Grow the beard out. The more years you spend growing it out and cutting it the better it gets. A beard is almost like a bonsai tree. Over the years it'll start growing better and you can hone it through trimming.

I don't think this is a good remake, because Evil Dead isn't intended to be serious and depressing (plus this is not canon so it doesn't count for anything). Evil Dead franchise are supposed to bring smile to our face through bloodstorm and viscera, not this grim, depressing fan fiction. When you look at it, it's like a crossover between Evil Dead and random CW characters 😂😂😂

Evil Dead 2013 might just be the most underrated horror movie of all time, since it has to always live up to the original. And while the original movies are very iconic, I do think the 2013 version is better made and not just because they had more modern equipment and more money, but from a filmmaking standpoint in general, although we have to give credit to the originals, since a lot of what is done here has been taking from the originals (the camera that quickly flies through the woods and stuff like that).
But man, the effects in this, the cinematography, the sound effects, the score. It's all top notch, and IMO this movie should get more recognition.

Whole video, 100% appropriate reaction to this movie, imo. A lot of remakes (ESPECIALLY the newer ones) piss me off, but they KILLED it with this one. Tone is TOTALLY different because they took away all the Sam Raimi campiness and focused COMPLETELY on the horror aspect. Yet, they did the original trilogy justice; making it something completely different while somehow simultaneously a perfect homage. You can really tell that the goal wasn't to create some cash grab based on an already established franchise. Instead, you can tell that everyone involved set out to (first and foremost) make an excellent horror film while introducing the magic that is Evil Dead to a new generation.

I love watching someone’s reaction to this without knowledge of the original trilogy.
Because this is kinda what Raimi intended for the original to be. A straight horror, but in his words they were broke and inexperienced. So him producing this, don’t quote me. Is nice for him to be able to make this how he wanted it. After having polished his craft.
This is fun a fun universe.

It's the only time in my life I've had to pause a movie so someone could go get some fresh air. He's not opposed to horror, but he was pale white and said he felt sick and needed a breather haha.
    GREAT remake.

Just a little note, what Mia is addicted to and what she dumped out is heroin, not cocaine. You wouldn't need to detox from cocaine withdrawal, opiate withdrawal makes people feel extremely ill.

This movie was unfortunately and unfairly bashed by fans of the original, because horror fans are dumb and have this "classics are untouchable" mentality that is absolutely asinine. This movie was legitimately scary, and would have fared much better if it didn't have the burden of bearing the "Evil Dead" title. It absolutely stands on it's own two feet, and is a worthwhile and valuable film in it's own right. I absolutely love it, and it's probably one of my favorite horror films of all time. It makes me happy to know that it's finally getting the love it deserves all these years later, because is scared the goddamn piss out of me the first time I saw it.

Great reaction, as far as remakes go this is brilliant. This film is so brutal, with superb effects in sound and vision. The making of the Documentary on the DVD is good too. Very talented actors.

Evil Dead franchise is top level especially since it was always low budget. Sam Raimi set the bar for whats possible even when you have to pinch pennies. The remake brought it all full circle in the best way. easily one of the best remakes ever done imo.

One more thing I will say is I do love Bruce Campbell in the original three film franchise The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and Army Of Darkness. But Fede and the Raimi brothers really brought this one to life. I saw this 5 times in theaters all in the same day. Right when it was done I'd go pay to see it again and did that 4 times in the same night.

I pretty much exclusively watch horrors, I've never watched the original evil dead but this is my favorite horror ever and I've watched it countless times. The creepiness makes your skin crawl.. the scene where she is fully mutated and sticks her head out the basement is one of the most unsettling scenes in any film. anyone who hasn't watched this already please do!!

Awesome remake! I suggested this remake to someone who had just reacted to the original, which was truly terrifying in its day, and boy howdy did the purists come after me in the comments. Sure, this remake veers from the original formula, but it's still an excellent horror film! Hate this did so poorly at the box office as I really wanted an "Evil Dead II" remake as well.
