The irony is, that as "real" as he (and maybe everyone) still considers TV, he probably speaks to more people through his videos on a regular basis than will ever see that segment.
this is what got many of us addicted to linustechtips in 2008-2012. I was starting my first year of high school when this guy started making videos, and while I felt like I knew my way around building a PC pretty good there were quite a few differences and changes going on around that time that Linus helped further build my interest, and I'm now to a point where you can list any CPU/GPU/PSU/RAM model numbers, and I'll be like "oh yeah, the 800mhz kit from corsair back in the day.. DDR2, those were good kits to have back then!" to knowing every CPU's core count, GPU's VRAM and cuda core count, stupid little details.. wait, am I an undiagnosed autistic? I mean, I know damn near EVERY model number, it's specs, clock speeds... huh. Thanks, Linus! I've got a plethora of useless information now, and have built over 200 PC's in my life, repaired thousands, and I don't even work in the tech industry.. I work in automotive.
"Natural"...yeah just like animals who get taught by monkey see monkey do...animals don't ACTUALLY get everything from genetics but PRACTICE...Linus has 10+ years of experience being a talking head 🗣️ so I respect how far he has gotten since his first video
@@thethiefmaster Most of the intro, they basically go right to the backpack after saying who he is. And the part of adjusting/darkening the Xreal glasses when bad bunny wears them was out too. Probably a few other little things for timing/pacing and consistency. I'd say about 1/4 of what we see here was out basing it on time. 8min to a bit over 5.
@@RagnarokLoW Is that really any different than regular celebrities wearing their Prada or Dior dress which they are ambassadors for and get paid for?
Yeah, sorry Linus but that was bad 😭. Could have talked about what you reviewers do rather than advertising products. Edit: I guess I’m understanding now that, for general TV audience, this is the way to do it.
@@jivewighave to do the segment based on what the producers wanted- no general mainstream person watching a live nightly show would care and they'd switch it off. Thats TV folks. Quick Snappy Interesting NEXT AD SEGMENT rinse repeat. Only have 8mins has to be interesting to a broad audience. (Audience and Jimmy himself seemed switched off a bit when he got the laptop out before he showed the screen change and that was like 8 seconds of 'downtime' LOL)
Showing this type of stuff to regular folks blows their minds 🤣 I'd pay good money to watch them fumble around while Linus guides them along like a patient parent
They have time to discuss with the team at lmg ahead of computex, perhaps linus could take a stop on his way back to appear. This appearance was apparently done at short notice. I expect he'd be happy to return next year after ces, and companies will be tripping over themselves to have products for him to show off.
I’m super impressed he stuck to socks with sandals, tan cargo pants, and an LTT merch hoody. Classic Linus! At lest he got a hair cut though. Congrats on making the show Linus, well done.
The people that do hair and make up for everyone on the show did Linus' hair like a mom getting her little boy ready for school and put wayyyyyy too much make up on his face. 😕
I have a massive amount of appreciation for people like Linus who don’t shamefully hide their interests that they know might be judged, but openly express them for all to see. It’s so refreshing to see such a strong example of true humility and passion
@@abomiyeti7440 so does zuckerburg and elon musk. Both of which are not good people. Linus is not so different. You are seeing a lot of acting involved, it's not as genuine as you think.

