Sometimes I wonder if Nuzlockers should implement a “Safari/Marsh” clause, where the player should either A) keep trying at a specific Pokémon until the time runs out, or B) try on multiple different Pokémon until the time runs out (assuming there’s more than one option available depending on the run), and whatever they catch first is their encounter. The amount of control that a player has with catching a mon on the first attempt in the Safari/Marsh is just so low. Regardless, another great episode here and awesome work on this run Grumpy!
your pure joy at haunter evolving 🧡 you really had me with the specs joke! excellent buildup! it sounds like you’re have a lot of fun, and you deserve it.
Probably in the future. I already recorded a bunch of gameplay in advance for this run and a bit of the next as well. But I will make the change at some point.
Honestly Safari Zone mechanics are so weird that I don't think Nuzlocke rules should apply. There are a couple rules that I think could apply: 1, you can keep trying to catch the first new Pokemon species you encounter until you're actually able to catch it. 2, you catch as many Pokemon as possible in a safari game as if you're normally playing, and after the game is over you choose one to keep and release the rest.
I think I can see why you love Gengar so much. :) Really excited to see more of him. Let's play he doesn't die to a random crit... 🤞 11:21 😭😭😭😭😭 11:39 According to Bulbapedia, the flee chance is different for each species. Skorupi has a 47.1% chance to feel each turn, which is affected by how much mud or rocks you threw at it. Both actions actually have 10% chance to not hinder you (so mud could possibly _not_ decrease the catch rate, but will always decrease the flee rate). You can tell when this rare thing happens if a message is displayed (either "[Pokemon] is busy eating!" or "[Pokemon]" is beside itself with anger!") Also a little whoopsie moment: Whiscash is bugged to have a flee rate of 0, so it only has a 0.4% chance to flee. :) 13:52 Because it's impossible to resist picking up an item. 🤖 14:30 *Yeeeeah!* 😄✊ 15:30 This made me imagine a version of that meme with Rowlet saying "dafuq you want me to do?", except with Murkrow instead of Rowlet and Gengar instead of Groudon. Hilarious!
Idk if its just me, but I feel like your editing has gotten better! Compared to the Gen 3 videos. Also personally I think the safari zones need a Safari Zone Clause since it's the only area in the games with dumb fleeing RNG and whatever else.
Toxicroak works really good with Skuntank. They cover each other weaknesses pretty well tbh. I think you're looking at your final team with your current line up
I know you do occasional EV training here and there but do you ever worry about natures? I never really worry too much in game unless it's just outright bad, just wondering how long would you search for a good nature on a Pokemon if you do??
I always stick with the first one I encounter, no matter how bad the nature and IVs might be. I try not to pay attention to it too much outside of damages calculations if I do any.
Going to stick with my decision for this run but I think in future runs I'll just continue to try until I catch something when it comes to safari zones
Unfortunately I'm already past the point of no return with the recordings. But I will definitely be implementing a safari zone clause for all future runs.

I agree. I'll most likely implement this for future runs
Lmao my heart skipped a beat when I saw you about to trash the specs, especially since you lost Drifblim to not using them your last run

Hooray new video out!
What do you think about displaying the current level cap on the right? 🤔

That is a good point, and I will definitely consider it

Thank you for outlining the flee chances!
I love watching your videos with a good cup of tea, nothing better to relax to.
Babe, wake up. Its midnight on Friday but Grumpys got a new video out
Grumppy being a cool yet underated youtuber
Seriously this is a pretty cool video
Wow one of the best moments of after awful 4 attempts, a beast with gengar, keep it up bro

Yeah I do agree, I think I'm gonna add that for future runs
Love the vids. :) you are a good fella

Gengar stealing the show as usual 😈
Love the team so far
So when you run in the Great Marsh do you count the encounter as one and done instead of going by section? Great run still.
I do currently yeah, but I think I'm going to change that for future runs
@@grumpygengar22 That's a good plan.
This team looks powerful

Lol these NPCs XD
Do you have a copy of this Platinum Rom? How did your hanuter evolve tho?
Go get the skorupi. Safari zone is busted
Going to stick with my decision for this run but I think in future runs I'll just continue to try until I catch something when it comes to safari zones
@@grumpygengar22 i usually play so whatever my first encounter there is, i just repeat until i get him
Its your playthrough. Its your rules
Great video
You should definitely just bypass the safari zone bs and get that skorupi, the people wanna see it
Unfortunately I'm already past the point of no return with the recordings. But I will definitely be implementing a safari zone clause for all future runs.
I’m out for the algorithm. It will be interesting to see Lucian as an extra challenge this play through.
