I already liked Reiner and Bert so much even after completing the Paradis Arc, only if this scene was shown, my liking for them would've grown even more. And that laughter part just broke me, they had so many fond memories which they have to set aside due to their circumstances, especially Bertholdt, now knowing that he is dead. They really deserved much better, but it's a war, everyone is a victim.
It's almost like they're trying to convince themselves. The idea that they should stop moving forward is too hard to bear, because it would mean all those people died for no reason.

When Connie asked them whether any of it was real or it was all just a lie and Bertholdt bursts out that of course it was all real. Then he brokenly asks someone to save them... To which Mikasa replies that they need to give Eren back. I had always pitied Bertholdt but now it's so much worse.

Reiner is just such a beast of a character my personal favourit Aot realy gets some characters well, expecialy some emotions yes they have some standart shonen bs but still Reiner or Erwin are so fleshed out and are so human that its astonishing (and the additional dialouge in scenes like this or the manga in generell also helps to under line that)

I honestly think Armin is the one who's gonna stop Eren and break the curse, while being himself the only survivor of the story.
There's a shit ton of things indicating that, and Isayama's quite known for extremely early foreshadowing.
