Tony, I am a 3X combat Veteran (Army) and I am disabled because of one of my tours in Iraq. I took NO OFFENSE to seeing what appeared to be a flag draped over an engine. I served my country with honor and have been medically retired so, if I don't see the issues with what you had in the shop, and I'm as American as fuck and proud of it, you shouldn't worry about what others are saying. If I see you or anyone disrespecting the flag or country, I'll say something. You're good Bro!
If it was draped over a foreign motor, I'd understand the outrage, but it was over a hemi and not touching the ground. What's the problem? Thank you for your service, btw 🫡
people that sacrifice for other peoples freedoms usually like to see said people enjoy them and don't sweat the small stuff, thank you for your service bro.
I'm American as fuck and I have American flags hanging in my workshop, above my bench at work, from my front porch and one in my window for some privacy. If you're not a government institution I don't understand why you'd be so offended by not following US flag code. Chances are your flag does not even meet the code in the first place especially since most of them are made overseas anyway. Take a deep breath folks.
As a Veteran, I agree. I seen it in the last video and just kept watching. Its not like it was on the ground and being mangled. It was covering an AMERICAN engine. lol...
Nobody is getting bug-eyed and hyperventilating that I'm seeing. It's about having basic respect for the symbols of our country. The U.S. flag isn't just for Government institutions ... it's for all of us. Even those that may not know how to display it properly. The meaning of our symbols has been lost and, in some cases, vilified by the same people that claim to be patriotic Americans. Having just buried my brother that served in Viet Nam ... seeing that flag being folded and presented to his daughter meant a hell of a lot.
It hits different when you've witnessed 18-20 year olds seriously maimed and killed defending it. I'm not throwing shade, but don't downplay something as serious as honoring the flag and what it represents. You're free to do whatever you want with the flag, but its very serious to some us.
Im glad someone else is with me on the name lol. Been pushing it since it began (even though he probably can't call it that cause his kids, it'll always be as-tang to me 😂
There are off the shelf lightweight flywheel for the V12 that fit a fairly standard Sachs motorsport pressure plate with whatever flavor of 240mm clutch disc you want.
My Favorite car channel! I can relate to real life budgets and mods. I hate these $100k-500k cars that no normal person could actually build. Thanks for all you do Tony.
Some of the old V12 Jaguar XJS'es ran two separate Marelli ignition systems. They tend to go up in flames when one bank's distributor and rotor fails, but the computer continues to run the injectors - have heard that they either cause the cats to glow red hot or that the fuel rail gets torched. One of those cases where distributorless EFI with a single computer is a big plus!
This is 1 of 2 TH-cam builds I'm pumped for. This V12 Astin Martin Mustang and CJRC V10 Lamborghini 69 Camaro drag and drive. Can't wait to see both finished.
Additional Veteran chiming in...I felt no disrespect, but appreciate you bringing it up, because most are blind to what we're talking about. I'll be continuing to watch every episode and I respect you more for even bringing it up!
So happy to see this thing back under way. I saw it and several others on a "I gotta sell some cars" thumbnail and I got worried. I wanted to see and hear one of these Jag/Aston v12 motors unleashed from factory control. Thank you Tony and team. I'm hoping the guys make a harness layout so that engine could have it's own stand alone harness since you guys did all of the lay out work. I'm willing to bet it makes 450 at the wheels and sings like a banshee. Again, thank you, so excited!
@@danmyers9372 your not wrong, it’s a buy once cry once product! For what this chassis is designed to do for the Foxbody platform and all the problems it solves, its a no-brainer if they plan on making the car brake and handle, making it something other than just a cool sounding swapped burnout car. You’ll come pretty close to spending the same amount piecing everything separately anyways. Hell with an RS chassis under the car and that engine combination, those two things alone could make this a standout build for SEMA 2025 amongst all the other Foxbodies that will be there next year on that chassis.
I remember there were people running the Toyota 1GZFE (V12) that had two ecu's but were able to use one stand alone in their motor swaps. I just want to throw that out there in case you guys want a little more insight on running V12 motors 😅, the Toyota communities' on FB are super informative and helpful.
Hey if you guys ever read these, the two of everything sensor wise is a common trick for odd fire engines, engines with non equal spark intervals like most v10s. Would have two ECUs, one for each bank running like 2 straight 6s. This would make sense due to the duratec 60°V
When you get the Mustang coils, double check the boot length. You can swap them from the oid coils to the new ones. I had the 3.0L in my 2006 Mazda6 and I loved that thing. Sounded amazing when you rung it out. (Ford and Mazda had a partnership at the time.) I had MSD 4.6L coils on my 6, just had to swap the boots. There's also a 3-pin version (remote driver) on the SHO that swaps.
I was a body man in the 80s work for a Rolls-Royce dealer one of them Aston Martin came in with rear-mounted turbos man was that thing fast whoever did the job on that car was really talented
Go with individual throttle bodies. That would be absolutely incredible. Absolutely love the complete different angle on a build from this one. Keep it up man, it’s great.!
This is a very cool project. I'd forget about the knock sensor- they are almost impossible to get right on a chassis dyno especially with such an unusual engine for which there is 0 data. You're running it N/A so you'd have to do something really dumb to hurt it anyway.
Double intakes. I'd be putting a say 3/8 tube / hose between the banks to equalize balance at idle. This could be done with the PCV or feed to the power brake booster.
I think the Holley ECU can also handle two throttle bodies, that's all I know. I saw it done recently on the ONDGAS channel. He did a 71 Camaro with dual throttle bodies.
Thank you so much for this video. I’m currently bed ridden with a broken foot and had ran out of stuff to watch 😅 I did finally get to finish the sopranos though.
Astons of that era were Ford parts bin specials. I got to ride in an 04 or 05 Vantage a while back. I worked on Volvos at the time and thought it was hilarious a $100k+ car used the nav screen out of a S40/V50/C70 and door latches out of a C70. The window switches were straight out of a Ford Focus/Mazda 3/and aforementioned Volvos. The most expensive cars Ford was involved with at the time put together with parts from the cheapest cars Ford sold.
Looking forward to seeing how the new harness comes out. I recently built a wire harness for the wife’s 91 wrangler yj and it took quite a bit of redos before it was happy.

