For 20 year old games, a lot of titles on this list have impressive graphics.

The original Xbox was an absolute beast, it's graphics would routinely blow me away at the time. I played more PS2/GC in general, but some of my best memories of the generation come from the Xbox and games like KOTOR, Fusion Frenzy, Amped, Crazy Taxi 3, Serious Sam, Worms 3D, and on and on

I was a ps2 child, but god damn i was so jealous whenever I would go over to my friends house and they would system link up two xbox to play halo. My little mind was blown, I instantly needed an xbox. Finally got one when halo 2 came out. My god the graphics was so amazing; then I played ninja gaiden black, and i was so blown away by the graphics i couldn't believe what i was playing. The xbox was so cool; no memory card, you could play custom soundtrack during game play that was so freak'n cool. Every racing game became need for speed under ground jaming to "get low" haha; damn good time. The OG xbox was fantastic

First, PS2 has LAN mode too. Time splitter is one of many games who supported LAN mode.
Second, why do you think having no memory card is superior? Memory card was there to move game save from one machine to another, cause cloud saving was not a thing back then.
Third, graphic for Xbox og is the same as PS2.

I was fortunate to own one at the time and i fell in love with it more than the ps2 we owned. Xbox live, custom music playlist, best graphics, surround sound, Halo, and then the Modding scene blowing up make it, IMO, the best console of the generation. So good that even today i own three 2tb fully loaded modded original Xboxes.

My brothers and I played the absolute hell out of Fusion Frenzy, Conker: Live & Reloaded, Cel Damage, Turok: Evolution, Def Jam: Fight for NY, Mech Assault 2: Lone Wolf, 007 Nightfire, Halo/2, and SSX Tricky, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. They helped me into gaming, I was about 6 years old when I first was handed an xbox controller. As I grew up and started to play solo, there were so many games that blew my mind or engaged me in a way that is very rare with gaming for me now. Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone, Fable, TES 3: Morrowind, GTA III, NFS Underground 2/Most Wanted, The Suffering, Hunter: The Reckoning, Burnout 3, LoTR The Two Towers, etc. Plenty of games my cousins, uncles, and I all engaged in. We were an xbox family, and I know some of y'all came up the same way. I hope I rang off a couple games that you haven't thought about in a while ;)
Plus Phantom Dust years later, as an extra deep cut.

What a console; Sega discontinuing the DreamCast was such an absolute catastrophe at the time, but... the original XBox; Man, the original XBox... it felt like a continuation of sorts.
It had a stellar library of games, spectacular first parties and most important of all; Excellent Sega exclusives!
That alone made it worth its weight in gold.
Good work capturing footage for AirForce Delta; The original on DreamCast is one of my all time favourites, but never gave the second one on XBox a shot, which is quite unfortunate.
All in all; Wonderful video! I've played quite a few of the games listed here and the ones I didn't looked like they could be some serious fun.

Very nicely done. I did notice this game lineup seemed to be for the European launch, as titles like RalliSport Challenge and Jet Set Radio Future were released in North America after the Xbox’s release here in 2001 (both titles were released in early 2002, thus the games were technically released within the “launch window” ie the first sixth months of the system’s life cycle), but I still enjoyed watching this.
And thinking about it, the launch lineup of most game consoles simply doesn’t compare to what gets released after it.

Yes, the Xbox was sometimes referred to as the 'Halo console' and things may have turned out very differently if MS didn't acquire Bungie and Halo from Mac.
Besides that there were other exclusive games cherished by us core Xbox gamers of the time
Project Gotham Racing (though started as MSR on Dreamcast)
      DeathRow
Bruteforce (good but it couldn't live up to the massive hype)
      Jet Set Radio (excluding Dreamcast)
      NBA Inside Drive series
      Phantom Dust
SteelBattalion (too expensive with the controller)
      Quantum Redshift
      NFL Fever
      Midtown Madness 3
      Kameo
      Blinx
      Amped

Was there day 1 here in the UK. The games I got with it was Halo and Wreckless. Halo blew my mind and was just so revolutionary (oh and the grass, look at the realistic grass!) and Wreckless was a quirky, Japanese arcade racer that was so much fun with loads of secrets to find (I used the hint books that came with XBM magazine). What a phenomenal console, I remember converting 3 of my friends to get one instead of the PS2.
Great channel, good to see some focus on 6th gen from a U.K. perspective, you earned a subscriber :)

I also converted a couple friends over to Xbox after a while. It wasn't too hard with some of the games on show at the time and especially with the launch of Xbox live.

Lmao, I got the OG Xbox for Christmas as a kid and Shrek was my first game. I was simple tho so had fun just running around. But, my dad quickly bought me Oddworld and Halo and those were game changers. Me and my father had a blast on Halo's campaign in coop.

Just in case you were still curious. The version of Wreckless that was released on PS2 and, i think, game cube, was an absolute joke compared to this version. It looked like a cartoon in comparison. They were not powerful enough to run this version.

Never owned an Xbox original. Wow, I'm actually impressed with the graphics, they knew how to utilize that hardware. I can see why it was popular at the time. Graphics and presentation were a big deal in the early 2000's. Also.. Halo.. duh. haha

If you look at the specs, it had a lot more power than the PS2 even considering it released a couple years after. It helps that, if I understand it correctly, it in many ways was easier to develop for than the other two consoles given the chosen hardware, use of a hard drive, and Direct X software.
