The meat is a little under seasoned because most people order the meat & BBQ sauce together. The salt in the meat go hand-in-hand with the sauce. That's why you have the bread under the meat so the meat and barbecue juices can season that bread 😉😉
Most people have the sauce slathered on the sandwiches, so the bread helps and the paper catches it all. I think that's why they don't put too much salt on the meat because of the sauce. We definitely loveeee Jenkins' sauce.
Visit here if you like roaches. Years ago I went one night and placed an order. When the clerk picked up the bread roaches started going everywhere. I cancelled my order .... wasn't that drunk...
Jenkins and Jerome's BBQ are one of the best black owned barbecue places. In the 50s all the way to the late 90s they were one of the most popular and one of the only black BBQ establishments we had. You already know Duval folks are some very interesting people 😂😂😂
Practically born in Jax, I LOVED Jenkins BBQ! My great uncle would always keep their sauce in his fridge and would go there once a week!!! You need to try Potters house or Mrs Austins!! so darn good!!!! I truly miss DUVAL!!!!!!!
You caught the essences of this place. Nine times out of ten. You will see these same folks. They personality is natural. I thought you got a discount until I did not see no sides. The side of fries and half chicken is upper $20 minimum. The only thing you missed was. We don’t have any today. LOL Sometimes they sell out. Our don’t have any ready at the time of arrival. They ribs are on and off to me. Sometimes blazing and sometimes tough. The chicken is the go to. Great video!!!! I have not tried the pork. Next time!!!!
