In the summer of 1979, I had the good fortune of being part of the audience for the rehearsal of a second season episode of "Mork and Mindy" (I think it was "Clerical Error" - the one were Mork wants to become a Priest). It was the best early birthday present ever; not only did I get to see my comedic hero, but I also was treated to hearing Robin Williams go off book. I'll never forget the riff he did about circumcising elephants. It was pure comedy gold; so random, but it worked!
Miss him on TV show on doing live concert starts with the interview review history books documentary about biography book club fun more than more information on maze's and the best part of the same place looks like
i was a big fan of mork and mindy when i was a kid robin williams was my pen pal years later i came out to hollywood to live out here where i am now and when ever im on hollywood blvd i go to robins star on the hollywood walk of fame and i stand on his star i can feel his energy and i also go to the comedy store i can see pics of him performing on stage there i miss him very much rip rockin robin we love and miss you
I agree with your viewpoint on the "additionals aspect". As a 10 year old at the time, I think it might have been getting a little complicated with the introduction of new characters so frequently.
As funny as Jonathon Winters as Mearth is, it would have been better without him. Mork and Mindy should have gone out travelling or bring the time travel plot in sooner. As an alien gimmick maybe the 4 years were enough, but I would have kept watching it if it had a season 5. Robin and Pam of Mork and Mindy reunited one episode on "the Crazy Ones" starring Robin Williams many years later during the 2013-2014 single season.
I always felt that Robin Williams had something spectacular as an actor/comedian. I believe that “Mork & Mindy,” should have been given more time to develop the plot of the show.
One of the best shows was in my early yrs. Dialog wasn't everything. Robin was was fun to watch. In latter yrs the humor off the cuff is a true talent. He will always be missed as comedian and person who graced our lives.
I used to watch this show faithfully and that's where I learned of the genius that is Robin Williams. I am 46 now and I love watching old sitcoms and compare them to today. There are a LOT of 70's and 80's shows that absolutely would not fly today.
Mork and MIndy and Robin Williams ranked right up there with John Ritter as Jack Tripper character in Three's Company who is also a great comedian. John Ritter was a great physical humor actor and also funny comedian. Both big shows of their era.
Robin is one of the all time amazing comedians of any generation. The speed at which he can create humor is wonderful to watch. Interviews on Carson. HIs last series The Crazy Ones in 2013-2014 should have gone more seasons. It was fun to watch as was Mork.
That 1st season of Mork & MIndy is still fresh and funny in 2020. Absolute classic! 👍 Im watching the box set now and I'm in the 3rd season now and it's still kind of funny but it's as if they've run out of ideas what to do with Mork.
I remember watching the premiere episode in a bar with friends. After I had laughed myself silly, I turned to one of my friends and said, 'It's too funny. It'll never last more than a season.' Boy, I'm glad I was wrong!
I always LOVED Mork and Mindy. I remember July 19th, 1979, the night I became a fan. I wanted the show to go on for a fifth season. I would have interesting for Mork and Mindy to go back in time, and meet Ben Franklin etc. Ben Franklin turned up on my other favourite show Bewitched. Robin Williams as Mork made me laugh so hard!!!!!
Ever since i was little i fell in love with Mindy's CJ jeep. I think the first season it was a CJ5 but in the subsequent seasons it was a CJ7. And yes, i do own a CJ.
ABC hurt Mork & Mindy after the first season when they moved the show from Thursday at 8 and moved it against Archie Bunker's Place on Sundays at 8. And changed the supporting cast. Season 1 remains the best season
More episodes I mean c'mon of course. It should still be in original programming now. Not only would that awesome show still be on....but maybe it would have been enough to keep Robin here where we needed him
I Think it was that older lady that worked at the music shop who said it. But during an episode, she said she “he’s wiener fatigue.” I have ALWAYS wondered... what the heck is “wiener fatigue?!”
Oh yeah they should have made more episodes. Actually I think it should have lasted 10 seasons! Robin was a whirlwind of talent, he and Pam could have kept it going.
If Mork & Mindy had been more successful, the series would last much longer depriving us of some of William's talent in other works. I liked it, but am glad Robin gave us so much more.
