The grinding to level up for the gyms is real in emerald legacy by smithplays....i'm onto Winona, and i had to go back and match call Roxanne and brawly, and a bunch of other trainers to get all of my party into the realm of 32-33, considering winona level cap is around 36....but every other gym on first face i have been going in with about a 4 to 6 level differential. If you're looking for hard mode emerald, i recommend it, except feebas is now notoriously harder to encounter because they added tentacool to the fishing on that route.

Another nice use for the special stat is Overheat, kind of going the other way around. Sp.Atk drop doesn't feel half as bad when you can just go back to physical moves

Monotype nuzlocks have given me a huge appreciation for a lot of Pokemon. I am probably the only person in the world who likes Illuminise. During a bug type Nuzlock, Illuminise with Encore and Wish made that possible

does the stat boost effect from the first tip affect my whole pokemon collection or just the team i am running or just the pokemon i used to battle the gym leader and gained xp with?

16:33 Does anyone know if there a limit to how many times you can rematch these trainers? Bc I did it so much that I don’t see them anymore after my last battle. I definitely got over 1M doing this and now I can’t seem to make them spawn. I heard from a Reddit post years ago that that could only be rematches 100 times or so. It’s this accurate? Or does anyone know why they aren’t spawning anymore

I use the daycare for the trade evolutions. If I want a good one on my team I just make sure to find one on FireRed/LeafGreen and train it properly. On R/S/E I don’t bother to find one with a good nature or train them in Hoenn. The Gen 3 Kanto games have ridiculous places to train

i think the main reason people didnt took a look at castform holding something is that because no one had a clue what holding items does lmao i remember gave a ultraball to my pokemons thinking they would throw the pokeball after attack

I did this not only to train my Pokémon but to power hatch eggs when I was at school as a kid 😂 I’d put 6 eggs in my inventory and let it run in my locker like that and come back to 6 babies and managed to get like 50+ lvl 100s

I grew up watching pokemon but never collected cards or played the games wasnt THAT interested ... im 28 and spent like 100 dollars on leafgreen ruby sapphire emerald and some other pokemon gba and ds games .. havent turned my ps4 on in about a month

I dont know if its really a tip or anything but you can grind EXP and money if needed by fighting the reporters over and over again. They rotate from east of mauville, east of fortree, and east of lavaridge on rt 111. They will have an exploud and magneton which sometimes makes it easier to grind depending on which mons you are trying to level up

I know this video is old but I want to throw this out there. Wattson is truly a run killer without Mudkip or some of the better encounters, but linoone can actually learn mud sport at lvl 23. This can make him a decent mon with a paralysis berry, rock smash, headbutt, and tail whip

Dang! I only missed TM36! All the other items were kind of important to me. I just never knew TM36 a.k.a Sludge Bomb was in Dewford Town. I used Grimer and Gulpin to breed Sludge Bomb to other pokemon, but this allows me to give it to Crobat now!

Is there any other way of getting thief? I have gotten it once but then replaced the move with another one. I tried going to the re-learner guy but he didn’t have the move either. Pls help

Just discovered you and i honestly was looking for this kind of content. I love how you go into detail of potential encounters and actual talk about and show each gym fight unlike the shorter form nuzlocke style content. You can tell alot of time and research going into these run and i look forword to seeing the next run!

I think it’s perfectly fine to get the male and female combee. Most ither games have the macho brace available without getting pokemon it’s an unfortunate coincidence that platinum requires showing certain pokemon. The spirit of a nuzlock to me has always been surviving the challenges of trainer battles not “will I randomly have a pokemon that will allow me to access a core game mechanic”

Quick comment, if you’re using bronzor or bronzong you can take on the collector with a heracross no problem. Hard counter for him.

I disagree about Sceptile, as special moves that became physical after the Phy/special split like Leaf Blade and Pursuit, are now boosted by Swords dance, this is important as this is the only consistent set-up move that he has, and he also have excellent coverage with moves like Earthquake and (later on Acrobatics). while his special attack is higher than his physical attack, he just has better physical moves and access to SD, never saw the appeal of using a special attacking non-mega sceptile, when Serperior exists

I tried an emerald nuzlocke with treecko and I couldn’t make it passed Watson. All the magnemites on cycling road were hard but that STUPID magneton Watson had. I hate that guy so much!

13:40 speaking of Oreburgh gate, I know i‘m late BUT… The lower floor of Oreburgh gate has 5% Chance of encountering a level 10 Golbat which is normally supposed to evolve from Zubat at Level 22 (Gardenia‘s Level cap), which MEANS if you get lucky and encounter that Golbat and catch it, you can run around in circles for 2 hours to maximize it‘s friendship AND THEORATICLY(spelled wrong probably) GET A CROBAT BEFORE HEADING TO FLOAROMA TOWN! I have NEVER seen anyone do this (I didn‘t do this either), but IT IS POSSIBLE.

I never use move delete I’m awake of what I’m doing while I play so I use hm slaves besides surf and fly which are helpfull in battles to anyone that can learn them and I don’t use tm unless I need it beat a gym or elite 4

This works with low levels really good but after level 30ish it takes to long

3:13-3:18 I don't believe it counts as an encounter but more of a "gift encounter", on my Emerald Cross nuzlocke (it has an option to make the game automatically a nuzlocke or hardcore nuzlocke) (difference being, in hardcore you can't use items in battle and it deletes your save file whenever you white-out) and I was able to get a Wurmple as well as my starter.

Game freak actually peaked with the emerald. I was lucky enough enough to buy it a few months after i bought sapphire back then, and i feel so lucky nowadays than i did. I had an amazing experience on emerald... a lot of hours played and never got bored. The battle frontier was a big reason for that.

I got GPT to write a script where it rides the Mach bike left and right indefinitely so I can get fastest daycare XP possible. And it spams the B button 10 times every minute to bypass random match calls in emerald. And I put the emulation speed at 40x the normal rate while doing so.
