Oh my, I missed this one. Nat King Cole is my all time favorite singer. He was my father's favorite and I have many happy memories listening to him and singing along with my Dad. This generation is also heavily invested in ensuring equal rights for women and gender equality. Perhaps more women were offered seats on the bus many decades ago, but domestic violence toward women was higher too. I think on the surface it appears that women were treated better or "courted" more in the mid 20th century, but I'd bet dollars to donuts that if you polled women in public today, a strong majority would say that women have it better here in 2020.

I loved “ My True Carrie Love” and “That Sunday That Summer” those Nat King Cole songs came out when I was a teen. I remember sitting on a DSR (Detroit Street Ryders)bus, heading home from downtown Detroit on a cold winter day in February with my transistor radio and hearing that Nat King Cole died. I cried.
Song is just a classic. I remember when I was a little girl listening to it...my dad had the album and we would put it on the turntable and listen for hours.

Nat King Cole had the smoothest voice, he was one of my faves.
One of the best. Sooo smooth. My mom sang one of his songs to my dad every night. They were married 68 years and died 3 months apart. We played that song at their funerals. The song was “I love you for sentimental reasons. Might check that one out
