Thanks a lot, yes no microwave, stand mixer or mobile phone, not that I'm against them. Just never needed them. Hope you give the cake a try it was delicious.
That looks absolutely delicious. I like the way you don’t use fancy equipment we might not have and it’s excellent to hear how inexpensively we can bake your recipes.
It was, beautiful texture, delicious icing and great with a little pouring cream. I thank you very much for you support, it really is appreciated and i hope you try the cake. Thanks.
I’m so impressed with your site. I’ve just passed it on to my friend who says she can’t make nice food. I’ve made your delicious scones, lemon drizzle cake and can’t wait to try this choccy fudge cake.. Thankyou so much for your easy to follow instructions and fabulous content. 👏💕
I've just made this for a birthday cake and it looks lush 😋 can't wait to try it. I made mine in 2x 20cm cake tins as I wanted a round cake to decorate, but I still baked it 180°c for 30 mins and it was perfect. I omitted the baking soda too as I wanted a reasonably flat top to decorate, its a little flat but with a decent amount of filling and two layers its pretty perfect in proportion. I added chocolate stars and sprinkles and a sparkly gold 'happy birthday' candle and 2 corgi minis to the board. Its cost me around £14 all in, including cake board and box and the extra decs... was quoted £60 for a professional one... mine looks pro even if i do say so myself 🥳
Great! Thanks for making these all time popular family favourites that we can afford. I don't own a microwave either and have passed on no less than two that have been given to me
Watching you bake is just a delight. How perfect was the timing of this recipe as we’re visiting family next week and their treat will be your delicious chocolate fudge cake. Thank you so much. I tell everyone about your channel and your recipes. May you have continued success and may your channel go from strength to strength. 👍🏻💕
Delicious! I make a similar cake but it uses only 1 cup of white sugar. I bet the half cup of brown sugar and white sugar brings it to another level. Will certainly give a go. Thanks and have a nice day 😊
Hello there. Thank you for this delicious fudge cake recipe. It looks amazing will be making this very shortley I love watching your videos plz keep your delicious recipes coming thank you
Hi just found your channel yum your cake looks delicious I really appreciate the no nonsense explanation of how to cook the cake and the simple ingredients thankyou
I am binge watching your channel and I must say i llove what i am seeing. I am from Cape Town in South Africa and thos brings back many memories of my dad. I am trying to remember why i stopped making all these cakes and deserts. Time to get my rear in gear and start baking again. Thanks for the encouragement you give us.
My pleasure....hope you get baking again....I usually have a baking day where I do a number of recipes and have delicious food for the rest of the week. Thanks.
Hi everyone I just made this cake, it’s good! Although the top has a bit of a hard crust so I’d recommend covering it while it cools so it can steam itself a little, it was more cakey than fudgey, I changed the icing a bit by adding powdered sugar and a pinch of salt and a bit more cream because my chocolate was really bitter, and it was great
Such an inspiration! you remind me of my great grandmother in the USA in Arizona. We baked a lot together and she used to sell sweet treats to help us get by, she'll go out in a hot or cold day to get it all sold or give away. Thanks for the video I love chocolate cake and will be making this 👍
would you consider doing a no nonsense rice pudding plz?.. everywhere I look they end up adding this or that to it but what I'm after is a bog standard rice pudding.. hope you'll consider making one one day.. do enjoy your tutorials, have made the apple pie twice to date.. very nice indeed, ate the lot lol.. I used to buy ready made from Tesco but ya can't beat homemade.. so Thank You for that.. brilliant series love watching.. well done, keep up the good work..👏👏..
Another wonderful video. That cake looks delicious. I’ve made a similar one for years but I have always added the cocoa powder with the flour but your method is so much better - mixing it into the hot water . I have learned something today - apparently you can teach an old dog new tricks! In fact, I am chucking my old recipe and following yours 😂 Thank you.
I appreciate you showing how to use the parchment and what shape to put in the pan without any waste. Nice recipe, easy to follow, will definitely give it a go. Thank you.
