    Thanks for this Phyllis and Adam. I like your matter of fact presentation style. Accessible and informative. I’ve watched this twice in prep for my next Conex lean to build.

      I've had that thought. Actually looking at it from the front, it would be really easy to build a monitor style building out of it.

    Hello Adam and Phyllis, connex's are good to have and your lean-to looks pretty sturdy. I rented a place at Deshka Landing for my boat, $135 a month for this Winter. Good to see a video from you. Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks bud. We get so much snow here that I have to keep it off the boat or it'll get wrecked. Connex's are expensive but really nice for this situation. Stay safe out there!

    Hi there. New subscribers from Northern Ontario. Found your channel through Curmudge Inn! I was browsing your videos and this caught my eye. We did a similar project years ago before we started TH-cam. Very cool. I think we might do something like this again at our off grid place. Look forward to checking out your other videos as well. Nice! Does water run down the outside right edge of the container or did you caulk under the board that was drilled to the long top edge of the container to divert water?

    • @alaskacutthecord769
      @alaskacutthecord769  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you. I did put a sealant beneath the sill plate for the vertical stub wall. Also, the container has a 3 degree list to the left to make sure that it drains away from the wall.

    what's going to stop the vertical posts from moving outward and sideways other than the weight. Are the post blocks locked onto the ground somehow?

    • @alaskacutthecord769
      @alaskacutthecord769  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thats a good question. The extra bracing helps but still isn't enough. In a month or so 6 yards of gravel in coming and going to be compacted around and up to the bottom of the post to lock it all together.

    how can the water come off the shipping container

    • @alaskacutthecord769
      @alaskacutthecord769  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It just runs off the sides. It's meant to be on ships in the ocean so they're quite water tight!

    • @alaskacutthecord769

      There is a treated sill plate that is screwed to the connex.

    Can a person have too much storage? Yes, I am proof. I collect and store more stuff than anyone I know. If you have a lot of storage your parents, siblings are friends think you have room for their things as well. George Carlin had it right "All my Stuff"
