabet ) I've got a 71 blonde American strat the same colour as your Yngwie strat except it's a rose wood neck it's my main guitar when I play live, I've been playing in clubs & pubs since I was 16 & haven't stopped. Anyway I've got a couple of chenders , I found a great person In China, he makes really good strat copies he basically did exactly what I asked. I always look for a very solid neck the neck on both of them have curly maple necks the back of the necks are beautiful. I got a brass nut which is suprisingly very well made, I put a hs3 & a hs4 in them I'm not a big fan of the fury pickups I use as I said has3's & hs4's the furys are so similar to the Seymour Duncans it's crazy, I believe Yngwie worked with them to give the furys a tad more bite , that's the only difference . Yngwie acted like he went on this huge tone quest. He didn't , he acted like he worked so hard with Seymour Duncan, THERE HS3's made by Seymour Duncan . Anyway I like the Chenders , for a$180 guitar with a scalloped neck it's ridiculously cheap. I put new fender machine heads & a Fender standard tremolo in them as well I have them floating & they stay in tune while I use & abuse fender tremelos , from very subtle to Floyd Rose like abuse I mean I've broken fender tremelo arms in my old American strat so many times it had to be coil tapped & had a slightly thicker arm on the trem, it hasn't broken yet.... fingers crossed hahaha. I also put new hs3's & hs4s In the chenders set them up & they sound fantastic. Do you think the Fender American Yngwie Strat where I'm at they are $3600 if your lucky usually around &4000 + ,is it in your opinion worth paying that much ? I mean of course its going to be very well made, hey it's an American fender they are beautiful but I've already got a real 71 strat do you think the YJM U.S. Fenders are worth $3600 ? I mean $1700 is a steal, most of the Indonesian premium Ibanez are more min $1700 where I live & some are priced for well over $2000 ! I mean the Chenders I've got after I upgrade it & I put Fender tremolo & tuners, hs3's & 4's in it & set the action low, it costs me around $500 + & if you find a good guitar company in China you can communicate with in English ,you'll get quality wood & a good guitar that are quite well made. You've got to find a good company, most aren't too big on quality control. I guess I push him to use the finest maple necks he can make with this amazing curly maple even on the headstock. So would you pay $3600 min for a brand new American Yngwie strat ? I've been thinking of it, but I just bought a 70's White les Paul custom this beautiful guitar plays beautifully but it's so beat up, it would make the custom shop proud. And I've bought 5 other guitars in under a year. And sorry it's a little bit of a long reply, but I have no idea until I post it . It took me just about a minute to write this, I write fast & I read fast I thought everyone did until I got told off for writing a long reply on another guitar site on TH-cam ! To him maybe it was "long" but as I said I read & write fast I thought most people did but I've noticed people are starting to communicate with emoji's alone & that's an indictment of how people CHOOSE to communicate & the school system & some being inherently lazy. I've found a lot of the newer generations are very lazy not all of course . Emoji's & abbreviations are like pre school communication . I will not be part of it, from Shakespeare to lol ......sigh. So I hope none of your subscribers get upset, I've noticed a reply this long is too much to read for a lot of people & that's sad. So that's the bottom line I guess. Look forward to your reply, Take care.

      @@cygnus1965 Sorry about the msg, I thought you were from another thread & I apologise. About chender's, I just found company's I don't know there name's & I can't give a name because I cant remember sorry Bro .There are so many company's , they are all made in the same factory I'd say but with different vendors , they are getting expensive like everything is else is, far too expensive to justify buying one . By the time you get new pup's because the one's that come stock just feed back & are microphonic , making them unplayable a new trem all new electronics & a new quality nut & counting in labour cost & hoping that they dont screw the neck up, it would cost you less to buy a second hand REAL American Stratocaster. That's my advice, I bought them out of curiosity not because I need them . I really recommend that you not waist you'r time & hard earned money on honestly a piece of crap Chinese copy , & it's a copy in look's only .I had spare pup's & one of my best friend's is a guitar tech, he did all the labour for free. buy a real strat or if they are too expensive have a look at the Harley benton range, they are great quality for a great price I've heard & seen on TH-cam guitar channels. They have guitar's with roasted maple neck's, stainless steel frets & by all account's are fantastic at a very low price for what you get.I hope that helped, Peace Bro

    I've wanted this guitar since I was 16, but I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a stratocaster. Then, one day, I saw it on Facebook marketplace for $900. I made sure to do all the research to make sure it wasn't a fake, and I bought it. The guitar is ALMOST perfect. My only issue is the three way switch instead of a five way. However, that was an easy fix. Now, it's perfect.