I watch a nice New Zealand lady who calls herself Farmer's Wife Homestead. She has a video showing how she makes caster sugar, icing sugar and brown sugar from ordinary white sugar. Doing as she suggests would certainly save money especially if you don't use those special sugars often. The cake looked delicious by the way.
Yes, I saw her video and I will include that tip in a future video. I was looking at doing "5 money saving tip for the kitchen" or something like that. Thanks a lot.
Your recipes and explanations are so clear, and I've learned a few new tricks. Everything is tasty, and I've also added a few extras to some of the recipes. Ingredients are slightly more expensive in New Zealand, compared with the United Kingdom, but your recipes are still fairly inexpensive here. Thank you for all the work you do on this channel!
Excellent timing…I was wondering if I could find a recipe for a chocolate cake that used oil instead of butter, and your video popped up! Thank you, I am enjoying all your recipes and best wishes from Canada.
This one looks so yummy, not sure I will be making it though as probably to much sugar as I'm diabetic. Perhaps I could leave some of the sugar out? I love all your recipes, so easy to make and easy to follow recipes x
I am making this on my next day off. Another thing I love about your channel, other than the use of normal ingredients, is that you use equipment that looks well used and loved. Again you prove that you don't need to use anything fancy to make good food. Your equipment looks like something your Nan handed down. I don't mean that in a bad way at all, just that you don't need a $400 mixer or Al Clad cookware to make good food.
Thanks a lot, and yes I have had most of the pans and baking sheets for over 40 years and they are still going strong (in fact I think some of them did belong to my Nan)
Oh my, I really need this with some vanilla ice cream! What is the difference between single and double cream? Thank you again for an easy and wonderful recipe! I love watching you try the products after you make them!❤
Everything I made from your recipes were fab! I love your kitchen, well used scratched cake tins and oven just like my kitchen. No sparkling clean oven even when the cake is removed like some demonstrations.
Thanks a lot, I've seen many baking videos where it looks like all brand new stuff they are using, but I just use what I have and the food still turns out delicious.
Really appreciate your no nonsense explanations. You just get right down to it then sample it before our very eyes.
Thanks, I like to keep everything as simple as I can, and I can't help tasting fresh out of the oven.
My husband is of the opinion that the only cake worth eating is a chocolate cake. I’ll try this one out on him as it looks simple and delicious.
Thanks a lot, I hope you both enjoy it.
Glad to meet others who don't own microwaves.
Yes, I just never found a use for one. And I think everyone got along fine without them before they were introduced. Thanks.
I adore your methods, explanations, and true enthusiasm for frugal, delicious, and easy foods.
Thanks a lot, hope you give some of the recipes a try.
Definitely adding this to my diet 😊
It's a delicious cake, hope you enjoy it.
You are top dollar mucker. But you must be the only person I know who doesn't own a microwave 😊. Thanks, I love your ginger cake
We also love the ginger cake , so do all of our friends and family
I don't own one either, I went off them when I did a bit of research. Quick but not good for health. 👍🏻
Me neither…..
Thanks a lot, yes no microwave, stand mixer or mobile phone, not that I'm against them. Just never needed them. Hope you give the cake a try it was delicious.

Thanks, yes I never really found a use for a microwave, I can heat beans, custard, rice etc on the hob in a couple of minutes
@@BakingOnABudget

Delicious! I make a similar cake but it uses only 1 cup of white sugar. I bet the half cup of brown sugar and white sugar brings it to another level. Will certainly give a go. Thanks and have a nice day 😊

Oh my, I really need this with some vanilla ice cream! What is the difference between single and double cream? Thank you again for an easy and wonderful recipe! I love watching you try the products after you make them!❤
Yes a bit of ice cream would be great, The difference with the cream is the fat content, double cream has a greater fat content. Thanks.
Hi. Recipe looking good. What oven temp do you recommend for a fan oven?
I think a fan oven is usually 20c lower than the conventional oven. Thanks
When i was a kid my tongue was the best utensil for cleaning the bowl
Yes, I remember that too when my Granny was having a baking day. Thanks.
