The large water bottle sides are unique to most other high end bags. Raised bottoms. Reinforced. Super water resistant. Sturdy. Necessary magnets. Convenient hidden pockets. This might be perfect. We shall see. Good job LTT.
Except there's tons of other backpacks on the market for cheaper under $60 that have more storage contained bigger laptops and more Tech so not a very good deal way overpriced because it's a TH-cam product
As he starts to research... This is not overpriced. For example, the base of this bag alone. There isn't 1 backpack manufacturer, worth its salt, that makes a bag with that kind of base under $200. It's not a TH-cam product necessarily, it's a product from someone on TH-cam.
@@nicholas4839It's not about the size, but what you can do with it. All those larger backpacks are much more flimsy, have less compartments, use cheap materials, but more often than not it's all three of the above.

Yeah… I even tried to click on the button on my TV. But it asked me to open my Android TH-cam app… but I use ReVanced… so I tried in private mode on Brave… disabled Brave shield… then did it on normal tab without Brave Shield and without uBlock Origin… finally worked xD
I like the airtag location change. I always find that the airtag in my LTT backpack tends to fall out a lot, and this new location in the commuter seems a bit more secure
@@ElliottFenton I actually super glued a small 3-4mm wide piece of black Velcro to the AirTag area of the regular backpack to make it a closable space for the same reason. AirTags be slippery! lol.

I'm Colombian and I never bought the original backpack because anything I buy for more than $200 (including shipping) abroad the government adds a 16% tax on the total. As soon as I saw at the WAN Show that the cost was $150 I knew I would buy it instantly (and the discount basically pays for shipping so I couldn't be happier)
My LTT backpack has come with me on trips to North Carolina, Texas, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, Washington, California, Utah, Colorado, Missouri, Washington DC, and Oklahoma. It's survived two years of College in the US Midwest, so rain, snow, and 100+ degrees of heat. It has carried two laptops, an iPad, headphones, 4 days of clothes, toiletries, and so many other things. It's been an awesome travel and school bag.

I have found that my big one is actually more comfortable than my Timbuk2 Authority bag which is about comparable to this one but I really missed the smaller size on tighter airplanes. I have had to really crush in the big LTT one to get it to fit on more than a few occasions. So I'm really excited for this.
I've had the original since launch. It fits so much its been my go to for big trips. But because it was so much nicer than other bags i had it became my default for everything. Already ordered, excited to have something more tailored to everyday use. As a guy who does photography often as well, that side pocket and my tripod are going to become best of friends.

I like the minimalist design of the backpack, but I wish the inner color was light gray instead of orange. But it's logo/branding, so it's understandable. Cool backpack tho.
I would love it it came in different colors. I know they went with a bright color not just for branding, but for contrast, but they certainly picked orange in particular for the branding - a bright blue, red, pink, green, or purple would also have good contrast. It's probably a huge expense to make multiple color options though. I don't know if the sales volume could justify it.
@@Lord_zeel I get that it's for the contrast, that's why I suggested light gray as that's what most minimalist designed backpacks do. They might be able to do other colors if the demand is high enough since it's limited releases anyways.