I remember the Mindy house as a kid. We use to drive by it from time to time. I was a huge fan then ( as a young girl ) and would run around in rainbow suspenders that were referred to as my Mork suspenders.
I read once that in an episode, Mork was in a bath robe and flashed Mindy with his back to the audience. Problem was, he wasn't wearing anything under the robe so Pam got an eye full.
I LOVE that show and wish that the show could have lasted a lot longer than it did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You could have a lot more stories, how Mearth got younger and how Mork got younger, where they ended up when the apartment got destroyed at the end and much more stories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Granted the addition of Merth was probably jumping the shark at that time, but Jonathan Winters was an inspired choice and he was brilliant working with Robin Williams.
I’m currently 39 years old I live in Miami Florida. Robin Williams is my main reason I got into the entertainment industry. I’m currently a professional comedy magician and I think about them all the time my mother had me when she was 45 years old and she was a huge huge Robin Williams fan I think about them all the time
Very interesting, thank you so much for sharing your life story. We're happy to know that you're a big fan of Robin. What is your most memorable role of his?
I was about 5 when Mork and Mindy came out. Mostly I remember watching in reruns on Nick at Nite. I thought they should have done at least one or two more seasons.
There are a few episodes of Mork & Mindy going thru time & being chased by that guy & the FBI! They are on you tube now. They needed more of those for Sure!!! ;) I still LOVE it today, & binge episodes when I'm home sick from work ;) Johnathan & Robin were like 2 Peas in a POD, so quick witted it's hard to keep up! Just watch People try to interview them in old clips of talk shows! ;) I loved the Moral values they tried to teach on the show too. Always been my favorite show. 🤩
I love the interaction of Robin Williams and Jonathan Winters but they jumped the shark when they added Jonathan to the cast as Mork and Mindy's son. It just didn't work for me, I couldn't suspend disbelief for that. Loved the show, loved the cast and miss Robin a bunch.
I think first season was the best. If the producers had kept the main theme of the series, Mork & Mindy would've been on air longer than just four seasons. Anyways, I love this show so much
@@joeymorvant161 I think that changes in the timetable made the producers change some things. It's like the relationship between Mork and Mindy during season 2 was less important or exciting like it was in the first season, in my opinion. And that's why the show lost viewers. As I said, it could've last more years that it really had if some things wouldn't have changed in the middle
Jonathan Winters did played Mindy's Uncle Dave McConnell on Season 3 Episode 18 on Mork and Mindy before he was recast as Mearth! I though I let you know about it: Fact Verse and everybody on TH-cam!
With all of the reboots and revivals going on these days, THIS is one I'd love to see. Unfortunately, Robin Williams is the only one who could ever be Mork - so, sadly, this will never come to pass.
ABC should have done a 5th season because it would have been interesting to see them go back in time. Also for sinacation over 100 episodes would have been good.
I'm guessing that the triangle on the front of the jumpsuit was a takeoff of the triangles on the Star Trek suits that later became com badges on Star Trek TNG.
I'm not. I was a fan when I was 11 in 1978 and it was a new show, but for me, Williams' act wore thin by the time the 80s rolled around. That frantic, coked-up persona was too much after several viewings.
My sister's blind so I understand the frustration of not having Descriptive Video. You should look up his New York stand up routine from like 2002, its some of his best material (according to me) :)
Actually, it was really only a part of Love American Style in order to be aired and given a chance to grow. If it wasn’t for the success of American Graffiti, this episode would have been all we would have ever seen of Happy Days.
Mork and Mindy was my favorite show as a child, I wish it had stayed on longer. ❤ great video!!

Yes but the heads of tv networks aren’t that smart. They’re rather stupid actually. Just study ANY of them.
The idea of Mearth was too stupid
This show was GENIUS and ended too soon. Robin Williams was a genius. Nothing more needs to be said.
One of my Favorite Shows to this Day!!
The premise was essentially to have Robin be Robin once a week on tv - and it was fucking awesome. Rest in peace Robin.
I wanted them to make more episodes. Robin William's was my favorite comedian.
You should learn how to spell his name then.
How do you spell it? That looks right to me.

Pam is beautiful. Her husband Mark Harmon is a lucky guy.
