I love how throughout the show, in these little gestures, we are shown that cooking really is his passion. He can't stop smiling when he's making the cake, because he's just so happy, plus, having a yonko telling him his creation is good is such a big honor to him even if she's tried to kill him and everything.

i never liked sanji so much since the beggining, didn't like a part of his personality. but this arc was really good and seeing him trully hurt by many ways made a great developement. he left the crew to protect them, he went back in his family and were willing to marry pudding to protect his friends. like most of the characters, he is well written, have a loving fanbase and sometimes we see him like that, so generous that he smile thinking of his ennemy eating his food.

Thing is, Sanji did kill Big mom, just not the part of her Benji wanted, instead he killed the Hunger Paine version of her which had been raging havoc for decades to maybe nearly a century. The second big mom ate that the most destructive and unpredictable part of herself she had for so very many years and cost so many of her children and family members and loved one's lives had died that very moment. But tasting probably one of the most delicious cakes to ever be born in the world at any point in history will probably do that to a demon burthed from the desire to keeping eating the most desirable desserts and foods ever to be thought of.
Damn man, she only was able to see what she lost when she tasted a miracle of Sanji's kindness.
