So happy that you enjoyed this! It is one of my favorite SK books. I suspect you will get a wide range of recommendations for your next king read, and I will be interested to see what you select.

Thanks! Yea I’m not sure where to go next, the two I want to read most IT and The Stand are so massive, I’m not sure I can fit them in soon. I think Billy Summers is a more appropriate size, where do you I should go next?

@@SpacedOutReads Pet Semetary is one that stuck with me for years...good story/writing, but pretty depressing. I haven't read Billy Summers yet...of the "newer" ones, I have read "The Institute" and "Joyland"...both very good. "Joyland" was very nostalgic for me & I am not sure how that would impact someone younger. Honestly, you can't go wrong with just about any of them. I would probably caution that some have lots of tie-ins to the Dark Tower universe (which I haven't read) and that can make for some moments of confusion. Good luck and enjoy!

Salem's Lot is awesome! So glad you enjoyed it. I read this before Empire of the Vampire, so I could really see the inspiration Kristoff got from King. Was great to pick up on!

Oh that’s such a cool way to read it, have you read any of his other works?

Great vid. Salem's Lot is definitley one of my favourite Stephen King books. There was a miniseries made in the 70's with David Soul (Hutch from Starsky and Hutch) as Ben Mears. I saw it when I was a kid and it frightened the living p*** out of me.
You've got so many options with where to go next, If you prefer something more grounded in reality then Misery is fantastic. If you want something more supernatural then Pet Semetary, Carrie and The Shining are great. If you want something a bit bigger to get your teeth into then IT and The Stand are two of his best.
Or if you want to go back to fantasy and want a big epic reading list, then go for The Gunslinger and read the Dark Tower series. Word of warning though, if you want to get the most out of the Dark Tower series, it references a LOT of his other books so there's an extended reading order that encompasses all of them. There's even a pretty big reference to Salem's Lot in there.

Thanks for the run down! 😀
I don’t know where I’ll go yet, but I’ll refer to this when it’s time for my King read, he’s so good!

I did not enjoy that mini series very much. The casting for Ben Mears was all wrong and the way he was written for the movie compared to the book, he felt just plain boring. That and Ben Mears isn't blonde. lol

11/22/63 No question. One of his best period.

I think any of the big ones are good recommendations, Misery, Pet Sematary, the Stand, IT, and 11/22/63. I’d just judge based on the mood you’re in when you’re thinking of picking one up.

Theres some very cool paranormal, scifi, post-apocalyptic horror out there 🤪 The Pine Deep Trilogy is one of my favorite series across genres.

Salems lot was my first King book, and probably my last for quite a while. I felt the part of the book I actually enjoyed was far too short, and the set up was far far far too long. The climax of the story was exceptional, but I didn’t feel the payoff was worth it. Add to that the writing style which I (subjectively) didn’t like, and just wasn’t my favourite book. Very glad you enjoyed it though, and I’ll give it another shot in 5 years or so

I love the wine bottle stand.
It's actually really useful. Your hand constantly by your mouth was somewhat distracting
