20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride is located in Mysterious Island at Tokyo DisneySea right next to Journey to the Center of the Earth ride.

小学生にもなってない頃初めて乗って、ホントに水の中に居るもんだと思って怖かったなぁ〜
私ガイドさん付きで乗ったんですけどギャン泣きしてガイドさんにずっとくっついてました。
最近行ってないからよく覚えてないけど、これ実際乗ったらバカ暗いよねw

@@user-rf5dh1pt8w それもあると思うけど、ミステリアスアイランドのアトラクションとエリア自体がジュール・ヴェルヌの小説が元になってる訳だし、海底2万マイルもジュール氏の小説が元になってるからなくなる可能性はまず低いと思う

When I rode this for the first time, I completely thought the ride went under the water for real.

I thought it went under water too. Obviously I didn't think it went very far but I thought it was similar to the one that used to be at disneyland - just barely in the water.
Its not underwater bcoz if its underwater how do they have lights and fire

That was such a cool ride! Disneyland and WDW need some rides like this!
+Tea Time Disneyland used to have this ride from 1959-1998, then it was closed and stayed empty over a decade, and now it's a Finding Nemo Sub ride. WDW even had the same ride as this, but was shut down in 1994, now the Little Mermaid ride stands where this attraction used to be

999haunted This is a dry ride, the water is just window effects. WDW is the only one that had a 20k ride at some point. but it was a submarine ride similar to the subs in Disneyland. Disneyland had a walk through 20k attraction I believe, but it didn't last very long.

Philip Darren Ellwell I live in Japan, been on this ride about 20 or so times. It is underwater. Have once had a breakdown on it, we werent able to do an in show exit because it submerges the subs in water. Actually go on the ride yourself and you will know its underwater, because this whole part of Disneyland is based on water. The other half if original Disneyland.

Finding Nemo looks like a cheap carnival ride compared to this.

20k opened 5 years before Finding Nemo at DL.
Max Mills it is. Disneyland is an utter shit pile compared to all other Disney parks. Depresses the hell out of me.
I found WDW to be less interesting than DL. It was too big.
But then the DL of old was really something to see.
Keep in mind this is a dark ride, while on Finding Nemo you're actually underwater.

They should make this ride in the Disney in America but themed like Atlantis the lost empire
The Atlantis shown here with those awesome mermaid creatures already TEN TIMES BETTER then the lame Lost Empire though. But i wouldn't mind if Disney does decide in the possible future to attempt a more story driven and less action second crack at a "explorers in Atlantis" adventure ether through animation or a new theme park attraction. Heck if someone just decided to entirely rewrite Lost Empire into a awesome reboot that also drops alot of the film's mistakes and has just a stronger character focus. Plus it would make a cool ride but right now wishful thinking for now
disneylandw I honestly don't care about bad writing, acting, pacing, or any of that stuff in movies. As long as I had fun watching a movie then that's all it takes for a movie to be good in my book 😋
True but still again Atlantis featured at Tokyo Disney Sea on this ride is still much more imaginative then one of the film(even the crystals they have are way more interesting and mysterious for once).
I can't deny the film has it's fans but I would still like to see how IF any new writers at Disney would reboot it someday and do it in a way that would get people really excited for it as well.
Am glad you enjoy it but you can't deny the somewhat infamous reputation it seems to have had over the years.
Maybe that's part of the charm of it?

jealous WDW doesn't have a version of this ride, seems like a no brainer to me for them to add something similar like this to Animal Kingdom !!!
+AMagicProduction The inspiration for this ride (also called 20k Leagues) was in WDW until the mid-90's. It was based on the sub ride at DL that became todays' Little Nemo. It was a large lagoon with replicas of the nautilus riding around on tracks. It was very expensive to maintain. Today The Mine Car ride is currently in its place.
This version seems considerably cheaper to maintain and looks really cool. I could really see it fitting in at AK. Great idea!
+skaluv good point, I realize the subs were a headache to maintain but this version seems more efficient and seems like a better experience with much more detail, Animal Kingdom could really use a nice dark ride like this and fits their theme perfectly
Definitely agree. I used to love those subs but it was very desolate. This one looks like all dry with a bublble window to watch through and a lot more going on.
My biggest regret is not going to Tokyo Disney when I was in Tokyo.
+AMagicProduction Journey to the Center of the Earth would be cool for AK too, give that place some more "fantasy" animals.
+MadArtisanLabs they were planning to have a fantasy area but then decided on camp Minnie-Mickey which is now being replaced by avatar

O-M-G! I have been on this ride a dozen times over two trips to Japan, but I have never "seen" it anything like this! This video shows it better than you see it in real life, which is way too dark. It is an absolute revelation, proving that this is actually one of the greatest dark rides of all time. Tokyo Disney Resort rules.

Pretty neat for a waterless ride. I was thinking I wouldn't be surprised if one day all the windows were tv screens and the ride simulated movement...then they made the Harry Potter train.

Disneyland is just as charming and impressive as any Disney park ; I've been there once, you have Indiana Jones, remember? We can all have our unique rides and still enjoy Disney's high quality experiences.

I have a question for those who have been to disneyland tokyo and tokyo disney sea! what rides would you recommend to avoid for those with motion sickness? for reference, i can do indiana jones and big thunder, but not quite incredicoaster, star tours and things that spin. Thanks in advance!
there's this new nemo ride at disneysea that uses a giant screen and I do not recommend that if you get motion sick easily.

Japan's Tomorrow Land seems to have a lot of inspiration from Jules Verne; I see a lot of steam punk themes on this ride and Journey to the Center of the Earth.
This isn't a ride in Tomorrow Land, but a ride at Tokio Disney Sea
Steampunk is very popular in Japan.
It's not tomorrowland this is located at Mysterious Island a theme port at Disney sea
