I love Attack on Titan because there's no good or evil where the titans are concerned. They are just pawns. Armin ended up doing just as much damage as Bertoldt did.

He accepted that what did was wrong but he had no chose because his this world was just that cruel. i honestly think if Zeke told Bertholdt about the Euhtenasia plan he would agree and help.
I actually don't know if he would. He wouldn't want the Rumbling but Euthanasia Plan? I mean, if his Crush in Annie is anything to say, I don't know if he'd be on board with Euthanasia

@@foursfilms You're acting as if many of our own Scouts or the Warriors haven't all had their regrets of things they've done, Bertholdt is no exception. Bertholdt wasn't a coward, being the Colossal Titan and most feared and hated Titan on Paradis got to him, like it would anyone else. Yet he still kept himself composed up to when he got it off of his chest. After that, he got the same resolve that Eren has now, as he was the first person to have seen the conflict for what it truly was. There was no going back and so he pushed forward, like Eren. Not all the Warriors are wholly brainwashed, and nor would Bertholdt grow to be sadistic... certainly not to such levels. Bertholdt wasn't a coward. He was a young guy bearing the weight of a Warrior, and the Colossal Titan at that, and was dealing with the mentality that all the Warriors and Scouts have to face. He broke out from his past timid shell and grew his confidence and took matters into his own hands, and I don't see how you could dislike and hate Bertholdt despite seeing his albeit small Character Development he had before he died. And considering his goal, as well as his crush on Annie and feelings about Eldians in general, what makes you think he'd be down for the Euthanasia plan? Zeke has that mindset due to a past experience and mention as a kid, as well as with a mentor. Bertholdt had neither, and isn't as distant as someone like Zeke
Been saying this bertholdt understand that the world was just cruel he even says so and Carrie's through with his duty cause he acknowledges he never had a choice
I really appreciate that. Literally nothing about this show hurts me more than when people just view Bertholdt as being Reiner's lackey who dies. He is SO much more than that.
I think the reason Reiner was so abrupt about telling Eren they had to leave was because they had seen Zeke just the night before the confession. Reiner knew they took too long to retake the founder so when they seen zeke they knew they had to wrap the mission up quickly and using Ymir into bringing the jaw back as well
Yeah, they didn't really have any other chance to get both the jaw and founding titan. It was now or never and reiner just blurted it out to get it over with
Bertholdt is actually my favorite as well, and so is the colossal. I found it interesting how the nicest of characters happen to also be the one with the biggest responsibility.. with the colossal. if you know the ending.. you know. But yeah Armin is also one of my favorite characters as well.
Omg he's still my #1 character, no one ever talks about bertholdt, even in the anime every one forgot about him, to bad I can only like the video once, also I would've liked to see a fully developed bertholdt vs mikasa
Really good stuff! I share your appreciation for Bertholdt, and I think you've nailed the summarisation. He's an interesting character, the way he lacks agency and is kind of caught of in the current. The scene where Bertholdt kind of accepts this, and he comments about not feeling nervous and whatever happens happens, is one of my favourites. As you said it sealed his fate, the one time he had agency he made the wrong choice.
His only wrong choice was actually exposing himself to kill armin faster (which was a demostration of compasion). Is not like selling his country and telling sid ewith the others was a choice. Althought it could have been peaceful if eren wasn't a psychopat.
Bertholdt ending arc had me in tears. And see season 4 helped me realize why Reiner and Annie was there doing all that anyway. Like someone else's comment stated there's no 100% good or evil character they all are flawed.
Pretty sure that asshat who fed Grisha's sister to his dogs is indeed 100% evil. There's literally no defending that crap, miss me with that "hE wAs tAuGhT tHaT aS a KiD" bullshit. At a certain point, that excuse no longer matters.
Well yeah. Plus he was doing all this so his dad could get medical treatment, and if he stopped his family would be turned into titans. I doubt most people are strong enough to let their families or home die for the sake of morality. That's why I love Eren and Bertholdt, cos they were both choiceless people fighting for their loved ones beneath all the genocide.
It’s funny Bertholt is one of my favorite characters as well. I think it was epic when he could have completed the mission at Shiganshina by blowing up but he decided to save Reiner his best friend instead which I believe was the first time he broke orders. When you see the warrior program flashback you’ll see he’s the only one that helps Reiner after Porco punched him as well
Another thing to note. I could probably forgive most of the deaths attributed to Reiner and his PTSD. But what he did to poor Bertoldt is unforgivable. I'm with Porco on this one. Reiner kept failing upwards.
Although my favorite character is Eren, I really appreciate things Bertholdt has offered in this show. If Isayama give Bertholdt more screen time and backstory, he would easily be in my top 3 favorite characters of AOT. Just like Marco who died in S1 and later revealed how he was killed, Bertholdt can be compelling character as he does, they both have the potential of becoming great characters in this show. When it comes to AOT ost, "Appple Seed" is easily one of the songs that I loop because it is just so good.
Berthold was just as emotionally unstable as Reiner and Eren, but he tried the hardest to follow others and support Reiner the best he could. While on one hand you can say he never had agency, you could argue that nurturing was a defense mechanism and the manifestation of his choices.
Bert was actually emotionally stronger. He had no choice but to support Reiner because Reiner made a point of it and if Reiner acted alone with his questionable plans ( cuz he was stubborn like that) , they would've been very much fucked . Reiner was changing personality every day ( the moment they reached Paradis, Reiner was playing into the character of Marcel) , Annie was egging them to abort the mission and run . Bert had his hands full keeping them in line , all because he needed the money for his father. He was being riddled with guilt from day one , yet he never snapped like Reiner , nor did he fuck up the mission because of some crush ( which Annie did). Bert was carrying out the mission as best as he could, others fucked things up yet Bert paid the price . He didn't have good leadership skills but that's exactly why he was given the Colossus, so that he doesn't stir up a rebellion and blast Marley away .
he definitely was not unstable as eren or reiner. There is a reason he was chosen for the Colossal Titan, he had unwaivering composure and calmness, even under the most intense stress, and he had the biggest sin to bear being the one who kicked the wall and started the story. yet he didnt break mentally, only displaying maybe symptoms of anxiety, depression, and guilt. he obviously was traumatized because of all of the death and destruction he caused, but he still was loyal to the cause/mission, and his will did not break. I would argue he is one of the mentally toughest characters in the show, if not the toughest.
Bertholdt is also my fav character I wish that he got a chance to tell Annie how he feels before he die though I'm happy she got the chance in Junior high
@@whoknows8101 I've said it before, I'll correct you, he knew what armin was trying to do, he was just focusing, trust me he will never get over his feelings for Annie, and now it's forever permanent because he died with them
