    I’ve just started seriously lookin into upgrading from my 1987 Hummingbird Platinum ID ( lol ya it’s time ) to something in the 600 - 800 dollar range - of all the vids I’ve watched on head to head this ones the best - as I’m a bit older and need simpler and large screen and with the array of tech out there’s its incredible - before this vid I had hummingbird- lowrance 1 - 2 and Garmin 3 but now I’m sold on a Garmin unit - thanks 🖖

    Great video! I agree with the Garmin Echomap. Very user friendly and great pictures. The Touch Screen is awesome. Had a Helix 7. Great pictures but no Touch Screen so going back and forth between screens and tuning it in was cumbersome.

    This was very helpful, getting ready to upgrade electronics on my ranger r17 alum series and have a lowrance that I don’t like, looking at Garmin mid range 899 or so and you confirmed Garmin at the best option . Thank you!

    I recently purchased a new G3 Gator Tough 17SC with a 70HP Yamaha. I plan to fish the local lakes and rivers for crappie and pan fish. Any suggestions on a setup for a trolling motor and fish finder?

      He mentions in the video that the Garmin fish finder can control the trolling motor. So good combo there.

    Do people pay out cash to build out a boat or do they finance a build out? I’d really like to build out my boat with Garmin equipment and electronics but I can’t afford a thing up front like that. So my question is, is it even worth financing or do I buy one unit a year until Ive bought all the units and equipment I wanted?

    I plan on buying a new Chart Plotter this spring. Looking at the 93 SV UHD2 for 1199.00 I can get an 93 SV UHD with the 54 Transducer for 600.00 at Bass Pro. Do you think the UHD2 with the 56 Transducer is worth the price. Plan on doing mostly Crappie, Walleye, Panfishing.
    Thanks

    I was looking to buy elite fs9, but now you make me doubt, saying echomap uhd 93sv is better, can you explain a bit more in depth to me why should I go to the garmin instead..

    • @FloppingCrappie
      @FloppingCrappie  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The new echomap have better screen resolution than the Elite FS series. The old lowrance elites did not have mega imaging for down scan or side scan. I looked at the lowrance website, and I'm not sure if the new version uses mega imaging or not.

    I’m looking to buy a fish finder for my boat. I fish in Lake Ontario in NY state. I really and truly don’t know much about these systems at all. I watch your video and thought I would ask you. I do the salmon tournaments and want to do my own thing. Please if you would help me with the best one you would recommend. I’m really lost watching these videos and my buddy has a 6,000.00 unit but I’m not going to spend that much and really don’t think you need such a high dollar fish finder like he has to find fish. I hear you talking about the Garmin series but and lost for words to understand what I would buy. Would you please get back to me a idea of one that would fit my kind of fishing please and thank you? Hope to hear back from you. Ty

      As a starting point, I would recommend looking at the Garmin echomap 93sv. This unit comes in at roughly $1k. You might be able to find it on sale. This is a great all around unit with downvu and sidevu plus touchscreen capablities.

    Jusrt got the Garmin Echomap UHD25 but the problem is the contour map increments are 1 foot apart or any random thing they choose. I've adjusted the 5 options they offer and it just is worthless.
    The little Echomap Plus I used to have could be set at 5 foot depth intervals. I really miss that. I dont want 30 one foot lines to try to troll. I dont want 20 of them and random lines where one distance is 6 foot apart, the next is 4 foot apart. What gives with that?
    Who makes a contour map where I can designate how far apart the depth lines are?