Agreed, light grey would fit the minimalist theme better. The outside is so sleek, compared to the bright orange that stands out. It's understandable though, as it'll make spotting objects inside very easy.
i love how its like made to actually be usefull. and its also like bringing a bunch of people together asking them what would you love to see in a backpack and just make it happen just amasing. nerding about features and all the small details love it!
This is honestly a great bag! I LOVE my Synapse 25 and will probably never get rid of it, but this looks like a great daily alternative. The best feature is that it stands on its own. Why on earth is that such a rare thing? I know it CAN make the bag more bulky, but it's easily a great trade-off when taking it places where you don't want it falling over. Which, for me is everywhere. lol
I received my Commuter Backpack yesterday and I moved all of my work stuff into the bag. We use 15.6 inch class laptops at work and this bag holds it perfectly. It holds my iFixit kit and now I’m going to order the LTT screwdriver. Today at work everyone was like that’s a small bag and then I put it down and opened it showing all of my gear in it. Not in the market for a backpack right now since I've been happy with my current one for years. But you really can't argue with how well thought out this bag is, as long as the materials hold up to their claims of durability and quality this would be a great option.
I was in wave 1 of the screw driver and now I'm in wave 1 of the commuter bag. Almost got the LTT backpack when it launched but it's just way to big for my needs, really looking forward to the commuter!
Just purchased. I typically dont buy TH-camr stuff, but needed a new bag and this looks pretty decent for the amount of work travel I do, so it will come around the globe with me. My current bag is a Timbuk2 which has started falling apart after 2 years. One disappointment, from one Canadian to another, I need to buy in USD, but c’est la vie. First trip will be January 13th, so we’ll see how it performs!
Love Linus and his products but going to wait to make sure there are no issues in the initial production run (like the full-size backpack’s carabiner and double bottom layer issues). Very excited to pick one up though.
Personally, I would love to see a messenger bag version of something like this. I'm not a fan of backpacks personally and much prefer using a messenger bag for work and travel instead.
Yeah, I am the same, I stopped using a backpack in favor of crossbody and messenger bags. You have crossbody bags for a small travel bag and messengers for if you need something bigger. They are more secure for travel since you can wear them in the front and how they close and I just find them more comfortable to wear. The only downside is that messenger bags are kinda a pain in the ass on a bicycle until you learn how to wear them while riding. It helps that a nice messenger bag also just looks much better and more professional while also being significantly cheaper. That likely is the problem, I just don't think LTT can compete with the messenger bags on the market since there are so many good low priced ones since the market tends to be very selective, the low quality ones just kinda die. Backpacks tend to have a lot of really low quality bags saturating the market due to students using them that make it hard to find good ones and the ones that are decent tend to be very camping or military looking so finding good high quality ones that look acceptable for a working professional is actually pretty difficult.
I need the width of the original LTT bag. I use it EVERYWHERE despite it often being too large. My main complaint is that my bag didn’t get the carabiner zips or the double bottom. I find that the bag struggles to keep it shapes sometimes and the sun glass holder squishes the glasses more that I would like. I keep all my binders and books in the front and a binder, water bottle, and snacks in the back. I have got multiple college books in it and have gotten the bag to weight over 34 pounds yet it remains comfortable to wear. I love sliding my phone in the power bank pocket. I use the sun glass holder for small snacks. I have playing cards, markers, pens, mints, and other things in the front zipper. Truly a great bag.
Just got mine yesterday, Loaded it up with literally everything I’ve had in my wave 1 OG backpack, and still had room to spare. Also I had to come back and refer to this video to find the AirTag pocket because I couldn’t remember where it was haha. It seems just as quality as my original backpack, and that is still in perfect condition two and a half years later.
I still love my LV reverse monogram kislux clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
$120 is such a competitive price for a backpack of this quality. The regular price of $150 isn't bad either. I'm honestly kind of shocked they could get it down that low
Honestly yeah. Given the features and assuming the same quality as the previous LTT backpack this seems like something you'd get for $200 from a specialty brand. Sure you can find cheaper backpacks with similar features but the catch with those is always poor durability of the stitches, straps, and the materials (the rubberized finishes on cheap backpacks ALWAYS starts peeling off after a couple months of use). This is super competitive as long as you live somewhere where the shipping cost isn't crazy (RIP EU).
Depends where you are from, with taxes and shipping to Poland it's around 180$, you can get a name brand from dell/HP for less the half (80$)which Is also a good deal, I would buy it but for more like 120allin not 180
I imagine they did a giant bulk order and is making up margins that way. Stuff like this requires a lot of extra steps during construction of it. Which is very costly. Generally you want as few steps as possible if u want profits.
Really excited for it to arrive. Finally going back to finish school in February and was hoping to make it with the commuter on my back. One little note for the future I guess, I'd rather have the Airtag pocket instructions on a piece paper coming *in the backpack* rather than in a public video.

I'm the kind of person who carries anything and everything I could need in my bag, so I'll have to bite the bullet and get the original LTT backpack once I can get up the courage to spend that much money on a bag. Logically, I know it'd be worth it for me. It's just actually DOING it is the issue. I don't like spending money on myself.