"when he had The opportunity to do what has right" I disagree there. In the show i don't think there was a right thing to do. Bertholdt had the chance to do right by eldians in paradis or eldians in Marley. There is no telling what would have happened to eldians in Marley If they found out that the ones that they send on paradis turned on them
@@miyoko918 this is what I love about this anime/manga, it makes you learn to sympathize with others and learn about the cycle of hatred. SNK/AOT is grey, not black and white. every character is motivated by what their perceived duty/moral code is, although there is not ever an objective wrong/right. Isayama is a very articulate soul.
I'm so glad to see some bertholdt appreciation! What I love about him is how kind he is, like in another life he would be a great friend and person. But because he is a victim of circumstances with no escape, he has no choice but to continue on the inevitable path that was made for him. I love his final talk with Armin, because it shows that he values Marco's dying words and perhaps regrets not talking it out (I think it even shows Bert's expression specifically as Marco says that). This time, he grants Marco's wish, and talks with Armin even though he knows the outcome. He's finally taking responsibility for his actions. I also love how after his 'change', he seems like a machine (until his death at least), simply doing what needs to be done regardless of whether he dies or not. When he dies, he experiences Marco's fate in that there was no negotiating whether to spare him or not. He simply had to die to the eyes of the 104, just like Marco simply had to die to the eyes of RBA. I still feel he had so much more potential and that more could have been done to flesh him out in the training days or make him a little more relevant given that he's such an iconic figure for the series (although I do like how his speech is always relevant)... because for me, while I love Bertholdt, I wasn't really affected by his betrayal as I was with Reiner. I think it's because we barely ever see him have those same friendship moments prior to season 2 yet are supposed to believe that he was close with everyone. I would have also liked to see a bit more of him in later chapters like with Armin's memories that would've fleshed out the dynamic between the two. Or even see Reiner show a little bit more explicit grief over him lol. But that's just my view on him. Regardless, great analysis!!
Not sure if it's the same context in Japanese, but when he and Reiner are escaping with Ymir and Eren, with the scouts on Reiner, he asks them to save him. I shed a tear for my boy.
in: - Uses Annies name to make Bertholdt snap and allow to retake Eren - Becomes bait and causes Bertholdt’s demise - Fucking cannibalizes him - Takes his titan - Reads his memories - Rizzes up Annie - Takes his girl Armin’s the real spawn of the devil.
1. In war, any means to win are good 2. No matter how Armin controls himself in the form of pure titanium 3. Annie's heart has always belonged to Armin and not Berthold.
@@user-59559 Bro, spitting facts! Annie never belonged to Bertholdt. She had feelings for Armin since Season 1. Armin just won over the girl whose heart already belonged to him. Annie abandoned her mission for Armin, knowing she was being lured into a trap, but went along just to be a good person to him. Annie loved Armin. Bertholdt never confessed his love to Annie because he never had the guts-he was a crybaby. That’s why he didn’t deserve a woman like Annie. He should've loved someone like Historia instead. Annie is bold, and Armin has the guts to handle a bold woman. So yes, the Annie-Armin dynamic is perfect.
@@Radium-o8xBro, you described all my thoughts. I was trying to prove something, but I got tired of it)) I agree with your comment. Annie and Armin learn from each other and grow as individuals in a relationship, which could never happen with Bertholdt. Destiny gives him a chance to prove himself to Annie, but he prefers to just keep quiet and stay away (blackmailing Reiner with Marco's murder. Bertholdt didn't even stand up for her). I am especially annoyed by the stupid Bertholdt fans who think: a) Armin stole his girlfriend, titan and life. b) he should be pitied because he didn't have time to confess to Annie. c) Annie cheated on him with Armin. d) Armin's feelings are Bertholdt's influence.
@@user-59559 I'm glad you agree with me-I don't like Bertholdt. He's a failure, and he had enough time to confess, so I don't understand why people say he didn't. For example, when Reiner was choking Annie, Bertholdt stayed quiet. When Reiner forced Annie to take off Marco's ODM gear, he stayed quiet again, even though he should have been the one to do it. It was his and Reiner's fault, yet he left Annie to bear it all alone. He never deserved her. The reason Annie praised Armin, saying, "For a mouse, you've got guts," was because she doesn't care if he's physically strong or not. What matters to her is that, despite being weak, he has courage-something Bertholdt lacked. That's why he wasn't a good match for her.
@@user-59559 People are hypocrites. I don't understand how they always complain about Armin eating Bertholdt, while ignoring the fact that Bertholdt burned Armin to death. Armin was revived by his friends against his will, how could he have known who was he going to eat after becoming a pure titan ? it was coincidence of fate that he ate the one who burned him to death. He was even determined to negotiate with Bertholdt, but Bertholdt was an idiot.
bertholt also had #1 marksmanship/aim precision, #1 ODM Gear user among the 104th cadets according to the wiki, and was also a very mentally strong composed warrior, he just wasn't raised to have backbone and only knew what every Eldian in Libero was raised on which was the stern brainwashing.
your outro about wanting to share this masterpiece with whoever u can is exactly how i feel. its such an incredible show, and almost all the people ive shown it to have agreed :)
On rewatched it’s funny as hell when Reiner does literally anything to help the people of paradise beirtholdt is always looking at him with a shocked or confused face lol
I'm going to be honest, you undersold Bertholdt in his moment of clarity. He confronts Armin, but isn't even fighting him. Mikasa does attack him and in that exchange Bertholdt does a damn good job holding his own and is even able to kick Mikasa back. Mikasa recognizes his fighting ability is far different based on how he moves and how hard she is kicked back by him. When he zips away on his ODM gear Mikasa tells Armin not to chase and says "he's not Bertholdt anymore" meaning he's not the same softy we once knew. From that short exchange of blows, she knows he's a different beast in that moment with full conviction in his present actions.
Since we discovered that reiner bertoltd and annie were sent to paradis as kids as part of a team to basically destroy the island, I have been obsessed about how this impossible task shaped the three of them so differently to the people we get to know when the manga starts. I really like the warriors of marley but I don't think bert doubled down for the decision to see their plan through because that's what reiner would've done, I think that's what he's been programmed to do as a warrior of marley. after everything he had done, sacrificed and suffered, he had no way to go but foward, there was no negotiation at this point, marley would never accept this, and I think he just liked his friends enough to be truthful to them, that there is no room to negotiate, and he wouldn't betray marley. he knew the damage he had done, and I'm sure he would be happy to keep being friends with friends from paradis, but I think he sealed his fate in his biggest act of bravery and did it by his terms and because HE wanted it, not following reiner's lead for once.
SPOILERS: He also is the first person u see in the paths before all the past titan shifter’s start helping Armin and the gang. He finally got to do the right thing.
