I have been trying to find Otogi’s name for so long, I remember playing the demo and being amazed by the fact you could destroy the environment. This and Breakdown were a weird part of my gaming childhood
Love seeing OG box get some love. The list here is great because it calls out some lesser known games that had charm and character that many games just don't have today. These are among my favorites too. Great to see someone taking the time to spotlight these games decades after release. So many games deserved better sales, recognition, and perhaps sequels. I still pull out my og box now and then to fire up these very games. Thank you for making this video. Lots of nostalgia!
First time ive ever heard other people even mention otogi, Otogi 1 and 2 are easily some of from softs best work, it is almost a decade before dark souls but you can still feel the difficulty and inspiration, the destructable environments were ahead of its time too
It reminds me a lot of the PS2 Shinobi game, from the graphics, to the movements, the effects, the enemy designs, and even the overall story concept. Not that that’s a bad thing-far from it. I loved that Shinobi game, and would love to check out Otogi.
so i only found your channel today, and deep dived into your uploads. All from xbox titles at launch to RPGs on the og xbox and gems for the 360. I gotta say i really love this stuff. And as i was about to scroll down to make the most original comment i realised it's been said by so many here already. so here you go again for the 10th time, Your channel is an absolute gem.
I went to a retro gaming convention today and looked for games on various platforms. I found Raze's Hell and bought it as I had never heard of this game before. Can't even remember on that game from when I was a kid. I'm curious to how it plays.
Kung fu chaos was my jam as a kid. I was glued to my tv the weekend i got it, and razes hell was another i still think about to this day. The style of razes hell has to be what keeps it in the back of my mind. I am glad to have found your channel. I look forward to seeing more content.
Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions is the definition of a hidden gem. It has some of the best graphics of the generation, some cool vehicle designs, and fun cutscenes. It should definitely get a highlight from Camp Xbox. 🙂
I will always charish the days playing Kung fu Chaos with my brothers and sister when we were kids... we had the time of our lives on that game man with the video editor and having our own custom soundtrack with the xbox! (Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP" was a big hit with us at the time... What a gem! thanks for giving this game some love, this channel is a time capsule and im all for it
Wish Xbox would go back to the ways they were with the original and 360, even the early days of the One. They had some really good exclusives during the early days of the One generation but things have really slowed down from then.
Deathrow was such a hit for my buddy and myself on release. We played it constantly, unlocking everything, and then just doing it all over again. Even better, it all still holds up, and is a completely unoque experience in its own... Shame we never got the sequel.
You made me replay games on the og xbox and i'm having a blast ... my xbox that was sleeping in the closet for about 7 years now told me personally to thank you and to keep up the great videos ^^
I've never played Crimson Sea, but I have finished the PS2 sequel. It's amazing, probably feels very similar to the first. It has two playable characters, once you find and unlock the second. I think the devs expected that almost nobody played the first game, because the second offers a complete re-telling in the form of EVERY CG cutscene in its theater mode. I recall feeling just as confused after watching them lol
Crimson Sea is really cool ARPG and I’m really glad Koei supported the OG Xbox because they did make some pretty cool stuff. Still did wish they brought over the second one though… I am much of a retro enthusiast so Tecmo Classic Arcade makes me happy even if there aren’t a ton of game since owning an arcade machines is quite expensive and rare nowadays.
Love Otogi and Kung fu chaos would love to see both games to get fully fledged reviewes at some point 7:47 this games grahpics look really good for an og xbox title another game ill have to add it to my to play list
i recently picked up razes hell for xbox for 15$ (it usually goes for 25 to 40) and i gotta say.... WOW its a weird game but definitely one worth your time
Otogi looks like such an awesome series to get into, but those games are so rare for the OG Xbox!!! I wish I could play them somehow without forking over hundreds of dollars 😭
Dude kung fu chaos is one of my faborites from growin up an wacked awesome multiplayer game i thought no one else knew about this game great couch co op
God there's just so many cool, unique, and down right creative games on the original Xbox. It really was a platform of experimentation and creativity. It's so sad that later consoles moved away from this blend of games to a more "Dude Bro" mentality that favored FPS's.
I'm definitely interested in Crimson Sea, I've heard of it before. That Razer Hell game, I never heard of. No interest in it, but it was cool to learn about
I gotta say I am interested in that "Deathrow" title and I'm surprised. Normally I dont go for sport type games but this looks just weird enough to be good fun
Raze's Hell looks fun, reminds me of Conkers Bad Fur Day. You rarely see game like that now. Glad Dino Crisis 3 didn't make the list. Wth were Capcom thinking with that game...
Haha yeah Dino Crisis is notable in my memories because it gave me nightmares when I was younger, but revisiting it now it really is not good. I need to take a deep dive into that one on the channel.
Yeah, I think it's surprising how many Japanese games came out on the console. It's not a lot compared to the PS2 or Gamecube obviously, but a lot of companies tried their best to get a hit in Japan. It never really did work out, but I think its fun to look back at in retrospect.
Team Xbox put a lot of effort in behind the scenes to get games that appealed to the Japanese market. They campaigned heavily in the region, signed exclusive deals with domesyic developers, produced region-locked titles, but, ultimately, they weren't able to break into Japan's homogeneity. Other notable hidden gems: _Breakdown_ _Metal_ _Wolf_ _Chaos_ _Phantom_ _Dust_ _Steel_ _Battalion_ and _Line_ _of_ _Contact_
While some of these are available on PC, I would give honorable mentions to the following: Armed and Dangerous Breakdown Voodoo Vince Blinx The Time Sweeper (Yeah, I said it.) Gunvalkyrie Panzer Dragoon Orta Tork: Prehistoric Punk MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge Jade Empire
Would hate to see these hidden gems forgotten & ❤ to see them get HD remastered via a port to - or at the very least become back-compat on - modern Xbox consoles (if that program ends up getting revived), - just like SEGA did w/their 2 Otogi games. At first I'm surprised 'Kung Fu Chaos' hasn't been added to the list of back-compat titles, especially since JustAddMonsters/NinjaTheory is now owned by MicroSoft. You'd think that'd be a no-brainer. But then I remembered how some of the characters might be seen as outdated Asian sterotypes & realize how that might not bode well in today's day & age. If I were MS I would include a disclosure/warning in its description, making consumers aware this is a product of its time & "made available for game preservation purposes".
Can we get Deathrow & Crimson Sea ported or made backwards-compatible on modern Xbox consoles? I'd think UbiSoft might still own Deathrow & they've shown a ton of support for backwards-compatibility before - even og Xbox games. KOEI supports modern Xbox consoles, so why not their classic 'Crimson Sea'? If not straight up back-compat then an HD remaster or remake. Also... How is 'Razes Hell' not backwards-compatible on modern Xbox platforms, while Majesco's other games, like 'Advent Rising' are?
Really love seeing a channel appreciating the original Xbox.
I'm glad you are enjoying the channel!
So true!
Came here to comment this myself. Absolute champ.
@@dougr8646 Posted on the wrong account?
Agree. Too bad One and Series consoles failed to capture the sheer magic of the OG and 360 eras. Still thinking on buying a Series X (white version).
Kung Fu Chaos was one of those gems you play after school with the boys when couch co-op was still big
Closest I've had to scratch that Power Stone itch, such a good and well crafted game!
Kung fu chaos is GOATED! that pole swinging mini game in the water was insanity.
This whole channel is a hidden gem 🎉
Thank you I really appreciate it!
I have been trying to find Otogi’s name for so long, I remember playing the demo and being amazed by the fact you could destroy the environment. This and Breakdown were a weird part of my gaming childhood
Sounds like great childhood memories!
Kung Fu chaos was the shit I wish it would make a comeback. I believe it would be cool as a friendly multiplayer game with friends