Did you read the newsletter from the coal miners backpack? I know stuff will breakdown but it is interesting to see what a quality bag can take and keep working as designed. I work construction outdoors and it's always so hard to find gear that lasts.
How would truck driving be hard for a backpack? What else would the backpack be exposed to except being lugged between a sleeper cab and motels/gas stations?

Amazing value! I've waited ages for something like this and not disappointed. Now the only bag I'm left wanting is a mini one for travelling, not too tiny but will fit in a usual 'personal item' restriction along with a carry on suitcase on most airlines. Thanks Creator Warehouse team!

3:50 if concerned about plastic packaging, you might consider post delivery use cases, like if that air bag could just be a large zip lock bag that the end user can use after receiving the backpack Problem is that it will probably increase the cost too much, or be unreliable enough during shipping that its not worth it, maybe something like food packaging that has a tearable seal that initially holds the air in, but then a ziplock that can be re-sealed after that semi perforated flap has been ripped away

For the record, the sunglasses pouch itself may not scratch your sunglasses, but if you load the bag up and it presses into the pouch your sunglasses temple tips(technical term for the part that sits on your ears) may get presses into the lenses themselves which will indeed scratch them. Found this out a little late for my sake but yah. I now just use that on my OG bag for random things that I want easy access to.
I hope you guys do a messenger bag next. With quick adjust straps, stabilizer straps, and box carrying straps. Something like the LBB Echelon but more polished and tech focused.
Purchased, the discount made all the difference for me, I'm sure it's worth the retail offering don't get me wrong, but my local currency is so weak, for perspective, the original bag I wanted to buy near launch, would've been $500, this one was only $267 at today's exchange rate, with tax and shipping, so if I didn't purchase now I don't know if I ever would, as the currency is getting worse. Not sure how you came up with £180. With the discount, shipping, and taxes it comes up to $174 (£139.20 at the current exchange rate). It's just over the £135 allowance, so if HMRC decide not to give it a free pass there may be an additional $2.90 (£2.78) duty fee - still well under £180.

You're right, I did forget that obnoxious "handling fee" but that only applies if it's over £135 and you have to deal with HMRC. Which may be the case for the commuter one, just about, unfortunately. But still far from £180. It is pricey, though, I agree. Though a lot of the good packs are quite expensive these days :(

I wanted the first bag but talked myself out of it based on price and it being too big for what I wanted. This looks perfect. Im a tall man. Ive been daily driving a hiking bag as my bag of choice for 5 years. The taller form factor with waist strap goes a long way to maintain comfortablilty during long days. I'd strongly consider buying a bag like that if it was designed by the LTT team. Also Commuter Bag looks rad. Great job.

I've been using my old Adidas backpack for like 13 years or so and it's falling apart at the seams quite literally. I bought the OG LTT backpack for work, and its traveled the world with me. Best bag ive ever owned, and when the carabiners broke they sent out titanium zipper pulls no problem. If that bag is anything to say for the quality, get this new bag.
Own the original bag probably little excessive for my everyday needs but the space comes in handy when needed very comfortable and dam the build quality besides the carabiner problem its been stuffed and ripped out of a locker for almost everyday for two years still looks brand new dont need the new one but definitely getting it. something a little smaller but has pretty much everything i need the discount helped as well

If this was only one year earlier, I would have bought this ASAP: When you first announced you were working on a backpack, I was already thinking about getting a new one. I waited and waited for the commuter sized version but in the end it became time to replace my old one, and I'm very happy with the Thule Aion 28 (locally Swedish yay) I got! This looks like the best option for a 20L backpack though.
Exactly! I use a flipgo 16 (slightly smaller than 16" mbp) and was waiting to find out that pocket size and if the waterbottle holders fit my 40oz. Done and ordered.
This is an instant purchase for me. I LOVE the original. It's my go to bag that goes with me everywhere. I did find it to be a bit bulky in certain situations though which is probably the only nitpick I could give it (maybe besides also wanting an external water bottle holder which this also solves!). I've been waiting a smaller version for a while now for day to day use while the original will be packed with everything I need for my job. Super excited to get this!

