When I was about 13 I fell off my sisters bike and split my hand open. Adults saw what happened and insisted on calling an ambulance and I was taken to the hospital. The doctor said I had to have stitches but he couldn't treat me, he couldn't even clean the wound nor give me pain medication until my mom got there and signed a consent form.

As a 30yo male from Europe, I didn't grow up in an environment where transgender treatment was spoken about, let alone accessible. I always, always struggled with dysphoria. It wasn't a social contagion - it was real. I referred to myself as a girl when I first started talking, and my parents were correcting me, saying, "No, you're a HE".
It took me a long time, way into my mid-twenties to accept myself as a man, but today, I'm grateful. I cannot imagine my life if someone had approached me at 13 and told me I can change my sex. I would have done it 100% and quite literally ruined my life. Transitioning means you're actively choosing the life of pills and injections until you die, a non-functioning sex organ and social judgment. I cannot believe that is being promoted as happiness and "expressing who you really are". It's literally the opposite: you're mutilating and disguising who you really are.
My father was like Matt Walsh on steroids. Extremely conservative and dominant with conservative morals. I hated him for a long time, but today, secretly, I'm very thankful to him. His words and ideas have gotten through to me, and I feel like I've avoided a very horrible fate.
Edit: Thank you all for your kind replies and your strong opinions about me having to thank my father in person, not just "secretly be grateful".
And yes, I finally did have the conversation with him. It was kind of short, I said my piece, I apologised and acknowledged he never meant harm to me. He really appreciated it and basically said he will always be here for me.

@@sheilaharrison8547 He is alive and well, yes. I won't say he talked me out of transitioning, because it was my own decision never to transition. It was never an option for me because I felt like I would never "pass". My 6'2 height and strong build are masculine. I said I'd rather be a miserable and good-looking guy than a miserable and ugly trans woman. But later, I realised I don't have to be miserable. Yes, I always said I won't transition, but it wasn't always for the right reason. I'm a unique human being and don't need to change myself. Also, I like people to feel good around me, so I never ever thought of doing something as silly as changing my pronouns. I'm comfortable being a man. It's what I am.
As for my father, I'm mostly grateful he didn't overly pamper me and validate me as a kid. He did his best to help me grow a back bone (which is what a father figure should do anyway). I felt misunderstood by him, I felt like he was a cruel parent, but I don't feel like that anymore. I had my own perception, and after reading back our heated message exchange back in 2016/2017, I realised my words were way more aggressive than his. He was just trying to talk to me. It's all perception. Sometimes, you feel bullied by your parent, but you don't see your own behaviour.
I always felt like I never got the apology I deserved, but maybe I'm the one who owes one. I'll do it when I'm ready.

But I left that behind, as a parent now I see he was probably unable to be what I wanted. His own relationship with his father was very hard and no doubt informed his own views and abilities about fatherhood.
I haven't spoken to him for years now. I tell myself I will, that I will make things right, when I am ready. But in truth I have not much time left, he is an old man. Staying away has protected me, to open up is hard.

Surgery, especially around the perineal area has a high rate of infection and structural failure. I nursed patients who had no choice because their surgery was for cancer; the mainstay of my work was cleaning and packing wounds, sometimes for years following the initial surgery. Anyone who would perform radical surgery for no good reason is, in my opinion, a profiteering sociopath. Those who receive it are their victims encouraged in their misunderstandings.

If they’re supposed to watch a video and then answer questions, they just answer the questions without watching and are basically just guessing. They want to play on their phones. Talk to their friends. Not work. No comprehension. No accountability. They can’t in many cases even take out their papers or get a pen without multiple prompts…. And you still get a blank look or lots of excuses why they can’t follow directions. But these same children are supposedly able to make decisions about whether they’re in the “right body” or not and consent to permanent surgical procedures! Yeah, sure.

Aside from the hormones which have no way to be utilized by an opposite gender body, how about the fact that different types of skin and mucus membrane tissue will lose their normal blood supply and method of function, resulting in them not being able to attach to one another, stretch, lubricate, and have sensation? Hair is growing inside these transitioners. Scar tissue is forming and causing pain and tightness. Urination has been compromised. They cannot gain back the perfect functioning they have lost. It breaks our hearts. We are not trying to hate, we are trying to help.

Being middle aged with heart failure & arrhythmia is not like what most of my friends experience. Every health decision I make is complicated and expensive. • @ERH-ph5gb
      @ERH-ph5gb 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

Whilst this is an interesting question, it would still tend to confirm that supplemental hormones are something necessary, whereas each teenager's hormonal budget does that for them. A girl will get her monthly period whether she wants to or not, it will happen eventually. A boy will get a deeper voice whether he wants to or not. She will be able to get pregnant, he will be able to impregnate her, his beard will grow, etc. - To influence this biological process, which is unique in everyone and occurs at different times, with drugs is not the right sign.
It is just as nonsensical to try to influence the menopause with hormonal preparations, as menstruation will stop at some point, potency will decrease and the ageing process will come to full fruition. Everything you do to fight the biological process always ends up the same way anyway. By contrast, there is nothing to be said against seeking medical help if I have a real problem.