And you might hate them both for all I know, but at least he doesn't have to kowtow to greedy investors and can do his creative thing without outside influence. And that's refreshing in a world full of private equity buying up everything and spitting them out as husks.
I’m reminded of that post from Linus at his high school reunion talking about how he’s a youtuber. “Do any of them know you are a famous TH-camr?” “uh... No... In the grand scheme of things I'm not terribly well known lol”
I love how Linus is so used leading the show that he instinctually shows the audience first and foremost, as well as speaking to the crowd every now and then :D
I don’t usually care for late night shows, but this was GOOD. The energy, the curiosity, the WOW… from Jimmy and Bad Bunny, and Linus’ presentation, all VERY, VERY GOOD.
You could tell they loved the glasses, especially BadBunny and especially the display ones. Laptop felt like them being polite. But it was nice to see Linus so excited, like in the older times when he was getting access and trying cool shit for the first time. He is the reason I bought a cooler master haf xm. Used that case for way too long as well.
I love how Linus feels a sense of accomplishment at making it on "real" TV, when he has undeniably been instrumental in disrupting and redefining what "real" TV is for so many of us. For me, Linus and crew are about as real as it gets! ❤🤘
To be completely fair, this is a video on youtube. Off course the youtuber is going to pull the most views. His audience and community are here already.
@maartensabbe3844 Yes, of course. It is also relevant that the tickets to this episode sold out and that is much more likely to be Bad Bunny than Linus. On the other hand, Bad Bunny's target demo is much more likely to be cord cutters who watch TH-cam. So you'd expect a fair number of them to check it out here if they were drawn to an appearance by him other than his music, which is why they are actually fans.
I mean it is a video on the platform Linus is most famous on. And where all of his fans are. Of course it's going to be heavily skewed. Using TH-cam views to support how famous TH-cam celebrities are is confirmation bias. I wonder how many people in the live audience or watching on TV were there for Linus VS bad bunny. If you put Linus in one of bad bunny's concerts, and then looked to see how many people bought a ticket to see bad bunny VS Linus, you could make the reverse argument that the internet is meaningless
All of that is true. The value of the TH-cam audience is also very important though. A typical Tonight Show episode gets about 1.2 million TV views in a 24 hour period (between live, DVR, and app viewing). This clip has 750K in the first 9 hours while many of Linus' is based fans are still at work/school. TH-cam does not have even the tiniest percentage of ad revenue. But they do have the eyeballs, particularly in the demographic advertisers care about. I am not at all suggesting that Linus is more popular than Bad Bunny, but he is getting way more views. The Tonight Show can't sell more tickets to see Bad Bunny in his natural medium than they have seats in the theater (and they did sell out of those). But they can get a lot of revenue from views on other platforms if the ad companies would start putting money where the eyeballs are.
@@maartensabbe3844 i'm not sure about this show but youtube is outshining traditional television frequently which is why we're seeing so many streamers and youtubers even more on traditional media
I'm 99% sure Linus wouldn't do it. A one off trip to Jimmy Fallon's studio is a vacation. A recurring segment is opportunity cost. Plus, finding some new, cool upcoming tech that isn't just bullcrap is not a regular thing. This stuff is shown off at trade shows, the biggest ones in the world, which don't come along all the time.
I’m hoping some kids out there who like technology got a kick out of this while watching with their parents. Always happy to see things like this on prime time to get to the people who might not normally see it!
Just like he said he would: started off nervous then fell into his element. He knew he only had so much time to show the products and he did a good job firing off the information and keeping the energy up, which is his job and he’s a pro.
It's fun to see Linus kinda out of his element. I kinda get the feeling he's like "Oh fuck, I'm back in the "I don't know anything of what's happening, where should I even look?" phase :D
Damn, Linus killed it; he felt right in his element. And Jimmy had that same "kid in a candy store" vibe he has whenever Reggie Fils-Aime used to come in with the latest Nintendo product. Honestly, these two have a great vibe match. Also, love the moment where Bad Bunny just snuck the Auras into his pocket. Don't know the guy, but that's some good comedic timing.
I'm glad they gave him a decent spot on the show, so many times you will get a moment like this and it winds up being just four or five minutes. He could have gone longer but it's great that they gave him as much time as they did
He’s actually really good at this wth, he could do a tech tv show honestly, bringing in big names and just blowing their minds with tech. Good stuff Linus !
He already does though. His channel brings in similar viewership and he uses great gear in the production. Mainstream TV is pretty dead imo anyway. There’s a reason most people are watching this clip on TH-cam vs tv. 😂

Last time he looked that nervous he looked like the kid in the picture that they showed.
Go back to the early EARLY videos... it's 100% the same imo
Thought the same, he's so lovely
Man, what a privilege for Jimmy Fallon to get to interview Linus Sebastian!

Linus saying waifu and expecting everyone to understand it and then trying to explain it while not sounding wierd is hailarious
This needs to be a regular segment. Linus smashed it!
Great to see you here SpawnPoint!

That's a great point. If he could bring CES to the Tonight Show every year, think about what it would do for Jimmy Fallon's career!
Yes! Like the zoo/animal personality that used to go on Connan O'Brien!

Not usually a Jimmy Fallon watcher, but gotta support someone in traditional media appreciating Linus. Appreciate you, Jimmy Fallon.

Literally who wouldnt be nervous? He kept his composure and this was the first time ive watched jimmy in months. Great stuff linus
Even though he was nervous, he still addressed the large audience a decent number of times. A lot of people don't engage with them except for their entrance (which I get). Kudos to him
@@stephen_b well his job is to talk directly to millions of people, i understand its easier to talk to a camera than an actual audience, but it makes sense why he does more than other celebrities since he talks to an audience for a living lol

he was kinda in his element though... (yes even the live crowds he has done multiple live shows at this point)

this is what got many of us addicted to linustechtips in 2008-2012.
This should be a recurring part in which he simply comes in and highlights random new and forthcoming technology. Linus is a natural;)
It's literally like Steve Irwin but none of the animals are animals 😅

He likely wouldn't because of the flights. But if they time things for after computex so he has a stop over on his way back to Canada it could work.

Showing this type of stuff to regular folks blows their minds 🤣 I'd pay good money to watch them fumble around while Linus guides them along like a patient parent
This is what I was thinking as well 🙂
They have time to discuss with the team at lmg ahead of computex, perhaps linus could take a stop on his way back to appear. This appearance was apparently done at short notice. I expect he'd be happy to return next year after ces, and companies will be tripping over themselves to have products for him to show off.

The hair cut is the thing that most weirds me out. I mean, it's a side part.

I love how Linus feels a sense of accomplishment at making it on "real" TV, when he has undeniably been instrumental in disrupting and redefining what "real" TV is for so many of us. For me, Linus and crew are about as real as it gets! ❤🤘
Which is kind of fun y because he probably gets lore views than real TV.
This video has about 25% more views than the 4 other videos with Bad Bunny COMBINED. Jimmy should take that as a lesson. All of old media should.

Listen, if I wanna see a showcase of random and upcoming tech, I go to Linus Tech Tips
The money LTT would make from companies wanting to show their products in a talk show would be unreal.
And as soon as he got the first product out, all awkwardness gone "This. This I know!" :D