    Scale length is 25 1/2 just like all strats regardless of fret number. Shorter scale results in less string tension. The shorter the string length is, the less tension it takes to bring it to pitch.

They don't have the made in the USA logo on the inside anymore, and even though I love the guitar I am going to have to have some major set up done because the frets are beyond atrocious. I can't believe whoever inspected this guitar allowed it to go out like this. rough as hell when you bend a string on them and it feels like there is finish caked on them. Also the high E slips off the frets so easy it's ridiculous. So for a Fender made in the USA, I have to say major thumbs down to them. I did pay someone to set it up and it plays pretty good however, it seems like every couple of months I have to keep raising the 1st string. It buzzes out and when bending it dies. I have had to raise it on 3 separate occasions. I am hearing it might have a high fret (21st). For what i paid for the guitar and what I paid to have it set up i just think it should play better. Johnny, does it have a 5 way or 3 way blade switch? Is your tremelo blocked or floating? Jumbo or medium frets? You play great by the way and explain things pretty well...subbed.

    • @johnnyanderson8901
      @johnnyanderson8901  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does have a three way. I am sorry that I did not bring that out. I think the frets are like super duper jumbo. I do not know much about the tremolo and I have never been able to keep a non locking tremolo in tune. So I doubt I ever use the bar. Thank you so much for watching.

    As a fellow Malmsteen fan, I am pleased for you! I am however a little puzzled as to the choice of a polyurethane finish on the body of this guitar. It's the most expensive artist series guitar that Fender currently make, and Yngwie is known to like well worn equipment, so I would have expected a nitrocellulose lacquer on the body, which ages very nicely over time. I also don't understand why Fender covers the pickguard with cellophane to the point where the pots have to be loosened to remove it.

    • @johnnyanderson8901
      @johnnyanderson8901  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the observation. I think if Yngwie wants to pick up a signature guitar he would probably want it to feel aged. Hence the thin lacquer. i am totally onboard with the cellophane complaint. Why? Lol. Thanks for watching man.

    I want an yngwie ax.....I have 7 electrics, but my go to for shredding, is my Jackson DKII Pro series. Trans amber flame top. Modded, of course. I actually have a Floyd Rose II Trem on it, but replaced the block. I bought the block direct from the Floyd Rose site. All gold hardware. It's an HSS configuration. I took out the original "Duncan design" bridge pup and I replaced it with the SH6 bridge pup and it growls. I have a Dimarzio super distortion in my other Jackson and that thing sounds amazing too. But it's a cheapy, $300 JS model with the cheap Floyd Rose special trem.
    I'd love to make my guitars so that they all have quick connect pups, that'd be pretty cool to be able to swap pups in seconds!
    I recently purchased a Jem Jr as well, cool guitar I suppose. Fun, stays in tune fairly well through much trem bomb abuse etc...
    But yeah, my Jackson DKII Pro......simply amazing.
    Want to trade? Lmao!
    You know I'm just kidding, nice to see you make a video man. Keep rockin.

    More frets doesn't necessarily change to scale length of the guitar, but a shorter scale length definitely creates less tension from the strings not more.

    • @gregdiprinzio9280
      @gregdiprinzio9280 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the same problem. And with the string breaking on those really thin Yngwie strings. I put a thicker high e string on it and it helps. I don't know why they couldn't just add a more width to the neck. I think you just have to adjust your playing technique as I've had to.

    • @howardosugars8922
      @howardosugars8922 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Greg Diprinzio yes, I’ve had to alter my technique a bit too, it’s been worth it tho as I love bending strings with the scalloped fretboard, almost effortless.

    • @gregdiprinzio9280
      @gregdiprinzio9280 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@howardosugars8922 Yeah, that's a real plus. I like that too. But for playing chords you need a real light touch or you can bend a chord out of tune. I think Yngwie trained himself with a particular technique of minimal movement ( right hand) for speed and minimal touch (left hand) for conservation of energy to increase stamina. Probably one needs, like Yngwie, to make this type of guitar the only one you play so you stay used to it.

    First I'm new to your channel......absolutely KILLER chops!!! Now.....If I'm not mistaken, whether you've been playing a 22 fret strat or 21 fret guitar...... the scale length should be identical. Scale length (25.5" for Fender strat) is measured from the nut to the bridge, so 21 or 22 (even Ibanez's 24 fret guitars also are 25.5" scale length) shouldn't make a difference......more psychological than anything I assume.