I'm glad you changed your opinion on the reveal moment, it's so good and how it's put in there basically happening in the background and how u could even miss it, but what I disagree is that berdturtle didn't agree with reiner when right b4 he says in a very weird way how they have to keep going to go back home, they way he says strikes everyone around them as very weird or maybe even suspicious, to me it almost sounded lke "Let's go we are almost done we can finsh this" maybe not exactly at that moment but in the very near future
If people like gabi so much then they should like bertholt even more. He knows that the paradisians are evil people but still accepts that they need to die. He’s better written than gabi in my opinion.
Also never told Annie how he felt which was sad but I think is a big difference with him and Armin they are same to some point but in 4th season Armin shows to take chance moments do stuff off your own back etc and he's always been verbal enough just lacks confidence
Hot take. Floch Forster is my favourite character. He always spoke his mind to his superiors regardless of whether it made him look like a coward, or look petty, or even like a villain. He told the truth without sugarcoating it and showed his bravery and willingness to do anything for his people on multiple occasions. If you were an average eldian on paradis facing impending doom you’d see Floch as a hero… it’s only because we emphasise the marleyan perspective that we see his actions as villainous. I know a lot of people hate his character but I honestly really related to his fear at the charge and fighting regardless, his grit and honesty even to those more powerful than him. To those who can’t see the nuance in his character I say re-read/watch the show and put YOURSELF in his exact shoes. He’s an excellent character because he’s flawed just like us.
Can we just talk about the fact that bertholdt has gone through so fucking much he was send of to a mass mirder mission at age 16 then on the way one of his friends got eaten then they had to go undercover pretending to be soldiers wich lead to an inner conflict about the realization that all thise people they want to kill and always hated are just normal people like them then reiner lost his mind and bertholdt always needed to pay close attention wich reiner is present right now and then anni got captured so bertholdt was basically left all alone considering reiners mental state so i think hes a giga chad i just think him and reiner didn't got enough screen time
Excuse my poor English, it is not my mother tongue. I think Zeke (captain of Marley's side) was the one who was responsible for Bertholdt's death (he could have killed Reiner as well) as he sent Reiner and Berthold to the town separately and each of them had to work ALONE. In the previous fight between Eren and Reiner, Eren broke Reiner's armor with wrestling skill then Mikasa tried to cut his nape with blades. The Colossal titan can be a little tricky to handle at first, but his steam would no longer protect him if he run out of it. Hence, none of the titan shifter should work alone but Zeke wanted to meet with Eren, he couldn't risk Eren's life. R.B.A trio is by far my favorite characters in the show. It's sad to see Bert's death. He would never have chance to show his love for Annie, never get back home, even in his afterlife he was forced to fight against his best friend and almost killed him. What a miserable life.....
I never understood why Bertholdt flew into the air to change into the colossal titan? He could have changed right where he stood and killed them all. It's almost like Bertholdt wanted to give them a chance to kill him first.
He was flying to get closer to the wall because his original plan was to throw firey debris onto where Levi and Erwin were. Also if he transformed where he initially stood he would have killed Reiner and obviously he wouldn't want to do that. I also don't think Bertholdt really viewed the scouts as a threat once he transformed which is why he was so caught off guard in the end.
Also it is usually more damaging to be higher up. Same reason most real world large explosive weapons that get dropped from the air explode before contact with the ground. Even the bomb dropped on Hiroshima did this. Maximum blast effects while supposedly minimizing radiation to the ground, but the latter probably not so helpful...
He always acted when Reiner said so because 1 Reiner is his captain and 2 bertholdt never wanted to do those things .he felt ashamed to commit the acts.
I like this video but I think when you said “when he had the opportunity to what’s right, he never did” I thought that sounds wrong note. The series is about people making morally grey decisions that has no real right or wrong answer. I think what really sealed Bertholdt’s fate is when he decided that nothing else can be done, and the world is cruel (Something to note is complete opposite of what Mikasa says from season 1. She says ‘ the world is cruel but beautiful’ which is in a more positive of that statement). Not really sure how to explain it and I maybe grasping as straws but I’ll try my best to explain my reasonings. Attack on Titan is filled with many characters that have some level of hope, dreams, or something to keep a character going. I think season 3 part 2, Return to Shiganshina is particularly about dreams and hopes. Of course dreams and hope aren’t plot armor but it does show a willingness of a character and how far they can go. Bertholdt sealed his fate as soon as he abandoned his “dreams” and “hope”. Bertholdt’s dream/hope is he, Reiner and Annie are able to go home alive together and be reunited with their respective families. That’s his biggest desire, but Season 3 is where he changed completely decides to be fully into the mission, and abandons any notions about the possibility of his dreams. Getting Eren is high priority at this point. For him the mission needs to be finished. He mentioned he wants to end everything. During his talk with Armin, he doesn’t fall for the same trick, he abandons any concern he has for Annie. He practically yells at Armin to feed her to the pigs. And even with a very injured (and a mostly headless) Reiner, he tells him too move but if he can’t during the time Bertholdt gives him, Bertholdt is very willing still continue the plan and is willing to kill Reiner in the process. I need to mention that It clear Bertholdt still cares about Annie and Reiner such as how he is willing to go against Zeke’s plan to so he can check on Reiner’s well being, but as I said earlier, Bertholdt is still prioritizing mission above all else. His mission is all that he has left but his mission is not a dream. It’s something he need to clear. Once he decides to follow the will of Marley and abandon the notion of what he wants, abandon his hopes and dreams perhaps even abandoned his own sense of self. He completely sealed his fate and thus gets eaten by Armin who still has a dream and a sense of self.
I loved the video but I whole heartedly disagree. I don't know if you can argue what bertholdt did was objectively wrong. Bertholdt was in a situation where eren a mentally unstable individual was not only in possession of the founding titan(a weapon capable of destroying himanity) but capable of using it. It could be argued not only that bertholdt was protecting his family from the wrath of Marley but that bertholdt was a savior to humanity in his final hour. The fact that bertholdt is able to accept the deaths of his closest friends at his hand for the greater good of humanity is what makes his last days as the colossal titan so incredible. The arc bertholdt goes through in my opinion is from being a character allowing everyone to control his actions, tell him what to think and even order him to commit genocide to becoming a strong, well intentioned, independent thinker that was a hero to the world and his people. A person willing to sacrifice the friends he came to love the most for the greater good and well being of the human race. Bertholdt made the right decision to oppose the scouts when you look at it from his point of view. There was no better option.

