I think it's meant to be more of a dark fairytale than a horror movie.

I think that's why I enjoyed this movies honestly... I dont normally enjoy Horry films, usually the same old boring stuff
To be honest, Lily did not grow up normal at all. Victoria had some normal socialization, but Lily was a 2-year-old. I'm surprised she survived alone at all. It was kind of weird at the end, but as you said, Lily wanted that and didn't know anything else because MAMA was everything to her.
More like 1, but yahh I mean she only had her and her sis but at least she got to stay with mama however heartbreaking it is otherwise
Lilly was never going to be happy with them, she grew up with mama, she loves mama and she wanted to leave so yes, it was a happy ending for all of them
I completely agree the little one was lost. She grew up with mama so nothing was going to change that. At least they are both happy and victoria can be somewhat normal
Mama will certainly traumatize even after you’ve finished watching the whole film. May God bless you always, Mike. Just know we will support you all

I saw Mama in theaters and it wasn’t fun at all!!! All I can say is the 2 men who sat behind me had a great time laughing at arms flailing at every jump scare 😑

I think mama’s a metaphor for trauma. The eldest was able to move on from her and live a somewhat normal life. But the youngest couldn’t handle it and went back to the trauma she grew up with
The reaction time and personalities of those two girls when he first meets them is EXACTLY why I didn't want to bring home a barn cat. I do love this movie though. Thanks for the reaction Mike!

I cried so hard when I watched this 😭 It might be a horror movie but it's so beautiful. I definitely had nightmares from that scene of Mama underneath Annabel's bed though 😂
Hard to believe that "MAMA" is portrayed by a real person, not just CGI. Turns out he plays a bunch of Hollywood monsters.
really wish they held back on some of the CGI, the photos of him in the makeup look pretty good

I saw Mama in theaters with a full crowd of laughter, it was fun, had good scares but was also hilarious when you have the few people jumping out of their skin
I personally really liked the movie first time I watched it, it made me cry a lot, it didn't really scare me though. You should definitely watch Rec, it's a Spanish found footage horror film, that's the movie that inspired Quarantine.
One of my all time favorites! Criminally underrated. Can't wait to check out your reaction to it.

The movie is alright. It's kinda goofy and weird but I enjoy it. Also the actor who played mama (is mixed with cgi and the actor) his name Javier Botet. He has Marfan syndrome. Basically he is very tall, thin and has very long limbs and fingers and can move his body so weird that makes him capable of playing monsters.

I saw mama when I was in elementary school and it used to give me such bad nightmares. One time me and my cousins were having a sleepover and I had a nightmare about mama and my cousin tried to wake me up because I was talking in my sleep saying mama no and I punched her in the face 🫢

And what made it better, we watched it as the sun was setting, and my niece and nephew had just been visiting. So when the screen cut to black, there were child handprints all over the TV.
