    It’s amazing to me that Disney’s Imagineers were able to build this masterpiece of a ride halfway around the world and still have it be flawless. The only rides out there that are better than it are nearly 2 decades newer!

    Before I went to Japan in 2016, I watched one of your POV's of this ride and pumped myself up. I'd never been so amped to ride a ride. And on the final day in Japan, my dad agreed to do Disney, so we chose Tokyo DisneySea. Get into the park and head straight for Journey to the Center of the Earth only to learn that it was closed that day (of course it re-opened the next day when we left lol). It was quite a gut punch. Tokyo DisneySea was absolutely incredible, but it still stings years later that we didn't get to ride this. This is still No. 1 on my ride list, so I will make it back there one day.

      The theming on the queue and ride is incredible, but for what it’s worth, between this, radiator springs racers, and test track, I’d rank this third in terms of the actual ride. It’s still one of the best rides in the world, but I think the other two have an edge. Disney Sea is just incredible though. I really want to get back to Tokyo and the Tokyo Disney Resort to see more of it.

    • @bruh-qr9tn
      @bruh-qr9tn ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@donkeyentertain i definitely think this rides better than the other two, that drop really adds smth different in my opinion

    • @donkeyentertain
      @donkeyentertain ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bruh-qr9tn Yeah the upward helix and drop on this ride are awesome. The drop seemed a lot steeper on the ride than it looks. Plus like the rest of Disney Sea, the animatronics were all really good and working perfectly.
      I just think the outdoor section of test track and radiator springs racers are a bit longer and better. Test track is probably my favorite of the three because of the long and fast outdoor section, despite being weaker in other areas. I think this ride has by far the best queue of the three though, and the area of the park it’s in is probably the best area of any theme park (only competition really being other lands at Disney Sea).

    Until Disneyland in Anaheim gets this Jules Verne land, I’m never going back. Not enough new stuff to justify the prices.

    I’m not a big fan of big or scary rides and I want to know how this ride is, from 1-10 I’ll get on the cars ride at California, and I’ll do the mummy ride from universal

      Chill and whimsical at the beginning, darker and more frightening near the middle, with a fast finale (not too extreme, but appropriate for the ride). Last drop is less of a "true" drop because you don't gain speed on it, so you get more of a floater moment than a drop.

      It's like a dry version of Splash Mountain. It's a calm slow ride at first but then it has a huge drop near the end.

    I might be wrong but was the same alien reimagined from Alien encounters??

    • @A_A610
      @A_A610 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The ride opened in 2001 while Alien Encounter was still in operation. While the final design of the monster definitely took some inspiration from Alien Encounter's alien (especially in comparison to early concept art), they aren't the same figures.

    Are these… repurposed Rocket Rods?

    • @idk-zt8rx
      @idk-zt8rx 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I'm pretty sure they're not. They just have a similar design. This ride uses vehicles that use lap bars instead of shoulder restraints like rocket rods and are designed to look like the nautilus

    Great. Tokyo gets the best rides AND the best Disney collectables, and in the US? We get Tiana's Bayou Adventure (ugh), and all the crappy Disney merchandise that the rest of the world doesn't want. I so want to visit Tokyo, but I never will because of the language barrier (I can't speak Japanese). So I'll never visit all those real ramen shops, all the otaku merchandise stores, and their crazy variety of vending machines found nowhere else in the world. Japan is truly blessed. Those who can go there, please enjoy the experience.

      I've been to Japan and we were able to manage even with the language barrier. It was just a minor issue really. The people are really nice and we managed to communicate with hand gestures

    Don’t need IP to build good rides

      It is an IP. The name of the attraction is the IP. Non IP is Mystic Manor, Grizzly Gulch.