The layout of this one makes far more sense to me than the original. And the size is much better too. I don't know anyone that daily carries a 17" laptop. Most people have 13 to 15. If my current bag ever fails, I'll consider this one. Although, many brands at this price offer a good warranty so, again still seems high for a warrantyless bag. Just my opinion. If a product isn't worth a warranty, that says the manufacturer doesn't have confidence it will last long enough to out live a warranty.

Just bought it, ill wait the required month before it hits me cause im australian and thats aussie tax for you BUT what there were reasons as to why I bought it ASAP. 1. Its the same quality construction as their first bag which ive absolutely belted for a year now and its still great. 2. Smaller for those comutes that dont need heaps of space. 3. The 2 bottleholders on the outside (GAME CHANGER) especially for umbrellas.
I got a new commuter backpack not too long ago and I can confirm that 18 litres is the perfect size. Wish mine had some of the extra spaces this one has but I paid only $54 CAD when Herschel put their old Tech Daypack on clearance so I can’t complain too much.

Saw a comment that I quite agree with. Does this fit under an airplane seat? The original was a "carry-on" size for overhead. But this one, the comment says, is 2" too big for the "personal item". Granted I've never been questioned when using a backpack. But it only takes one time and you're forced to shell out $80+ to gate check.
The original is personal item size. I have flown with it a bunch of times now (including air Canada) and it goes under the seat with no issue. It is exactly the size of the underseat. Since this is smaller it should not be an issue other than maybe if you have a water bottle on the outside.
@@zanzabar4ky7 Underseat size is the size that the airline says should be underseat. Yes it could fit underseat, but if it does not fit underseat sizer, bag still could get gate checked. The gate agent very much could do that, especially if they are paid per gate check. The original one is not personal item sized. Not to provided measurements, Air Canada "personal item adheres to the following dimensions: 33 cm (13 in) in height, 16 cm (6 in) in depth, and 43 cm (17 in) in width."
Hard to say, but I recently flew United with a backpack that's much larger than this one and it fit under the seat - it was tight, but it worked. But United didn't measure our bags, so they very well might have said no if they were doing that. This backpack on the other hand looks like it should fit just fine. I'm curious how other airlines handle soft shell items like this (I don't fly much) because even if it was 2" "too big" if you don't stuff it super full I would think it would still squeeze into the measuring thing.
@ is the size different if you depart in Canada? In the US including my air Canada flight to Canada last fall I had to put the og backpack in the test box. I took it and a roller carry-on and had no issues. I did see other people with backpacking gear have to gate check.
I've been having a lot of trouble with my current backpack sliding off my shoulders constantly no matter how I adjust it. It's a cheap backpack and gets the job done but honestly the contoured straps on this one are kinda what sold me. It's still a little pricy even with the discount for my use case (thanks CAD) but the amount of features it has seems enough to justify going outside 'cheap' territory for me.
Any shot we're getting a messenger bag that fits a 16" Macbook Pro, maybe a tablet pocket big enough for a 12.9" iPad Pro, next? I think there's definitely room for improvement in that space, especially around the straps that usually break in the bit that allows it to spin. Or, y'know, alternatively, selling replacement straps.

@@LukasTheBlueIt's because the vast majority of LTT sales are abroad; with a heavy concentration in the States; so, between them and the rest of the world's Dollar-centricism, and Shopify's hefty extra fees to enable accepting payments in more than 1 currency? No brainer for them to accept USD instead. ESPECIALLY with how volatile our Canadian dollar's been lately.
Except that they have to then convert USD into CAD in order to pay employees... They should prefer CAD when possible. Other currencies I understand. But sell directly without Shopify, there are plenty CAD options available that don't cost a ton. Considering how many potential customers they are losing it would likely be worth it!

I like the airtag location change. I always find that the airtag in my LTT backpack tends to fall out a lot, and this new location in the commuter seems a bit more secure
@@ElliottFenton I actually super glued a small 3-4mm wide piece of black Velcro to the AirTag area of the regular backpack to make it a closable space for the same reason. AirTags be slippery! lol.

