      I think it's a little more than that. It seems that the standard of First Class is really sliding to nothing more than Economy Plus. I'm just not accusing AA, but I think all domestic airlines in the United States. Last year I was in First Class and asked for just a little bit more Macadamia Nut Snack and the flight attendant looked at me as if I wanted her kidney, she chuckled and then left. I still don't know what that was all about. If you want further proof just look at how much of a downward spiral in first class happened when Alaskan acquired Virgin America.

      Guys, fly within Europe on any given main airline and Business class is the same configuration and seats as economy if on a single aisle aircraft. Thats for sure the reason why airlines in the US are trying to copy that product.

      The so called business class on the Neo is roughly equivalent to most long haul premium economy seats. Just flew from Hawaii to Phoenix, overnight. Absolutely brutal - will never book business on a Neo again. Limited recline, thin padding, very uncomfortable. My flight out was via Dallas and on a 777 with fully lie flat business - night and day better. This is a significant down grade in service offering.

    It's absolutely the wrong direction. I'm an AA frequent flyer and 8/10 times I fly with them the WIFI system is down and the captain has to reboot it and even after that it still doesn't work, leaving you with absolutely nothing to do on flights. Taking away the PTV is just a way of spending less money even after making record profits fueled by baggage fees, and has nothing to do with the future. This actually feels like a step back in aviation.

      @Lando CalrisiaN How is being a flight attendant? And I’m not sure about American but on delta they have PTV’s on almost every aircraft I fly. And they also have WiFi but I. Find it slow. But maybe Americans is faster, I’m not sure. Do they provide devices on American Airlines in case people don’t bring them?
      Also some iPads may not work or have mechanical issues or may freeze. And so far the PTV’s on Delta don’t freeze or anything. But I’ll survive either way. I fly domestic usually on narrowbody aircrafts. Up to 4 and a half hours max. I guess it’s just for long haul flights that this worries me. What if there is no outlet for the iPad? Newark to Singapore is give or take a 18 hour flight. What if you forget your iPad, or the on board WiFi crashes, or there are no outlets? I just think none of those things are issues if there are PTV’s. But since you are a flight attendant you probably know a lot more than me about this.

      You do know that the cabin layout and all of its features and amenities is determined by the airline, right? AA could have put 50” flat screens at each seat if they wanted; they chose nothing. Considering these planes will be flying longer segments (4-6 hours is not out of the question) that’s a long time to stare at the in-flight magazine, in my opinion. In 2019, there should be PTVs. I do like the lighting, large bins and the look of the seats though, but that legroom isn’t great considering there isn’t even an IFE box to take up vital space.

Of course his reasoning is unassailable. To paraphrase, "Why give passengers any more amenities or make their experience any more comfortable when they'll fill up our planes anyway. All passengers care about are cheap, cheap rock bottom fares." There's no denying, he's absolutely correct. Look at the success of Spirit and Frontier, who's cabin offerings are beyond deplorable - and people still pile on.

I too wish AA didn’t eliminate the PTVs, but since they did it would’ve been nice if you showed how the device holders worked for the different devices that flyers carry with them. You mentioned the two different device holders, but didn’t really go in depth as to how they worked. You might endeavor demonstrating how to set them up in the holders. Your showing a laptop sitting on a table or an iPhone laying in its holder was not very informative. And why wouldn’t American want to look out for its crews? I hope your coach flight is more informative.

    Really like that aircraft (And hope to fly it someday). What a shame AA didn’t really gave a shit about that amazing aircraft even tough it looks more comfortable than the 737’s but over estimated the Max when it arrived just because it is American-Made. I really appreciate American-Made products but never been a fan of the 737.

      Justin Kennedy actually, illuminated signs not.
      If I’m not mistaken, AA’s own 737s with sky interior don’t have illuminated no-smoking signs. Maybe the had them installed in the airbus for consistency?
      Then there is this:
      “No person may operate an airplane on a flight on which smoking is prohibited by part 252 of this title unless either the “No Smoking” passenger information signs are lighted during the entire flight, or one or more “No Smoking” placards are posted during the entire flight segment.
      “If both the lighted signs and the placards are used, the signs must remain lighted during the entire flight segment.”

    Thanks, didn't know AA was getting the NEO. Nice to see they have added a row in First, but wish they kept the same 38 inch pitch as their 32B's (but better than the 36" on A321's from USAir - still much less than the B737-800's 40+) I prefer seatback IFE, but understand their decision not put them in as they have free own device IFE (eliminates a lot of weight and saves fuel). The device holders are huge improvements as is storage area under the armrest. So outside a little less legroom, I am happy with the new seats. Strange it took so long for breakfast to be served. Here is my take on American's First Class on their A321's patstravelreviews.com/american-airlines-a321-first-class-review/

    • @patconte1853
      @patconte1853 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, basically. It's the distance from the back of your seat to the back of the seat in front of you. So it is a good way to measure legroom/kneeroom @@Marco-wz3ff

      Flown both.. still prefer Boeing. From the passenger point of view the interiors are basically the same because the seats are made by the same manufacturer. The difference without a doubt is the extra space in lavatories. The 737 is a great airplane that should probably should have been re-designed on the 90s but for economic pressures it didn't. So here we are.

  • @ruddysantana833

    About this video the Aircraft is really nice with the exception that I EXTREMELY DISLIKE THIS NEW PROTOCOL THESE AMERICAN AIRLINES ARE ADOPTING NOW OF OPTING OUT OF HABING TV ENTERTAINMENT IN THERE FLIGHTS. I mean it gives airlines a more cool and modern vibe. It’s the 21st century the tech era how you go from having tv to not having TV. Unacceptable. All major airlines should have tv on their flights.

  • @TheBdriver
    @TheBdriver 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Its impressive and the fact that it can remain airborne for 12 hrs according to other sources means great value for the airlines. But hell if I'd be caught dead flying overseas on one or anywhere beyond 5 or 6 hr's Business class would be the only logical choice. 6 across economy cramming is simply wrong but sadly we can probably expect to see more of that as technology increases. Great fuel to profit ratios for the airlines. With this kind of tech available now I can see more and more of them in the skies short or far and larger wide bodies going the way of the dinosaurs. Except for maybe cargo applications. 777s are well liked for that right now. My father worked for Air Canada when I grew up and now a days I see boards in Calgary for example showing B737 800 service to Honolulu and I cringe. Flew from Vancouver there when I was younger on a 747 with 50 people on it lol... those were the days. I was spoiled. Anything longer than 3 or 4 hrs and I want nothing to do with narrow bodies with zero leg and arm room in economy.

    American is trying to make the crew’s experience better, which is, in turn, making the passenger’s experience better. After all, “Happy Crew means Happy Passengers” - some Pan Am executive... probably. Thank god the Space-flex lavatories are nonexistent. Everything is good, but there’s a couple of changes necessary. First: replace the divider with a proper bulkhead. Not as sturdy IMO, and not as private. Second: just give each seat PTVs. BYOD entertainment is NOT a replacement. It may maximize profits, but “Money speaks the loudest.” Don’t fly with AA because of BYOD IFE, and they’ll change it back to PTVs. Or better yet, just read a bloody book. There’s thousands of good novels out there. My next upcoming flight, I’m going to read a Star Trek: Voyager novel, and Trek was better with Rick Berman as Showrunner.