Act on his own is not about being a Warrior or a Soldier. Your commnets just show clear missconception. I understandand it because the fact that he could't act on his own was based on the fact that he wasn;t completely sure of what to do because he felt way to guilty (it was someone else choice to kill the eldians). But then it becames his own choice in the future becase he is tired of watching people suffering, which includes eldians and non eldians, but he knows what eren es capanble of doing, so based on all the knoledge he compiled he decided that eldian anhilation was the best he could do, and do it faster would have been the best so the others doenst suffer so much. It acted on his own in that season, decided his own plan to protect rainer, win and was so pro that even confronted the others in person for respect, because he truly considered his friends but he wanted to let them know there was no other choice). That was completely a demostration of decisiveness, sadly isayama plans for his were not great and he couldn't demostrate it for long. Glad he was still one of the character with the most impact even 4 years past his death which demostrated how intuitive and good character he was. He was very wise and his silent personality was probably because he meditated a lot about wheter what he was doing was correct. In season 3 he learned it was correct, so he was acting not because he was brainwashed to protect something but because he realized that he truly must protect something. He is not deferent than eren in this aspect. Again, being decisive is not about defending eldia or Marley, because in that way, at least until season 4, reier never discovered that motive Berholdt did, he just wanted to be a hero and be recognized by his father, almost the same with annie. Bert was the first of those warrios that actuallly found a purpose and worked for it, assuming being decisive is just following marley, then Annie and reiner were wost than bert who was constatly wondering about whether what he was doing was correct and then worked under his own orders based on what he learned not what he was told. Of course, in smaller aspects like how to do an specific job, reiner and annie were more clever but Bert did a come back even in that aspect before he died. Demostrating how he was not stronger, but smater, but more intutive and even empathic than most of the characters in the series.
Demon Slayer; although the story isn't as good the action and music more than make up for it alternatively Vinland Saga is a lot like AOT maturity wise and has a top tier story with amazing characters
If you enjoy Aot’s lore and stuff, Demon Slayer. If you like mystery and detective-esque stuff, Death Note. If you enjoy OP characters and kinda fun but also very sad stuff, Naruto.