It's worth a play, and I had the opportunity to play both. But otogi 1/2 are great. Super challenging and fun. @@Sanguivore

Jet Set Radio Future is my all-time favorite game. Highly recommended giving it a play. Especially since a new one has been teased by Sega.
JSRF is one of the best on the original Xbox!
its not a hidden gem
I went to a retro gaming convention today and looked for games on various platforms. I found Raze's Hell and bought it as I had never heard of this game before. Can't even remember on that game from when I was a kid. I'm curious to how it plays.
It's a super fun third-person shooter with a lot of different ammo options. It's a simple good time! Definitely a good pick up.
Kung fu chaos was my jam as a kid. I was glued to my tv the weekend i got it, and razes hell was another i still think about to this day. The style of razes hell has to be what keeps it in the back of my mind. I am glad to have found your channel. I look forward to seeing more content.
Thanks for sharing the memories! Glad you enjoyed!
So happy to see a channel finally mention Crimson Sea. LOVED that game growing up.
You make really nice content. No nitpicks. Not franchise smug hating. Just games.
Thank you! I try to make sure every game gets a fair chance!
I like how you glanced over the raunchy, downright "spike tv" comedy style of Kung-Fu Chaos. It aged well, I still love it lol

Otogi is 4k on the series x and it looks Incredible
Yeah, Otogi already looks great on the Xbox so it's nice to see that definition upgrade on the Series X.
@@campxbox Also Crimson Skies and the 2nd Part of Otogi :)
but i would also LOVE to see Crimson Sea there :)

Great list. Another bit of a hidden gem is Crimson Skies. It's on the arcadey side of a flight sim.
One of my all time favorites!

Crimson Sea!!! I thought I was the only person that played it! Love your channel.

I have been looking for a channel like this
Deathrow is really one of those "Colonel, I'm dummy thicc" sort of games.
man i miss jet set radio future
Ninja was my favourite character in Kung Fu Chaos, the Dino stage was my favourite
subbed! I love it when the og xbox get some love. I really need to drop another xbox focused video
Thanks for the sub!
6:47 man I wish Xbox was still doing backwards compatibility I never got the chance to play this game
Huge collector and fan of the og Xbox. Started collecting a couple of years ago since owning originally in 2002.
That’s awesome! What would you say is the crowning jewel of your collection?

I wish Kung Fu Chaos would get a rerelease similar to Phantom Dust. I loved this game and I think it would be a great game to show my kids.
Otogi’s character looks an awful lot like the Blasphemous leading character
oh blasphemous 100% stole it
Original Xbox was the best.
I'm still holding out for an Otogi 3
Finally a list with new games. Refreshing!
Crimson Skies. For sure. Still stuck on og Xbox I believe
Alter Echo is a really weird game, which nobody seems to talk about, and as far as i know it was only on the big green box.
That one got a PS2 release as well but it is an interesting release for sure.
Nice choice! Can't wait for part 2
Good vid subbed