My LTT backpack has come with me on trips to North Carolina, Texas, Oregon, New York, New Jersey, Washington, California, Utah, Colorado, Missouri, Washington DC, and Oklahoma. It's survived two years of College in the US Midwest, so rain, snow, and 100+ degrees of heat. It has carried two laptops, an iPad, headphones, 4 days of clothes, toiletries, and so many other things. It's been an awesome travel and school bag.

I have found that my big one is actually more comfortable than my Timbuk2 Authority bag which is about comparable to this one but I really missed the smaller size on tighter airplanes. I have had to really crush in the big LTT one to get it to fit on more than a few occasions. So I'm really excited for this.

I like the minimalist design of the backpack, but I wish the inner color was light gray instead of orange. But it's logo/branding, so it's understandable. Cool backpack tho.
I would love it it came in different colors. I know they went with a bright color not just for branding, but for contrast, but they certainly picked orange in particular for the branding - a bright blue, red, pink, green, or purple would also have good contrast. It's probably a huge expense to make multiple color options though. I don't know if the sales volume could justify it.

Agreed, light grey would fit the minimalist theme better. The outside is so sleek, compared to the bright orange that stands out. It's understandable though, as it'll make spotting objects inside very easy.

This is honestly a great bag! I LOVE my Synapse 25 and will probably never get rid of it, but this looks like a great daily alternative. The best feature is that it stands on its own. Why on earth is that such a rare thing? I know it CAN make the bag more bulky, but it's easily a great trade-off when taking it places where you don't want it falling over. Which, for me is everywhere. lol
I received my Commuter Backpack yesterday and I moved all of my work stuff into the bag. We use 15.6 inch class laptops at work and this bag holds it perfectly. It holds my iFixit kit and now I’m going to order the LTT screwdriver. Today at work everyone was like that’s a small bag and then I put it down and opened it showing all of my gear in it. Just purchased. I typically dont buy TH-camr stuff, but needed a new bag and this looks pretty decent for the amount of work travel I do, so it will come around the globe with me. My current bag is a Timbuk2 which has started falling apart after 2 years. One disappointment, from one Canadian to another, I need to buy in USD, but c’est la vie. First trip will be January 13th, so we’ll see how it performs!

Personally, I would love to see a messenger bag version of something like this. I'm not a fan of backpacks personally and much prefer using a messenger bag for work and travel instead.

Yeah, I am the same, I stopped using a backpack in favor of crossbody and messenger bags. You have crossbody bags for a small travel bag and messengers for if you need something bigger. They are more secure for travel since you can wear them in the front and how they close and I just find them more comfortable to wear. The only downside is that messenger bags are kinda a pain in the ass on a bicycle until you learn how to wear them while riding.
It helps that a nice messenger bag also just looks much better and more professional while also being significantly cheaper. That likely is the problem, I just don't think LTT can compete with the messenger bags on the market since there are so many good low priced ones since the market tends to be very selective, the low quality ones just kinda die. Backpacks tend to have a lot of really low quality bags saturating the market due to students using them that make it hard to find good ones and the ones that are decent tend to be very camping or military looking so finding good high quality ones that look acceptable for a working professional is actually pretty difficult.

I need the width of the original LTT bag. I use it EVERYWHERE despite it often being too large. My main complaint is that my bag didn’t get the carabiner zips or the double bottom. I find that the bag struggles to keep it shapes sometimes and the sun glass holder squishes the glasses more that I would like.
I keep all my binders and books in the front and a binder, water bottle, and snacks in the back.
I have got multiple college books in it and have gotten the bag to weight over 34 pounds yet it remains comfortable to wear.
I love sliding my phone in the power bank pocket. I use the sun glass holder for small snacks. I have playing cards, markers, pens, mints, and other things in the front zipper. Truly a great bag.

