12:15 - "... time to yourself." "Maybe that's the last thing I want." Knowing what we know now ... this made me cry. RIP Robin. You'll always be remembered with fondness by many, many people.
Agreed, on all counts. A lot of people go for the 'report' to Orson at the end of this episode (and it is powerful). But I always found that Mindy/Pam 'interview' a very (rare) and affecting insight into Robin himself, and deeply moving.
At 14:00 - (from IMDB): Roddy McDowall's portrayal of Chuck the Robot's death was so powerful, the audience stopped laughing and did not laugh for the remainder of the taping, even when Chuck was still speaking comedic lines. This was a tribute to McDowall's enormous talent. His performance was completely vocal, yet he held the audience's emotional interest fully enough for them to be moved to tears by the death of a robot. At the moment of Chuck the Robot's final breath, McDowall had even succeeded in bringing Robin Williams to the point of sobbing. Williams was still crying at the end of his Orson report, which ended with tears running down the star's face.
Spot on. Roddy was a wonderful all around actor, from boyhood. And incredibly personable and charming as a person. He brought all of that to Chuck, and the fact that people were so invested in the outcome in less than 20 minutes of airtime without ever seeing him in person, was a testament to all that. I also like to tip the hat to the writers, the entire episode a funny yet progressively poignant, and ultimately deeply sad, allegory for dementia and the desire to keep someone you love versus letting them go.
I am glad that the number one moment was when Mork had returned to his normal size in the very first episode of the second season. It was really good to see both Mork and Mindy have a good and happy cry for themselves.A nice piece of acting!!!
Although Mork and Mindy is a comedy series, it does have its share of more serious and emotional moments. When "A Mommy for Mindy" came up on here, I was expecting to see the scene where Mindy goes to bed and dreams about the day when her mother passed away, then wakes up bawling and saying "I want my mommy!" That scene always makes me tear up a bit.
Robin and Pam appeared again together in one of Robin's shows in 2013-2014 so that was also great. I think it was the Crazy Ones where Robin played a creative Ad agency person and Sara Michelle Gellar from Buffy co-starred. Pam showed up in one episode on Robin's show in 2014. Thank you for posting this!
You made me cry. I remember seeing #1 when I was ten and crying, sobbing that Mork wasn't gone. Now I see it through the eyes of a married woman and cry for entirely different reasons. Thank you for posting.
Not sure I should say I'm happy (to have made you cry!) but glad to have brought back a few affecting memories! And I know what you mean about viewing it through different eyes as you progress through life. Think it shows the quality of the writing (and the acting of course) that it resonates on different levels.
I can't argue with any of thise selections. I had a feeling the final story arc, involving Joe Regalbuto's evil Saturn character would make it. It's easy to forget how deep this show could be. If only ABC hadn't kept changing its time slot, imagine what coukd have been done with Mearth exploring his new world... For the record, Joe's character breaking free from his foam statue, saying, "Mooorrrk, your days are numbered!" was high quality nightmare fuel.
A superb top 10 list. I can't find fault with any of them, and they were in the perfect order too I dare say. And I tried to reply to Maximilian's comment about this having been uploaded on his birthday. As coincidence would have it, Dec 19th is also my birthday! Sensational job, thank you and Nano
Very true! Some were very affecting (especially the one at the end of Mork meets Robin Williams!), but they have been quite well pointed out on other folks channels/vids. So I decided to go from some within the plotlines themselves (always loved the last 2 scenes in particular), to showcase the writing and the skills of both Robin and Pam and the wider cast and guests.
What is there to say other than The one tho only the tru the master of his craft ROBIN WILLIAMS He could make you laugh and cry at the same time and it seemed so effortless Yet it took a true magician to do it He was there for us shinning so bright He was MORK he was an alien and when we lost him he did not die He simply went home to his people his planet And out there among the stars he is still saying NANU NANU Just saying 🇧🇻
I know this doesn't REALLY matter, but it makes me so happy that this was uploaded on my birthday
LOL! Belated Happy Birthday!

When Mork (Robin) is either channeled Mindy's mom or talking to her gets me teary eyed

It really breaks my heart to see Robin cry, knowing what we know now makes my heart break even more
True, it's all the more poignant.
Breaks my heart as well

I just wish you hadn't left so early, Robin.

I was really hoping to see mork meets robin williams on here, very glad to see it’s second place 👍 brought me to tears
Yeah, it's a personal favourite. Found it very touching and insightful.
Beautiful. More reasons why these comedy-drama series earned Emmys for best made for TV drama series. 😅😅
10:30 I started crying. Toughest scene in the show to watch emotionally
great choices

LOL, that *is* a coincidence, and thank you! Nano!👽❤
There were also a lot of affecting moments during the outros when Mork was reporting to Orson.

Orkans are extremely sensitive to psychic phenomena😀😀😀
The interview with Robin Williams, and Mindy Pam Dawber goes a long way, and seeing why Robin died the way he did. He gives you a hint.
Who the hell is cutting onions?!?
LOL...sorry about that, I'll put 'em away.
I'm not going to say the robot's death made me ugly cry... lets just say I got something in my eye
Number 2 💔😢
What is there to say other than
The one tho only the tru the master of his craft
ROBIN WILLIAMS
He could make you laugh and cry at the same time and it seemed so effortless
Yet it took a true magician to do it
He was there for us shinning so bright
He was MORK he was an alien and when we lost him he did not die
He simply went home to his people his planet
And out there among the stars he is still saying
NANU NANU
Just saying 🇧🇻
He lost Mindy twice.
