If one is serious about on-going formation, then daily prayer and Scripture reading, along with weekly attendance at Mass is indispensable. To be a disciple requires a big investment of time, but the disciple quickly finds she or he gets back far more from the Lord than the Lord asks of him or her. I have also found it very helpful to include a daily TV mass as part of my daily prayer schedule, and now the day doesn't feel 'right' without it. God has so much to give, if we let Him...
I needed to hear this. I love your videos so much. You have such a fun and simple way of explaining Jesus and Catholicism. Thank you for your work. I will pray for you daily
How to get formation in the first place. They discussed the Sunday gospel in my class. Totally didn't help because i grew up on the Bible. I was confirmed on only that. O tried to get permission to go to a class later and was refused. I told them why and was still refused. Guess they didn't care if i knew anything or not. Now that I'm 68 it's too overwhelming trying to learn. I was taught by a rad trad a few things but didn't pay attention to his complaints about the church. I went to a Rosary group every Saturday with him family. He got us all brown scapulars and we were installed. The were very good and i never forgot them. The Carmelite Sisters taught me a little. Beyond that i know nothing. People say things and i wonder why they just don't use common sense. The Church doesn't have to make their decisions for them.
I’m nipping at your heels at 62, and yes, it can seem daunting! But do not give up! Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to learn and understand! There are two well paced podcasts (besides this one ❤) that are worthwhile, The Catechism in a Year, and the Bible in a Year. Jump in and keep just showing up. Our Lord is The Word, he desires that we know him. He is faithful. Praying with you and for you.
Ok , this is odd I was under the impression I should be obedient to an advisor. To "form myself " is a scary idea, having come out of a protestant cult I already experienced forming myself and being misinformed. Now the last spiritual advisor I had told me that I didn't need formation, there was plenty information on You-Tube. So the why have a advisor ? If all I need to do is do you tube search and trust the algorithms are from God. Something tells me this is ridiculous . You ever see the movie "Priest" . A futuristic movie where confessions are done on the internet. God forbid we have sunk to that level where You Tube has replaced personal relationships. I am really at the point of accepting this idea of "forming myself" and stop looking for validation and support from the Church.
@@patman_for_sure how am I too know ? Do I pray morning prayer and nightly examen . That's it ? Or do I pray the offices 3 times a day, 5 times , 7 times ? Am I just to simply do what I think is right for me ?

Pray before and after lunch. Pray the Divine Mercy Have a nap Wake up and go to church for the Holy Hour. Try to walk if you can as the sacrifice of stress helps you. Then open a random verse and chapter, and start reading. You can pick out a different verse or chapter at random once again, then continue reading. Do this for about thirty minutes. @@lonniestoute8762 I gave a reply but I don't think it posted. I recommend the following: Do the Angelus. It will teach you discipline and sacrifice, as well as worship. Pray before and after meals. Teaches you gratitude for the Lord, and realization that all good things come from Him, not our work. Pray the Divine Mercy. Helps counter guilt and shows proper love for the whole world. The Holy Hour where you spend an hour with the Lord in The Blessed Sacrament. You can read your scripture there. Also, pray your daily rosary here. Then attend mass. Wisdom then is like Humility, in that we see God, the goodness, love, truth, life and beauty of Him, and ourselves in relation to Him. That passage St. Paul spoke, about wanting to attain eternal life by growing in knowledge of Christ, also shows that he did NOT hold to the view that he had already attained eternal life..... Just sayin'.🙏🕊❤✝️⛪

It's all gone a bit fancy with your new music and that 🎉
I do miss the old little tune❤
But seriously I like it especially as the vids are longer👍🙏
This is a specific series don’t worry, old music is still present in the Little by little episodes

And I think what they mean by "forming yourself" is taking more personal responsibility over your spiritual journey
