I've never wanted to do a nuzlocke, and I certainly am not ready for such an extreme one as this. I do have to say though, I'm finally trying one after binging basically all of your challenges. I got my Emerald copy out, and currently as of beating Brawly I've not had a single loss, as close as it's gotten. I do hope you're able to come back, but if not just know you inspired at least one person to get into nuzlockes! Edit: My poor Wingull didn't survive long after this comment, going down to a crit from Team Aqua's Carvanha in Slateport.

1:12:40 I believe that odd number health that can't be rounded to a perfect percent correctly will cause berries and such to pop at one health lower than they should. So if Lucario had an non-roundable health amount, even at 25% (roughly) it won't pop until it's one lower. I'm pretty sure it worked like that until gen 6.

Compound Eyes only work from Emerald onwards. Emerald is where many encounter related secondary effects of abilities introduced.

once I discovered Sableye, I made the decision to never bother raising a Wurmple again. You don't have to worry about switch training, you don't have to worry about evolving it into a Silcoon and needing to raise another one to get a Cascoon, you don't have to sink any experience into it at all. Just don't bother. Literally just focus on doing what you need to do to beat Roxanne and once you get to Dewford, catch your Brawly beater in Granite Cave and you're just set. It's the gen 3 equivalent to catching a Diglett before Surge, except it's actually easier because you don't have to worry about Sonicboom or anything, Sableye literally just walls the entire gym lmfao. The fact that it also happens to wall the only other gym that Dustox thrives against, Norman, is perfection.

It really took me 20 minutes to realize that all the sprites in this tier list are the second frame of animation all these mons have.

I am late to this video but I can add a few exemples. If we add the egg only moves, you get even more reasons to keep pokemon from evolving : If we want to play a 1 HP Blaziken with Counter (a set also abusing Blaze ability, benefitting from a lack of priority in the gen), we need to hold onto male Vigoroth to pass it onto torchic. Hold onto Machoke to get a Cross Chope Hariyama. You spoke about Ninjask about Metal Claw, but most importantly hold Nincada can give you a Baton Pass Ninjask (additionaly BP Shedinja). Speed Boost + BP is godly. There are probably other exemples, but Egg Moves makes things complicated, it might not be for every playthrough since a many players skip breeding.

Such a shame I discovered your content after you've gone on hiatus. Thank you though, your succinct editing, reliable audio, detailed commentary and the overall quality of these projects is several cuts above what you'd even expect from a 50-100k subscriber channel. Playing through emerald again, I noticed some changes I do not like from Ruby/Sapphire: - First, the player outfits are significantly worse for my own taste - I have ever used the Battle Tents! With the Battle Hill (that probably barely anyone here even remembers) and the Battle Frontier that is just too much battle institutions and it causes the contests halls to be merged into one building so late in the game that it really feels bad. Contests are post badge 6 in Emerald! Like, why? (Also, the Battle Hill is really weird. It's some random staircase in a wall to the north of mauville that you can easily just not notice) - The extreme imbalance between Team Aqua and Magma makes both team together a lesser version of the version exclusives. A total failure of merging their stories into one also makes both teams appear far more incompetent as in Ruby/Sapphire. - Roxanne having a third pokemon for the sake of it makes the fight just more boring because it is just another geodude - The 8th gym AND the Champion being Water Type specialist was a poor choice because you ALSO have Archie as the leader of a water focused Team and Glacia, an Elite 4 Member who also is a water specialist because of how few ice types there are in this game. Of course Emerald is still an overall upgrade, but these few things do really bother me while playing Emerald. ESPECIALLY the Battle Tent one. Contests are such an integral part of Hoenn's DNA and popular enough to also exist in the 4th generation, so why shove them completely into the second half of the game and replace them with a redundant feature? I do not think I have ever used any of the Battle Tents. I remember when I first played Emerald I though it was a cool new design for Contests Halls, then I went in and was very disappointed.

In my personal experience, Sableye isn't the best battler, but as support, he's pretty good. Great typing, a good move pool, is pretty easy to level up (Rip the many Whismer and Spinda) and can be used for chipping. Fake out for stalling, Night Shade for damage, Knock Off for held items, and Toxic for chipping.

I’m playing Omega Ruby with a starter-less team based around using Sunny Day with an emphasis on Ruby exclusives. So it’s Castform, Chlorophyll Shiftry, Harvest Tropius, Magma Armor Camerupt, Solrock and Zangoose. It’s right that he carried the mid-game but as it gets late into it, the fact is that using STAB Psychics off that shitty SpDef stat truly becomes a hindrance and he can’t get Zen Headbutt until postgame. I already have 2 mons with Solar Beam and I liked having fire moves for some coverage but it looks like as I approach the end, he’s become redundant with sharing Rock moves with Camerupt, Tropius Air Slash covers against fighting, while Shiftry also learned Extrasensory with a higher SpAtk stat even if it’s not STAB. He was truly a shining light in that mid game tho.

Another way to acquire King's Rock is through the Pickup ability. Zigzagoon and Linoone from Level 11 to Level 30 have a 1% of picking up a King's Rock when the Pickup user picks up an item. So a 10% chance multiplied by a 1% chance equals a 0.1% chance. A 1 in 1000 chance to occur after each battle.

Actually the only reason i would do that is if i want to rush Emerald with 1 Pokemon (starter or other) and 5 Zigcagoons trained with that Method to get more items with there Abilitys 😅 On the other side it just wastes your time because ... most of the enemys in Gen 3 are really weak ... its not really necersery to train your party like that ;)
