I'm currently on a Rebel 1100 dct and I love the look of that Wing in green without the top box..I dare not test ride one because I'm sure I'd be taking it home..😂😂 great vid..
I had one for 3 years, I did over 18k on her(I have other bikes). I loved the comfort, wind protection, and engine, but the dct made it soulless. I never want a dct again...
i’ve got a 21 plate tour DCT i’ve had bikes since i was 16, my wing was my prize to myself after overcoming serious health problems. last bike was a 2006 VN900 which i had for 14 years. Now i’m 70 and would love to be still riding at 83 as your guest.
@@mid.bike.crisis I have to thank my darling wife who pushed me into the purchase, the shocked look on the Chris the salesman face when Beverley blurted out get the bike or get a divorce lawyer. She had nursed me through my health issues and had lost her mum during the same period and i felt selfish and guilty as hell, but we are both enjoying the bike and the pillion comfort it gives her.
@@mid.bike.crisisye going through them now, there’s a couple on mine of my VN900, not brilliant but so what i enjoy the process rather than the result.
You have ridden it for a half hour and the penny is starting to drop, have it for a few days and frankly it’s The Best Road Bike bar none, I purchased it because of my wife being uncomfortable on our GS , RT etc, now after a few years there is simply nothing on the road to match it let alone beat it . The symphony playing from the engine totally gets under the skin. The power is 125bhp which sounds a bit on the low side for a six cylinder 1800cc motor but what needs to be looked at is the spread of power which is so linear and very strong even off idle, that’s why it goes so well
I totally agree with all you said about the GW DCT Bagger, great commuter around the town as well as tourer. The new styling does appeal to younger riders. I have owned one for 2 years and it is a keeper. Great review! Might even subscribe 😉
Thanks for the video I want one I'm riding a Honda nc750x dct from miles kingsport great service if they do o pr cent next year maybe. Great video thanks.
Had one a couple of years ago, nice bike, enjoyed it while I had it but I didn’t keep it long. Think you really need to have this bike to make it work, long trips, motorways etc. Not a lot of sensation with it, by design, so once the novelty wears off the downside is actually a lack of rider engagement.
I’d say if you don’t drive then this would be a great commuting bike. I’d definitely have one but I’d need to get rid of a bike to do so and I love my bikes too much at the moment.
I always fancied a Goldwing but eventually ended up with K1600gtle. Very similar machines but the K1600 could eat anything out there. That said both bikes are very heavy, not whilst riding but moving around the garage they are a real handful at my age( mid 60s). We parted company because of the manoeuvrability at a standstill after 3 years. Yes I still fancy a Goldwing but the prices now are beyond my pocket. I went back to the RT1250 and still love as a do anything bike and much lighter and cheaper to run & service. Could I be tempted by the Goldwing of course I could but it’s £10k beyond my pocket
Agreed that are heavy but very nimble when riding. Speak to the guys at Miles Kingsport in Hull, they’ll do you a great finance deal so you don’t have to lay out a big chunk of money. They also offer very fair trade in prices. Speak to Andy or Lee, top lads. Tell them Jim from Mid Bike Crisis referred you and you might get some extra discount 😉
Thank you. Yes you can pick it up as the weight is very low down. There’s a technique to it, with your back on the side of the bike, lift it as you stand up.
It was. Done it to. The bike just powers through. Its only a cable operated holding brake. Honda made a mistake by not using an electronic brake or a drive stop option
It’s a great cycle but the need to reclassify and downgrade the bagger as a st1300 replacement, 39k fir this bike is way to much, the front suspension needs more travel as I was often hitting the bottom stock over train track and speed bumps
The only problem i have is the radio does it link to your helmet? There’s nothing worse than seeing a motorbike with the radio blaring out in the town its will always be an old bloke with a crap taste in music which makes them look like a c-nt the bike however does look very nice and comfortable
I didn’t have anyone to help on this occasion but I did on this video, definitely adds more depth to the video. th-cam.com/video/PuHburMXmf8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sKc-P3dxcKyZmw8c
Bought my 2022 goldwing D C T from Miles Kingsport a few months ago dealt with Lee, faultless sale, I tour with the wife and we're loving the bike❤
I’ll defo have one at some point. Did you get the bagger or the tour?

I had a DCT Africa Twin and sold it too soon, I honestly think DCT is brilliant especially on a bike like this.

That’s brilliant to hear you overcame your health condition and good on you for buying your Goldwing. I’m sure you’ll be riding well into your 80’s 🙏

@@wjb2good on you! It’s a great thing to ride a bike especially with your Wife. Have a look through my other videos, you might enjoy them 😊

I would love to take it out again with the wife. If she goes on the back of my Africa Twin, I can feel the bike become unbalanced and she’s only small

Q. Enjoyed your little tootle. Could you pick it up should it accidentally conform to gravity?
Thank you. Yes you can pick it up as the weight is very low down. There’s a technique to it, with your back on the side of the bike, lift it as you stand up.
Love the Goldwing motorcycle
I really enjoyed the test ride
Once you have the Goldwing bug it's hard to beat.
It was only supposed to be a review for my channel…..I want one 😂

Agreed

I’m not sure if it can link. I had some 80’s on while on a 60mph road and it was fantastic but you’re right, I entered a town and turned it off 😂
What are those gloves ?
RST Urban 2 but I think now discontinued
I want to be like Frank when or if I make it to his age 😊
Me too 😂
You left the handbrake on lol
I know, realised 2 minutes into the ride, it can’t have been on fully though 😂
Bmw K1600 is far superior
Very compulsive viewing. Tip: get a mate to ride with you and take shots...!
