In all honesty Redline is probably the best racing anime ever made. I've watched Initial D, and as much as I like that anime and it's memes, the animation wasn't fantastic, and the cars at times felt like they were slower than they actually were. Considering how many episodes of Initial D were made, I wished they focused more on quality over quantity. Redline on the other hand really gave me and immense feeling of speed. The way the cars moved and stretched as they got faster really emphasised how much power was packed under their hoods. Definitely up there as one of the best anime movies/animes in general, it's tragic how criminally unappreciated this film was back when it hit cinemas

the comparaison isn't fair and initial d cars feeling slow is actually realistic if you watch how even an rx7 of 350hp behave on a circuit like the nurb you can see why such a car would feel slow drifting around hairpins so ye initial d wasn't about showing speed but rather techniques and some degree of realisme where redline has a different aproach.
Does anyone still pop in here to listen to this? Honestly this movie and this song in particular brings so many feelings to the forefront of my mind. I have no idea why this movie makes me so emotional, But it does.

The chorus from the original song was removed. The chorus really did not fit with the overall feel of the original song. In my mind this remix is better. And please refrain from using hateful words to prove your point.
@MiddleWoody the blu rays come out early august in japan, so hopefully will get ripped and put on usual channels mid-aug. Not sure about US but UK release of bluray is mid-nov i think so if you want to do this legally you'll have to wait till then