You're acting as if many of our own Scouts or the Warriors haven't all had their regrets of things they've done, Bertholdt is no exception.
Bertholdt rarely talked but hus dialogues are crazy awesome and philosophical.
This should have way more views it's hard to find a character analysis of Bertholdt and this was well done for such an important character
I really appreciate that. Literally nothing about this show hurts me more than when people just view Bertholdt as being Reiner's lackey who dies. He is SO much more than that.
Also he is literally the face of the show and manga
Eventually I want to do a tier list to see the reactions when I put Bertholdt A or even S....
@@foursfilms oh lol cool, I imagine most people will be confused
Really good stuff!
I share your appreciation for Bertholdt, and I think you've nailed the summarisation. He's an interesting character, the way he lacks agency and is kind of caught of in the current. The scene where Bertholdt kind of accepts this, and he comments about not feeling nervous and whatever happens happens, is one of my favourites. As you said it sealed his fate, the one time he had agency he made the wrong choice.
Precisely accurate. Thanks for your comment
If he had sided with Armin during their confrontantion he would be betraying his childhood friend Reiner. Bertholdt was fucked either way :/
@@swantayzaaung4454 But eren allowed his family to day and most of his friedns even with all the power he had.
The guy who made the video clearly didnt think through what bert could lose if he goes with the scouts
“What was right” doesn’t really apply in this series, he still has a family to protect after all
He has a (Father) to protect, the rest are either dead, titans,or just don't show up
Although my favorite character is Eren, I really appreciate things Bertholdt has offered in this show.
I completely don't agree.
Ive never seen junior high but yes I agree Bertholdt is a very tragic character but that's also why he's one of my favorites, just very well written