In that era, it was very common for V-12's to be ran as two separate engines because of a combination of available parts from "more common" applications, as well as the processing power per unit time to manage fuel and spark events.
LOVE this build!!! Being a sleeper type of person, I only have one request for this badass machine: make it look as stock as possible, to include interior! No need to make it obnoxious. The engine will do that all by itself!
in the early 00's ford made a prototype new edge mustang with a performance version on the Triton v10. to accomplish the engine management, they wired it (basically) as 2 separate inline 5 cylinder engines, i.e. 2 ECU's controlling each bank of the engine. I wonder if that's what Aston's angle was with the 2 crank sensors (being a proponent of Ford at the time). I'm writing this at 11:10 so maybe I'm jumping the gun and you came to this conclusion, but my $0.02 would he to treat it like 2 I6 engines that share and oil pan.
I just thought of a cool follow-up to this build. Lay your hands on a Jensen Interceptor to play with next! Unlike the V12 Fox, the actual acquisition of a JI would be the hardest bit, instead of trying to build a stout motor from scarce pieces. That's because all JI's came from the builder equipped with either a 383, 426, or 440 Mopar mill!! I've heard rumors of a few 360's escaping into the public as well, but don't quote me on it. {For the record, Jensen was an English firm that specialized in mating exotic body styles exclusively with down-n-dirty Pentastar powerplants. A variation on the Sunbeam Tiger / 427 AC Cobra premise - and virtually every motor Jensen got from Chryco was totally free of emission controls, as well as boasting compression ratios that ranged from a minimum of 10:1 to 13:1.} Fun stuff, indeed!!!😎

Yay, the V12 Asstang!
The perfect name 🤘
Im glad someone else is with me on the name lol. Been pushing it since it began (even though he probably can't call it that cause his kids, it'll always be as-tang to me 😂
Once it melts tires it'll be the Blastang, until it blows the rear end out and be the Asstang again.
Midweek video for the win. Way to be Tony and crew.
Thanks!
When tony said he stayed up to watch grown men have a pillow fight was he talking about Dr Tyson and Dr Paul. Ya know since they script fighters lol
Wish i never watched it, what an embarrassment.
It's the car guy equivalent of finding a piece of furniture on the curb, then building a house around it. Love it ❤️
The Astang Marstang. It's like a british butler that powerlifts for a Florida man in a double wide.
HAHAHA, that is pretty specific!
This is a great name.
Now all he needs to do is give us a VGG style description of what the interior smells like 😂

I can't even finish installing an intercooler for my SC Mustang and these guys are over here making James Bond's Foxbody. Awesome video as usual.

With the recent news we need you guys more than ever. Love your videos love that your on the east coast.
The redcoat fox is coming along nicely ! Love custom one off but doable projects like this .
Love all the Stay Tuned projects but this one is truly unique!
I got the notification and thought YT was fffffing with me! Wednesday upload and the V12 Fox!!!! Let's go!!!!!!!!!!!!!