Just got mine yesterday, Loaded it up with literally everything I’ve had in my wave 1 OG backpack, and still had room to spare. Also I had to come back and refer to this video to find the AirTag pocket because I couldn’t remember where it was haha. I still love my LV reverse monogram kislux clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's already a classic.
$120 is such a competitive price for a backpack of this quality. The regular price of $150 isn't bad either. I'm honestly kind of shocked they could get it down that low
Honestly yeah. Given the features and assuming the same quality as the previous LTT backpack this seems like something you'd get for $200 from a specialty brand. Sure you can find cheaper backpacks with similar features but the catch with those is always poor durability of the stitches, straps, and the materials (the rubberized finishes on cheap backpacks ALWAYS starts peeling off after a couple months of use). This is super competitive as long as you live somewhere where the shipping cost isn't crazy (RIP EU).
Depends where you are from, with taxes and shipping to Poland it's around 180$, you can get a name brand from dell/HP for less the half (80$)which Is also a good deal, I would buy it but for more like 120allin not 180

I imagine they did a giant bulk order and is making up margins that way. Stuff like this requires a lot of extra steps during construction of it. Which is very costly. Generally you want as few steps as possible if u want profits.

How would truck driving be hard for a backpack? What else would the backpack be exposed to except being lugged between a sleeper cab and motels/gas stations?

High contrast let's you see where you put your stuff. Another premium bag maker, Everki, uses almost the exact same color in a lot of their bags.
3:50 if concerned about plastic packaging, you might consider post delivery use cases, like if that air bag could just be a large zip lock bag that the end user can use after receiving the backpack
Problem is that it will probably increase the cost too much, or be unreliable enough during shipping that its not worth it, maybe something like food packaging that has a tearable seal that initially holds the air in, but then a ziplock that can be re-sealed after that semi perforated flap has been ripped away

For the record, the sunglasses pouch itself may not scratch your sunglasses, but if you load the bag up and it presses into the pouch your sunglasses temple tips(technical term for the part that sits on your ears) may get presses into the lenses themselves which will indeed scratch them. Found this out a little late for my sake but yah. I now just use that on my OG bag for random things that I want easy access to.

Purchased, the discount made all the difference for me, I'm sure it's worth the retail offering don't get me wrong, but my local currency is so weak, for perspective, the original bag I wanted to buy near launch, would've been $500, this one was only $267 at today's exchange rate, with tax and shipping, so if I didn't purchase now I don't know if I ever would, as the currency is getting worse. I also think postage on this product was very competitive, especially since it's express. Thank you for the launch discount, and thanks for making what I'm certain will be a great product.

Not sure how you came up with £180. With the discount, shipping, and taxes it comes up to $174 (£139.20 at the current exchange rate). It's just over the £135 allowance, so if HMRC decide not to give it a free pass there may be an additional $2.90 (£2.78) duty fee - still well under £180.

You're right, I did forget that obnoxious "handling fee" but that only applies if it's over £135 and you have to deal with HMRC. Which may be the case for the commuter one, just about, unfortunately. Im a tall man. Ive been daily driving a hiking bag as my bag of choice for 5 years. The taller form factor with waist strap goes a long way to maintain comfortablilty during long days. I'd strongly consider buying a bag like that if it was designed by the LTT team.

I bought the OG LTT backpack for work, and its traveled the world with me. Best bag ive ever owned, and when the carabiners broke they sent out titanium zipper pulls no problem. If that bag is anything to say for the quality, get this new bag.

If this was only one year earlier, I would have bought this ASAP: When you first announced you were working on a backpack, I was already thinking about getting a new one. I waited and waited for the commuter sized version but in the end it became time to replace my old one, and I'm very happy with the Thule Aion 28 (locally Swedish yay) I got! This looks like the best option for a 20L backpack though.

They say to disable VPN, but funny enough I was able to use TH-cam Shopping with my VPN to the US. Give it a shot, might work 🤷♂

The layout of this one makes far more sense to me than the original. And the size is much better too. I don't know anyone that daily carries a 17" laptop. Most people have 13 to 15. If my current bag ever fails, I'll consider this one. Although, many brands at this price offer a good warranty so, again still seems high for a warrantyless bag. Just my opinion. If a product isn't worth a warranty, that says the manufacturer doesn't have confidence it will last long enough to out live a warranty.