@@foursfilms ppl straight up start slandering him whenever i mention him
"when he had The opportunity to do what has right"
I disagree there. In the show i don't think there was a right thing to do. Bertholdt had the chance to do right by eldians in paradis or eldians in Marley. There is no telling what would have happened to eldians in Marley If they found out that the ones that they send on paradis turned on them
exactly doing the ''right'' thing as so siding with paradise and becoming a test subject would be far worse
Bertholdt is my fav character too even before his big reveal
Attack on Titan is one of my favorite anime series. I’m glad that you covered bertholt
Bertholdt Hoover has been my favorite character since I watched the show two years ago, still remains that to this day, nice video btw

_Berthold sideeye_
Not sure if it's the same context in Japanese, but when he and Reiner are escaping with Ymir and Eren, with the scouts on Reiner, he asks them to save him. I shed a tear for my boy.
Bertholdt has always been one of my favorites lol. It’s why I clicked on this video.
in:
- Uses Annies name to make Bertholdt snap and allow to retake Eren
- Becomes bait and causes Bertholdt’s demise
- Fucking cannibalizes him
- Takes his titan
- Reads his memories
- Rizzes up Annie
- Takes his girl
Armin’s the real spawn of the devil.
1. In war, any means to win are good
2. No matter how Armin controls himself in the form of pure titanium
I was trying to prove something, but I got tired of it))
I agree with your comment.
I am especially annoyed by the stupid Bertholdt fans who think:
a) Armin stole his girlfriend, titan and life.
b) he should be pitied because he didn't have time to confess to Annie.
c) Annie cheated on him with Armin.
d) Armin's feelings are Bertholdt's influence.
I actually LOVE Bertholdt a lot! He's my third favorite character but only because Armin and Annie take the first two places on the rank.
Armin, Annie, Bertholdt is quite the love triangle