I told her that due to her current psychiatric condition, she wasn’t capable of making a life altering decision like that and that she couldn’t get through a day without a complete meltdown. I told her that until she was 18 and mentally stable that I wasn’t taking her anywhere. If at 18, she still wanted to be a man, I’d support her 1000%. 4 months later she quit binding her breasts stopped dressing like a boy. She claimed she was a lesbian, now she has a steady boyfriend. I held off sitting for my boards because of this woke ideologies. As a doctoral level psychologist we have taken an oath to do no harm. This means we must adhere to therapeutic protocols that have robust research that demonstrates positive outcomes and does not cause harm. These gender therapies that are being recommended and are called standards of care have zero research that demonstrates positive outcomes and does not harm. Sadly, whoever is in charge decided to stamp gender identity therapies as “standard of care” without the necessary research that have been required in the past. I went into this field to help not harm. Gender identity therapies cause lifelong harm to the clhild client and their families. As someone with a graduate degree in biology, whose partner is a child psychologist, I have to push back on this. Medical and psychiatric care for minors with gender dysphoria has been heavily researched. Current standards of care have been formed from years and years of robust peer reviewed research from multiple countries. The current standards of care exist not because anyone is woke, but because research has shown gender affirming care plus counseling is the best way to treat gender dysphoria in minors. Attempting to get a minor with dysphoria to accept their assigned gender has not been shown to be successful in most cases, and often not providing gender affirming care to dysphoric minors makes the situation worse.
We are scientists, and all healthcare professionals and researchers should operate using evidence based practice. The DSM and standards of care, and best practices, are constantly being reviewed and revised for all conditions, not just gender dysphoria. If this standard of care proves ineffective or damaging long term, recommended care will be updated. But for now these are the best practices available based on evidence.

They have known that for many years. As a woman who, due to Cancer had to have a hysterectomy very early, there was great concern over my hormone levels. I had to go on estrogen for a short time, and wean down but it was decided that it was far to high of a risk for Cancer to be on those synthetic hormones. Now these demons are giving them to children and for life basically. I think we will see a huge uptick in cancers in these people, which is very sad considering they should be protected from this, not exploited by their parents, teachers and so called medical professionals.

I have a 2, almost 3, year old. I regularly ask him questions like "do you know [insert thing here]", e.g. "do you know where we are going today?". He ALWAYS answers "yea!". and 80-90% of the time, if I ask "okay, where are we going today?" (or whatever the question was) he responds with "Don't remember..."
Kids are super good at pretending they know more than they do. This kid is at an age where some kids start putting trans-behaviors on them. And my son absolutely personalitywise would be the type who would be susceptible. He likes pink and if given a choice will wear clothes with flowers on it. He is in charge of picking out his little sister's clothes and always picks the pinkest, frilliest outfit, and explains his choice as it's the "prettiest outfit". He hates getting dirty, complains when we cut his hair, and demands that we clean and clip his nails often.
But, at the end of the day, he's a boy. He is just as excited to play with his dinosaurs or to wear camo. Under the surface, he's just a gentle soul who likes cleanliness/organization, and enjoys wearing clothing that's fun (and boys clothes are less fun on average than girls clothes).

Problem is having kids think of clothes as fun! Fun is spending time with your family, playing games and sports. When I grew up on a Canadian prairie farm with no power or running water, the second youngest of 7, I had zero thoughts as to clothes being fun, I had a handful of socks and underclothes, 2 pairs of pants, 4 shirts and one dress, all of which were hand-me-downs from 4 sisters who were 7 to 13 years older. All of what I had to wear would fit into a very small suitcase. I never had to ponder long what to put on each morning; it was either the oldest stuff on non-school days or the better hand-me-downs for school days or going to town once a month on a Saturday. Stop spoiling kids with more and more clothes and toys and "stuff" and spend time with them and 99.9999% of this bs will go away.

There was no issue with students or parents. Was just kind of a thing that happened, and life went on. But I remember the teacher coming into class one day very perplexed, and they asked the class if we might have some insight into why this person’s 13 year old daughter was acting out and not wanting to spend time with her father 🤦🏻‍♀️ I remember all the looks that went around the classroom. We couldn’t believe HE couldn’t understand why what HE did had an effect on HIS daughter. These people only think about themselves. Kids’ wellbeing is the absolute last thing on their minds.