Just bought it, ill wait the required month before it hits me cause im australian and thats aussie tax for you BUT what there were reasons as to why I bought it ASAP.
1. Its the same quality construction as their first bag which ive absolutely belted for a year now and its still great.
2. Smaller for those comutes that dont need heaps of space.
3. The 2 bottleholders on the outside (GAME CHANGER) especially for umbrellas.

I got a new commuter backpack not too long ago and I can confirm that 18 litres is the perfect size. Wish mine had some of the extra spaces this one has but I paid only $54 CAD when Herschel put their old Tech Daypack on clearance so I can’t complain too much.
I've been waiting for a smaller ltt backpack and when I saw the discount I instantly ordered it. This will be my first LTT product I'm so excited for a well made backpack that will last me a while!

Bought it, at the discount it covers the shipping. :) Looks amazing and have been waiting for something like this for a few years. Also, I don't see LTT as merch anymore, I just like the attention to details and quality the products get and I'm more confident that my money is not wasted, more expensive then local for sure, but locally I never see specifically a bag like this. Or the screwdriver.
Saw a comment that I quite agree with. Does this fit under an airplane seat? The original was a "carry-on" size for overhead. But this one, the comment says, is 2" too big for the "personal item". Granted I've never been questioned when using a backpack. But it only takes one time and you're forced to shell out $80+ to gate check.
The original is personal item size. I have flown with it a bunch of times now (including air Canada) and it goes under the seat with no issue. It is exactly the size of the underseat. Since this is smaller it should not be an issue other than maybe if you have a water bottle on the outside.
@@zanzabar4ky7 Underseat size is the size that the airline says should be underseat. Yes it could fit underseat, but if it does not fit underseat sizer, bag still could get gate checked. The gate agent very much could do that, especially if they are paid per gate check.
The original one is not personal item sized. Not to provided measurements, Air Canada "personal item adheres to the following dimensions: 33 cm (13 in) in height, 16 cm (6 in) in depth, and 43 cm (17 in) in width."
The original fits under the seat
Hard to say, but I recently flew United with a backpack that's much larger than this one and it fit under the seat - it was tight, but it worked. But United didn't measure our bags, so they very well might have said no if they were doing that. This backpack on the other hand looks like it should fit just fine. I'm curious how other airlines handle soft shell items like this (I don't fly much) because even if it was 2" "too big" if you don't stuff it super full I would think it would still squeeze into the measuring thing.
@ is the size different if you depart in Canada? In the US including my air Canada flight to Canada last fall I had to put the og backpack in the test box. I took it and a roller carry-on and had no issues. I did see other people with backpacking gear have to gate check.
I've been having a lot of trouble with my current backpack sliding off my shoulders constantly no matter how I adjust it. It's a cheap backpack and gets the job done but honestly the contoured straps on this one are kinda what sold me. It's still a little pricy even with the discount for my use case (thanks CAD) but the amount of features it has seems enough to justify going outside 'cheap' territory for me.

Any shot we're getting a messenger bag that fits a 16" Macbook Pro, maybe a tablet pocket big enough for a 12.9" iPad Pro, next? I think there's definitely room for improvement in that space, especially around the straps that usually break in the bit that allows it to spin. Or, y'know, alternatively, selling replacement straps.
In my country, a 100 USD is a lot for a backpack, but it's a good price for a really good piece of backpack. I whish could have less than 10 USD shipping internationally
I live in Canada and my shipping costs are still $15 USD. I don't see why a Canadian would be paying in USD to a Canadian company... Everyone except the banks and credit card companies are being scammed by this...
@@LukasTheBlueIt's because the vast majority of LTT sales are abroad; with a heavy concentration in the States; so, between them and the rest of the world's Dollar-centricism, and Shopify's hefty extra fees to enable accepting payments in more than 1 currency? No brainer for them to accept USD instead. ESPECIALLY with how volatile our Canadian dollar's been lately.
Except that they have to then convert USD into CAD in order to pay employees...
They should prefer CAD when possible. Other currencies I understand. But sell directly without Shopify, there are plenty CAD options available that don't cost a ton. Considering how many potential customers they are losing it would likely be worth it!
