    In this video I want to talk to you about how to overcome sugar cravings naturally. If you want to overcome sugar cravings, you need to follow these four steps:
    1) Get the right foods in your diet
    • Adding in foods that balance your blood sugar levels and insulin such as healthy protein, fat, and fiber
    2) Get sugar and grains out of your diet
    • Slowly wean yourself off of sugars and grains and find some healthy replacements that satisfy the sweet craving
    3) Take the right supplements that will help balance blood sugar levels
    • Chromium is a great option (200 micrograms 3x a day), a B-complex vitamin, and a probiotic supplement
    4) Start doing the right kind of exercise
    • Weight training or burst training instead of long distance cardio exercise (isometric exercise like barre class or yoga)
    If you follow these four steps, you will see major improvements in overcoming your sugar cravings naturally.

    Sugar makes you happy for minutes. Being a healthy weight makes you happy all day long.
    Say that to yourself every time you are about to give in. Also, a little fun fact is that taking a quick shower can help reset your cravings. If you find the urge for sugar is very strong, try taking a shower. It should get rid of the cravings. Bonus is that a shower always feels great!

    Industrialized food production puts sugars of all kinds in just about everything they can. So once the addiction is overcome, a person then needs to read EVERY food label. And some sugars are more troublesome than others.

    Research shows that sugar is 8 times more addictive than cocaine. Food manufacturers know that and that is why you will find sugar in almost everything you consume. Your body doesn't know the difference between the types of sugar you eat. Eating fruit, although it contains sugar, is a healthier alternative. The fiber content helps to slow down the absorption of the sugars.

      +Vicky Lynn Yep! And the vast majority of people get accustomed to refined sugar as children, unfortunately. Then, they have to ween themselves off of it later when one learns that that stuff is an engineered food that's really not nutritious at all. If it's designed for a long shelf life, don't eat it. Refined sugar is powder like cocaine. I like what you said!

When omitting sugar from my diet I noticed that teas with floral herbs like rose petal, jasmine, peach, etc don't require any sugar to 'seem' sweet to me. Technically I don't believe they are sweet but the scent fools me somehow into not needing to sweeten it to enjoy it.

      Does Weil still push soy? Most real alternative or integrative doctors know that soy is an endocrine disruptor (sluggish thyroid). It messes with hormones in both men and women.
      BTW, I was treated for candida by a naturopath. Candida is real. And most AMA trained medical doctors won't even go there (due to their lack of training).

    Hi, I can attest to the fact that increasing protein alone in your diet can really help with sugar cravings. I had thought I was addicted to sugar, but it seems now that I'm really having a protein deficiency which masqueraded itself as sugar addiction.
    I started to have a sugar craving the first day of my "no sugar" journey (1st day of my 110th try, that is) and I decided instead to eat a few shreds of rotisserie chicken which really satisfied me and helped me wait until supper. It also whacked that sugar craving out! Since then, I'm making a more dedicated effort daily to increase my protein, and noticing I'm not even craving sugar! Is that really me saying that??? I will be sure to incorporate the other tips you gave here as well like increasing fiber and so on. I crave fruit, but I don't go crazy over it. One orange or a few pieces watermelon and some berries with a little bit of heavy cream (all organic of course) and it completely satisfies me. In other words I'm not subbing fruit for my sugar benders and eating fruit all day long. I'll also be sure to consider the other suggestions you made about increasing fiber and so on. Thanks!

      I know this is an old post but you don’t have to put fruit. Check our be well by kelly (author and nutritionist kelly leveque wrote a book called body love) she explains this in good and simple detail. She calls the smoothie fab 4. She recommends if you do fruit to just to 1/4 cup. Sometimes I’ll do half banana or half an apple. But if I’m really buckling down I don’t do any fruit. I’ll do cashew butter or almond butter for healthy fats along with chia seeds or flaxseeds, cashew milk, spinach, cinnamon, protein powder.. sometimes I add other super foods but for the most part this works fine and depending on your protein powder that makes a difference in the sweetness. You can add stevia if needed. She says to eat your fruit. Don’t waste it in a smoothie. I do fruit smoothies on days I feel sick because of all the added nutrients.

    • @CoushattaL
      @CoushattaL 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      I doubt that's what he meant. A smoothie doesn't have to contain dozens of different fruit. It can have literally just half a banana or serving size of strawberries and that's all.

    Something that has been working for me in the last few weeks is to force myself to eat some fruit (e.g. a banana or two, an apple) before allowing myself to give into a sugar craving. If I still feel like eating something sugary afterwards I definitely do it, but since I already have a full stomach and a healthy sugar high I hardly ever overdo it anymore.

    Thank you for the information! I have to disagree with the last point about weight training. I actually find myself EXTREMELY hungry for carbs and sugar after weightlifting. Weightlifting (although I love it) has caused me to go off track with my diet because I get this insatiable, crazy desire to consume all the worst foods. Any thoughts on that?

    brilliant. i' have transformed once before, this is my second time. having weight issues my entire life. literally went from chubby kid to fashion model then back to fat young adult then now im on my way back to thinness. everyone tells you just stop eating but its not that for those of us that have long term issues. your body literally craves this stuff. what this guy says is so true. the more protein, veggies/fiber things, and natural fat like avocados i eat the less i crave the junk. lost 65 pounds have 10 to go, im looking good and exercise is also a big thing! i wish more people would understand obesity has reasons behind it, its not just a person is lazy. its a battle for some of us. this doctor is very smart!

      Virginia Rector honey's bad for you? not if you use raw honey you can eat that as much as you like, but yes honey will increase you appetite if you take it in the morning, but also gives you the satisfaction to not eat any other chemical sweets. honey is ant bacterial anti inflammatory both with the internal and external uses

Eat a cake or something xD I was doing weight training as well. but now I am dealing with the contrary. I need ice-cream, cakes, whatever ... Everyday. Yeah yeah I did that. It just becomes so overwhelming I massively relapse.
      "I did thay"> I stayed sugar free for almost an year. I was absolutely MISERABLE. / I also didn't eat anything for 19 days, the cravings got stronger.
      "So overwhelming"> unstoppable obsessions making me unable to think about anything during the day. Trying to steal sugary things from the garbage or things dropped on the sidewalk. Tears after every meal (not of sadness, but for both relief and terrifying sense of comfusion due to alteration of sugar in the blood), more tears even for 2 hours most days (due to the cravings and the anxiety to end up giving in), slow heartbeat and slowed thinking against an hyper state with sugar- when I felt much better and quick but couldn't actually achieve anything like reading or finishing the tasks at hand.
      It has been a CONSTANT battle since 12 years.

    • @luciatat4084
      @luciatat4084 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@etrebelle9812 maybe you have some nutrient deficiency that makes it very hard for you to quit sugar. Also, my advice would be don’t do it cold turkey, have fruit at least. I think our bodies need sugar, just not the refined one and the processed foods. It is ok to have fruits, vegetables, a little bit of honey and even a little bit of dark chocolate. It’s going to the extremes that makes it impossible; maybe try to keep your sugar intake very low and that would probably help better then not having anything sweet. I don’t think having fruit will make you want cookies and icecream. Becouse fruit is healthy sugar, as long as you have it in moderation.