Berthold is strong. He got 3rd in the class Rankings after all. He just isn't flashy about it
That was when he was still timid and shy. Season 3 bert rivaled Mikasa
bertholt also had #1 marksmanship/aim precision, #1 ODM Gear user among the 104th cadets according to the wiki, and was also a very mentally strong composed warrior, he just wasn't raised to have backbone and only knew what every Eldian in Libero was raised on which was the stern brainwashing.
So glad to see this as I really do love Bert, he is very tragic
Bertholdt will always be my favorite. He is an amazing and such an underrated beautiful character

On rewatched it’s funny as hell when Reiner does literally anything to help the people of paradise beirtholdt is always looking at him with a shocked or confused face lol
An interesting analysis!
Thank you mate
It was heartbreaking he didn't get chance to tell her how he felt 💔 😢 but we know she didn't feel same but he never got closure
Since we discovered that reiner bertoltd and annie were sent to paradis as kids as part of a team to basically destroy the island, I have been obsessed about how this impossible task shaped the three of them so differently to the people we get to know when the manga starts. I really like the warriors of marley
but I don't think bert doubled down for the decision to see their plan through because that's what reiner would've done, I think that's what he's been programmed to do as a warrior of marley. after everything he had done, sacrificed and suffered, he had no way to go but foward, there was no negotiation at this point, marley would never accept this, and I think he just liked his friends enough to be truthful to them, that there is no room to negotiate, and he wouldn't betray marley. he knew the damage he had done, and I'm sure he would be happy to keep being friends with friends from paradis, but I think he sealed his fate in his biggest act of bravery and did it by his terms and because HE wanted it, not following reiner's lead for once.
SPOILERS:
He also is the first person u see in the paths before all the past titan shifter’s start helping Armin and the gang. He finally got to do the right thing.
I'm glad you changed your opinion on the reveal moment, it's so good and how it's put in there basically happening in the background and how u could even miss it, but what I disagree is that berdturtle didn't agree with reiner when right b4 he says in a very weird way how they have to keep going to go back home, they way he says strikes everyone around them as very weird or maybe even suspicious, to me it almost sounded lke
"Let's go we are almost done we can finsh this"
maybe not exactly at that moment but in the very near future
I literally had to turn up my volume to max to hear the audio Jesus!

Isayama and the other writers had thought about Marley... All of AOT's story was preplanned from the beginning.
3:47 pointless mention, this was because of the pain of his neck getting sliced, fuck if you paid attention you can already see the tears at 3:15
i think it is also because he is sad he is betraying his comrades
Bertholdt and Reiner was my favourites character
Him: That nobody can even say his game. Me: I guess im nobody sense I can say his name
Can we just talk about the fact that bertholdt has gone through so fucking much he was send of to a mass mirder mission at age 16 then on the way one of his friends got eaten then they had to go undercover pretending to be soldiers wich lead to an inner conflict about the realization that all thise people they want to kill and always hated are just normal people like them then reiner lost his mind and bertholdt always needed to pay close attention wich reiner is present right now and then anni got captured so bertholdt was basically left all alone considering reiners mental state so i think hes a giga chad i just think him and reiner didn't got enough screen time
He's my favorite character, Bernard

What a miserable life.....
video's interesting but super quiet. Would appreciate if you pumped up the volume on future ones
Maximum blast effects while supposedly minimizing radiation to the ground, but the latter probably not so helpful...
an explosion in the air brings more destruction. That's why most nukes are intended to detonate far above ground (not too far obviously)
@@foursfilms That makes sense. Thank you!

That deep.
I actually really really like Bertholdt

@@foursfilms Other than the audio, the video really made me appreciate Bertholdt more.

In every scense of attack on titan ( most of them ) bretholt is showing that he scared from every thing 😳 but did you ask your self how a person that trained from childhood and he is 195 cm hight cood be that Butterfingered(weak) and he chosen to be a titan ? We have porco that in scenses that we see he was better than bretholt why bretholt be chosen to be a titan and why we don't see his father and his family in attack on titan ( we see Annie's and rinners) I think bretholt charector can make another insane plot twist like black clover 🍀. Another charrector that for me is not Comprehensible
Is Marco why Exactly Marco should come when rinner and brotholt are talking together ? I think if attack on titan wants to have a plot twist this plot twist is insane and I think Marco and bretholt work together. 🤔?
